Can we talk for a second about how The 100 does not shy away from incorporating female characters at all?

Who’s the main character that winds up leading her people? A woman

 But it doesn’t stop at just one powerful female.

Who leads the twelve united Grounder clans? A woman

Who led the Woods Clan? A woman

 Who leads the TonDC tribe? A woman

Who was training to be a second? A woman

 Who took over as chancellor on the ground? A woman

Who is the Sky People’s crucial mechanic? A woman

Who was the leader of the Guard? A WOMAN

Who acts against her own people to help save others she barely knows? A WOMAN

And the list of female characters does not stop there. There’s Harper, Monroe, Roma, Fox, Echo, Diana, Tsing, and multiple other background characters.

Any of these characters could have easily been male instead, but they aren’t. They are all incredibly written women and girls. And this is so important. A lot of other shows are starting to have great female characters, but only have a limited number of them. The 100 does not hold back and feels no need to put men everywhere.

what still cracks me up is how clarke had no clue lexa was into her like…. could she have been more obvious…….. she pulled the dead girlfriend card on a complete stranger as a FUN FACT ABOUT ME I LIKE GIRLS back to my tragic story….. she bent over backwards to accommodate clarke at every turn….. literally killing her own people for clarke… killing her hundreds of her own people for a FRIEND of clarke’s…… HOW MANY GIRLS WILL READILY FEED THEMSELVES TO A GORILLA TO SAVE SOMEONE WHO IS “JUST A FRIEND”…… SHE GAVE HER EVERY POSSIBLE CLUE….. then there’s clarke who’s still all “wo w thats your mouth on m- ok imma be real i didnt see that coming”

and even after the kiss clarke is so damn oblivious to everything like in front of the door at mt weather lexa being all “soooooooooooooooooooooooooo….. what r u gonna do after we’re done killing these people? im just asking for a friend nbd” and clarke is all *srs bsns face* “no idea” and then my baby gay lexa tries again like she’s a trooper she doesn’t give up tries to be subtle again “u suuuuuure u don’t want anything? anything at ALL?” *glances at clarke trying to look normal, super chill, plays it cool* and clarke barely looking at her like “not really no” so lexa has to spell it out “ok so i HEARD from someone that the grounder capital looks AMAZING at this time of the year and i guess i, the commander of the grounder army, would be the perfect person to show you around so you won’t miss out on any places you should visit like let me know if it fits your schedule? ps. this is not a date, i’m not asking you out on a date” and clarke is all “people are dying, lexa pps: yes to the date”

my secret wish for the clexa reunion is that clarke gets captured and taken to polis and she knows they’re taking her straight to lexa and she’s expecting a war room and a throne but they take her through a building and up a bunch of stairs and outside? on a roof? it’s a rooftop garden of sorts??

and clarke sees her immediately sitting on a bench facing away from them, a loose white shirt that leaves her back tattoos visible and a breeze playing with her unbraided curls and lexa turns her head slightly so clarke can catch a glimpse of her profile and she’s wearing that cog/not-a-jewel crown jewel thing but no war paint and she looks so serene it’s unreal and clarke’s heart is a c h i n g

and then one of the guards says “heda” and lexa turns and her eYES ON THE LOW ALMOST FALL OUT OF HER HEAD WHEN SHE SEES CLARKE but she’s fine she’s relaxed except for the fact that clarke has chains around her wrists so lexa stands and her face goes hard and she orders them to release clarke and then leave them

and when they’re gone (clarke is lowkey trying to glower at her and NOT think about how beautiful she is) lexa is suddenly so unsure and she takes a hesitant step or two forward and just says “clarke?” in the quietest voice and iDK WHAT HAPPENS NEXT BUT THIS IS MY IDEAL CLEXA REUNION SCENARIO OK I WANT LEXA TO LOOK THE //OPPOSITE// OF HOW SHE DID AT MOUNT WEATHER I WANT LEXA TO NOT HAVE TO BE QUITE SO HARD WHEN SHE’S IN POLIS AMONG HER PEOPLE AND I WANT CLARKE TO FORGET ABOUT TRYING TO HATE HER FOR A SECOND OR TWO BECAUSE THIS IS JUST /LEXA/ STANDING IN FRONT OF HER, NERVOUS GENTLE LEXA SO MUCH MORE LIKE THE GIRL WHO QUIETLY CONFESSED HER FEELINGS WITH TEARS SHINING IN HER EYES THAN THE ONE WHO ABANDONED HER IN SPITE OF THOSE SAME TEARS I’M FINE AND LIVING CAN YOU T E L L
