after eight years, I finally updated my huge Historical Fashion Reference & Resources Doc! Now in the form of a MUCH more easily updated Google Doc with better organization, refreshed links, and five more pages of books and online resources.

I know tumblr hates links, but it’s worth it for a doc that I can now update with far more regularity going forward! RIP to the original, you did your duty for far longer than you should have. 😔🙏🏼

I love it when the unreliable narrator begins to trip and reveal the flaws in their story and themself. I cannot explain how much I adore them. The moment you realize that "wait, something is not right" and start to rethink the whole book is the absolute best thing to happen to you while reading. You just know the reread will be even better.

twice now (once like a year ago and once this past friday) I have said to the baby "you don't need to yell. I'm listening" and both times he stopped yelling and gave me the funniest look. like a look of both confusion and interest, mingled with the upsetness that was causing him to yell. I am sure both times he was considering the ramifications of my statement and I got the impression that if he wasn't already upset about something more urgent he would take up the conversational tangent of whether he was yelling because he thought I wasn't listening or because he needed me to know this matter loomed exceptionally emotionally large for him or because yelling just wells up inside him as a result of upsetness, like crying. someday we will have more of a conversation about this when we aren't discussing whether a nap would be nice and make him feel better or wreak utter and irrevocable destruction on both our pleasant afternoon and his soul
