oh my god. it’s been a full year since the first chapter came out so im gonna take this opportunity to be sappy

this comic… oh my god. i’ll forever be thankfully to this au for helping me meet and connect with so many people. im especially thankful towards all of u. But none of this would’ve happened without your guys’ love. You guys have no idea how much your never ending love and support means to me. every day I treasure every kind word, fanart, and ask ive received. When I first released the prologue a year ago, I decided I wouldn't continue the series out of fear no one would care. Obviously I was immediately proven wrong so thank you everyone for an amazing year <3

also. obviously it's been a long time since the last update. I promise I've been working on it there's just many many many real life factors that make it difficult. I've debated cutting some aspects (colors backgrounds etc) to get it out earlier but I don't want to make anything I'm not happy with and you guys deserve the best. so thank you for your patience and I hope it'll be worth the wait. this chapter is definitely the turning point in the comic and that's all I'll say on that ;]

🐶 i pop in from time to time on mostly everyone; but the ones i’m caught up on for season 10 are etho, joel, grian, scar, and bdubs. i’m also in the process of watching joe, xisuma, and doc. i want to go back and watch older seasons as well when i find the time.

🌻 ABSolutely. i love how the ls draws out different aspects of the content creators that they might not get to showcase elsewhere. the differnt dynamics and teams that form, the gimmicks, and the unbelievable iconic moments make the ls one of my favorite series to rewatch. i’ve watched multiple people’s povs from 3rd life to simple life multiple times atp (secret life is easily my favorite installation so far)

in the recent roomies drawing, which is precious btw, is grian a secretary bird? i thought chicken at first but the feathers dont feel quite right. the white was so unique it had me looking close!

also love them matching cleo, and the confetti spotty colors on ethos tails (and his lil peets omgggg)

i always find it interesting when people add more meaning to my drawings than even i intended lmao /vpos

short answer? i just didn't color grian's wings

longer answer and ramblings: a lot of the time in my drawings, i limit my color palette (especially for quick pieces and doodles). usually three colors including black and at most five if they're accents. i do this so that the colors that i end up using indicate areas of interest, or convey the vibe i want that the lineart can't.

in the case of the roomies: the main colors were teal, yellow, and pink so that it could be shown that the boys were matching cleo. additional colors like black, orange, and green were used to add more to the characters themselves.

i would've done the same for grian, but the colors i would have used were red, blue, and yellow (his classic macaw colors). and although these colors are utilized in the piece - yellow as main, light sprinkles of blue, and pink as a lighter red - these colors associated with grian didn't quite match the vibe i wanted (most of the colors were more on the pastel side). an intense red and deep navy blue would've stuck out, and i didn't want the drawing to feel busier than it already is; thus, i didn't color grian's wings

but hey! art is always up for interpretation; so if you want him to be a secretary bird, by all means, go right ahead!

Could you draw Pearl and Gem’s life series divorce arc please?

Also, it can be seperate or in this, I’m curious to know what your 5am Pearl would look like. Like would she draw on an unsettling fake mouth with someone else’s blood?

and as for 5am pearl’s full design, you’re pretty close w the blood smile idea

like i mentioned in this post, pearl does have a mouth when she speaks. it looks fairly normal, but i think for the ls and her red life persona it becomes more monsterous.

she paints on pouty lips that match her droopy eyes to seem more pathetic (no one knows if it’s done with blood or not) and it always seems to be smeared a bit :]
