THE MEAD IS A WELCOME CHANGE OF PACE. Stream water is only charming for so long; calloused fingers grip the mug with GRATEFULNESS, raising it again to his lips. Warmth spreads through the depths of his bones like HONEY, slow and heavy as it drips and drops to fill every dip and comb of the hive. Breath leaves him in a soft huff, one of contentment.

HER CLAIM PROMPTS HIM TO QUIRK A BROW. Better than anyone? He cannot be sure she is even a NORD, the people native to this land and the race he calls his own, and in truth she seems out of her element. She cannot be very warm; she looks sickly. Shoulders hunch in on the body they connect to as if to SHIELD it from the wind, wind that only tickles the hairs on his arms and nothing more. The PAUSE between his words and hers, as though she cannot process what he’s said. His curiosity is definitely piqued, now. The aura she gives, it is one that he cannot identify, not with what he knows. CURIOSITY kills the cat, but satisfaction brings it back.

AGAIN HE DRINKS. Licks his lips, looks to her solemnly.❝Mm. Not the first to claim such knowledge, most certainly will not be the LAST.❞ Fingers tap against the side of the mug, leg bouncing lazily beneath the counter top. He himself has been, even if sparingly, to every hold. Windhelm is easily the only one he knows how to navigate with complete CONFIDENCE, even so.❝Where are you from, then?❞

“BUT IT IS no mere claim, Nord,” she objects, doing her best to hide the faint grin tugging at the corner of her lips. But she does not divulge further into said claim, pausing again to sip her mead. She welcomes the change in topic, and while she speaks she rubs her arms in some attempt to bring warmth back to her long-dead flesh and bone.

“CYRODIIL IS MY home,” she answers at last. “But my job keeps me busy and travelling across all of Tamriel.” It’s technically jobs, as there are two, but she reveals no information on either one. Her life as an assassin is always to remain secret, and her career as an Imperial soldier was better left unknown to these Nords. The time would come to reveal that, but the time hadn’t come yet. Not until Tullius gave the order.
