don’t allow ur insecurities to create ur reality. no one is “too good” for you. Nothing is “too far” and everything you imagined yourself doing as a child is within reach. that’s the secret difference between your adult self and your child self; your child self doesn’t allow insecurities to dictate their day. everything can happen for you if you work for it. anyone can be yours if you allow your true love to shine from your heart. The world is here for the experiencing.

Here in Canada, June 21 is Indigenous Peoples Day. A few suggestions for how you can observe today:
Search your home on the Native Lands map and learn whose land you're sharing. I live on Semiahmoo land, outside Vancouver, BC.
Find your local water and land defenders and figure out how you can support them, whether with your money, resources, or your body.
Learn the first names of your local landmarks. I live in view of Mount Baker, so named for one of George Vancouver's lieutenants. The Nooksack people, who live nearby, call the mountain Kweq' Smánit.
Pay your rent. As an Anglo settler, I acknowledge the land, and I pay for the privilege to live here. I make a monthly contribution to the Nii’kinaaganaa Foundation, who redistributes that money to Indigenous projects across Canada. It's not a lot, but it's my commitment to land back.
Read the 94 Calls to Action (PDF). It's been 10 years now since Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission ended. Only 15 of the 94 recommended actions have been completed.

I mean surely we all grew up feeling like there was a wrongness inherently deep inside us that will endure for the rest of our lives

reminder that gazafunds is a great website.
each time you load the site, it shows one randomly selected, verified fundraiser that's low on funds.
extremely straightforward, & an easy to remember url. it's my go-to when I'm able to give; removes any room for procrastination or overthinking.
