I JUST THINK THERE IS SOMETHING SAURRRRR POETIC about the musical themes of this show. from the different versions of the ballad throughout time and how it evolved, to the references to musical theatre, and the wicked parallel is so interesting to me because the whole story is about how misunderstood the wicked witch is, and it follows the same formula as agatha's development as a witch. wronged, misunderstood and slandered until she just... gave in to the noise

agatha allowed herself a split second to break down her walls

agatha was ready to fold and let herself fall back in and then

rio's "that boy isn't yours"

it snapped agatha out of it and jogged her memory

because regardless of why rio did what she did, agatha's son is still dead
