she fucks like she’s going to war tomorrow. but then, that’s how she does everything. there’s a battle spirit in every move she makes: in the click of her heel against the linoleum tiles at school; in the leer of her gaze; in the bitter way she says, “you weren’t there for me when i needed you,” and says it because she’s moved on but the words will still hurt you and she wants to, oh God, she wants to see you hurt. she is bloodlust and sharp nails and bright teeth and her war scream is heard for miles and miles and miles.

he puts his mouth on her like there’s peace in every breath he takes, like he can quell her battle-cry and keep her here, against his skin, sweat-slick and sleep-heavy and content. he holds her hand and offers her solace and when he fucks, he fucks like he can change her (though she knows she’s already changed).
