is it just me or does the circe's island scene and the siren's bay scene parallel each other so perfectly in sea of monsters. in both scenes, a harmful entity shows percy/annabeth a vision of their idea of perfectionism. and in both scenes, both of them put themselves in harm's way thinking that they were going to achieve this vision while in reality they were in danger, and had to be rescued by the other. and both scenes are followed by a comforting hug. but the thing is; the different ideas of perfectionism shown to percy and annabeth align perfectly with their view of life. annabeth hates her life; she feels confident in herself but still hates her broken family, the itching to become great even though she feels so powerless, luke. but percy is different. he hates himself, inside and out. so annabeth saw her life fixed. percy saw himself fixed.
and if we don't get a girly lil montage of annabeth's makeover on circe's island with cutesy music in the background in s2, then what's the point??
like imagine. it's percy in a really tight situation rn. he's tempted by his humane insecurities, risking trusting a suspicious primordial goddess. but he's choked, because he wants to be perfect. he wants to be enough. we see a torn expression on walker's face. indecision and doom is hanging in the atmosphere.
then we cut to some pop music blaring in the background. leah's lips are touched up with lipstick a close up shot. her cheeks are brushed with powdered pink. we see her spinning around in some dresses while giggling with the servants (+reyna cameo). she's shooting star eyes at the mirror with someone gives her a grand reveal of her new gorgeous hairstyle.
oh, where were we again? oh yeah. we cut back to percys life or death situation or whatever.
Hiii I love your art so much!! You're definitely my fave pjo artist out there! They all look so smol and silly in your style, which is great honestly since even in the later books they're all still kids after all (lowkey hate when fandom draws them all super hot and grown-up)
Also, you draw both the book and the show versions of the characters so well! I love you!! Hope you're having a great day!! 💙
Oh thank you so much this was so lovely to read, has made my day!
Im glad you noticed I draw them their actual age, as I do make a conscious effort with this. I grew up with PJO in the early 2010s, and I reread a few months ago, and reading these books again as an adult made me realise just how young these characters were!!! I mean the oldest we have seen percy in canon is like 18/19?!
I am an appreciator of the percabeth multiverse ahahaha, books, show, musical you name it, I wanna draw every version!!!!!! There is a special place in my heart for the show, it feels like everything I dreamed of as a kid and it’s the reason im back on my pjo kick after 10 years!
Hope you are having a great day too, thanks so much again for these lovely words ❤️

I'm very honored that this blog makes someone out there happy! It's the ultimate goal artist can achieve imo. With all the ai shit going on, I really struggle to find motivation these days, but nice asks like this make everything worth it!! Thank you again anon, I hope you're having a great day!
