Charming’s reaction to the fact that Emma (almost) was engaged

When I watched this scene for the first time… I laughed. But watching it over and over again… it saddens me more and more. Because, first, Charming is confused, like “wait, what, my daughter - marrying - but when… did this happen?” and when Hook tells him again that she almost married a monster, Charming’s actual pretty non-telling face expression just drops. Because his baby girl didn’t only almost marry without him knowing anything about it - she also had been disappointed again by a person she cared about because she’d found and trusted the wrong person. And then he realizes that it might feel like his daughter was only gone for one day - because that’s what he remembers - but actually she lived an entirely different life - for a long time in which a lot has changed. And then he realizes that he doesn’t even know her anymore. He tried so hard to get to know her after the curse was broken; his baby girl was the person he tried to spend as much time as possible with because she’s his daughter. And it was all for nothing because she almost got married - without him knowing, without him telling. And now he knows one thing: he must get to know the new-old Emma. And that starts with the 3rd gif: he doesn’t care anymore what happens around him; he just wants to look at his daughter’s face to check if she’s actually alright. And that’s where the “catching up” starts all over again.
