To be fair, I feel like daybreak was meant to be over the top and dramatic, like you almost can't take her serious and you shouldn't. She was just a dream, never meant to be real. But I do agree with you that mlp's designs changed over time, and not always for the better.

rewatching the movie made me realize how insane this scene makes me. twilight thought pinkie was still mad at her and instantly started apologizing when she saw her. and pinkie didn't even need twilights words, she just jumped straight into her arms for a big, comforting hug. twi was shocked but immediately reciprocated the hug because she was so glad her best friend was back by her side.

Okay this blog isn't meant to be very serious or anything but I've just had this on my mind for a while and I need to share.

I absolutely hate hate hate the way peak brony fandom used to shame and exclude little girls in this space. Little girls who were a fan of my little pony were simply not allowed in the fandom space anymore, were shamed for how they enjoyed the show (and it's previous generations) and were not kept safe from adult spaces. Fan voices of young, teen and even adult girls and women were ignored. Little girls simply didn't "appreciate the show the way bronies did" and were often blamed for the more childlike episodes. IT WAS THEIR SHOW! this show IS FOR LITTLE GIRLS! this is THEIR space that you are invading so you better make sure that they are kept safe and heard. Don't get me wrong, absolutely anyone and everyone is allowed to enjoy this show, or any show for that matter. That was never the problem. But we made conventions and forums for a show about pink happy ponies, and made these conventions and forums absolute hellscapes for little girls to enter and navigate and nobody important in this fandom cared enough about it to keep these children safe. Nowadays the fandom is a looooot better, and I feel like we all collectively remembered that were watching a kidsshow again. I don't like the new generation of my little pony, honestly, but kids seem to like it so I'm really happy that this is the direction they took the show in, instead of appealing to the adult bronies again.
