Monday we had the Joshua Adams video shoot, I got asked to be the bride as well as make the wedding dress. Today was a really fun day, video shooting with Sam teal productions.

3rd - 7th

This week unfortunately the video shoot for Joshua Adams has been postponed due to Covid. I have also tested positive for Covid so I am catching up with uni work and also my own sewing work.

27th - 31st

Monday today I was making the wedding dress all day from my pattern.

Tuesday again today I was making the wedding dress.

Thursday Joshua Adams today I was making dressing room curtains, as well as serving my brother on the shop floor.

20th - 24th

Monday Fabworks today I was working in the shop in the morning and then in the afternoon I was uploading photos onto shopify of all the new fabrics. Today we had a guy who came in who has made carpet garments for the designer Hussein chalayan which was so interesting to hear about.

Tuesday Fabworks today was a really exciting day as we was unwrapping at the fabrics from London to find designer fabrics such as the vampire wife, Roland mouret, galvan London and Martin rose. I also bought some 100% silk from the ex designer. I also bought my first old sewing machine of a guy who came into the shop. This was my last day at Fabworks, overall I have had an amazing time and learnt so much.

Wednesday today I went to find some wedding fabric because I am going to be the bride and I have decided to make a wedding dress for the video shoot at Joshua Adams if it goes ahead with Covid. I also had a team meeting at Joshua Adams which was discussing how we can improve the back house.

Thursday Joshua Adams today I did more repairs on garments as we are at the quite season now so there isn’t many customer alterations.

Friday Joshua Adams today I had me one to one discussion with the CEO which was a brilliant outcome as she is very pleased on my performance and has also invited me to two events which are part of a wholesaler which I am really looking forward too as this will be a different experience. She also asked what else I would like to learn on my last few weeks, so the CEO is giving me business task and also letting me see how things run on the shop floor. Today I was learning how to alter sleeves which we was half way through!

Monday Fabworks

Tuesday Fabworks today we was unpacking fabrics and displaying the fabrics.

Wednesday university work

Thursday Joshua Adams today I was sewing jean hems and I completed the hire rail.

Friday Joshua Adams today we was measuring up the curtains for the changing room and working out how many meters I will need to buy for them for Fabworks.

Saturday Joshua Adams today I was helping with the shop window display for New Years as well as a sewing day.

6th - 10th

Monday today I was working at Fabworks we had fabrics that have come from London, which included Victoria beckhams.

Tuesday at Fabworks we was sorting a lot of fabrics out from wool to linings.

Wednesday today I was making my outfit for the Christmas do on Sunday. I also worked at Fabworks and did a university night for Huddersfield university.

Thursday today at Joshua Adams I had a lot of express hems to sew. Along with a lot of hire suits for the Christmas do on Sunday.

Friday Joshua Adams today I was sewing up waistcoat that have been damaged.

Saturday today I had a weekend away in York.

Monday Joshua Adams photoshoot. For Instagram, social media content and website. Today was a really fun day!

Wednesday today I was making my outfit for the Christmas do on Saturday. sewing day I have also created my own pattern to make this garment.

22nd - 26th

Monday Fabworks today I was working in the shop selling fabrics.

Tuesday Fabworks, today I was creating tags for fabrics for the website.

Wednesday today I am pattern cutting my outfit for my Christmas do. I also had a meeting at Joshua Adams which was really interesting about the business.

Thursday Joshua Adams today I was sewing retail wear.

Friday Joshua Adams today I was sewing lots of hire hems which can be quite difficult sometimes with the big turn ups.

Saturday Joshua Adams, today I was sewing lots of different types of hens, I had a pair of jeans and a waist coat to sew.

15th - 19th

Monday was working at Fabworks

Tuesday Fabworks today I was rolling out glitter fabrics.

Thursday I got asked by my college teacher to do a workshop at huddersfield new college and showing my portfolio of my university work. This was a great day speaking to students when I remember been in there position.

8th - 12th

This week at Fabworks we had a lot of students coming in to buy fabrics which was really interesting as I was asking them lots of questions about university. I was also deciding if to buy my fabric from there to set up my business instead of going to a manufacturer. So I have decided to start up the business buy making my own clothes and I think this business would launch next year in aw23.

This week at Joshua Adams I have had lots of hems to sew for wedding party’s and also hire. I also picked up my portfolio ready to show college students next year.

November 2021

1st - 5th

This week I have been setting up Pinterest for Fabworks, by adding there fabrics to boards and researching how Pinterest works. I also bought loads of fabrics to start making clothes for my self. This week at Joshua Adams I have had a few busy days where I had loads of express hems to do. This is when a customers waits for you to take up there trouser, or this could be taking in the waist. I was also changing the colour of buttons on a shirt. I also learnt how to take in men’s blazer jackets. This week I also made a pair of curtains for my bedroom as I have never made curtains before so I enjoyed sewing something new.

This week I worked at Fabworks and the tailors

We had a photo shoot at Fabworks which I was getting behind the scene photos. At the tailors this week I learned how to take in a men’s blazer jackets from the side seams I also learned how to take in a men’s waist coat from the shoulder.

I was also working on my own business and looking into designing garments.

18th - 22nd

Monday and Tuesday I was working at Fabworks I had a Pinterest call on Tuesday as the team are wanting me to work on setting up Pinterest for the business.

Wednesday I have made my Logo for my business and started to do design research.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was at the tailors I have now got to the stage were I can be learned how to alter suit sleeves. I have also got the tailors fabric samples for the new dressing room.

11th - 15th

Monday and Tuesday I worked at Fabworks working on the shop floor and then on social media researching Pinterest. I also learnt how to fabric test.

Wednesday I had a call with the enterprise team to talk about my business again.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was working at the tailors. As people was on holiday I was the only one who could do alterations on Saturday as I was sewing a lot of express alterations.

Learning how to take in the seat and waist on men’s trousers. I was also taking photos of the new heart of Huddersfield.
