It's so odd people believe Sadie Adler just escaped the cycle of revenge and contradicts the lesson of revenge being a fool's game. We know her as a person who wanted revenge on the O'Driscolls, but she's also the comeuppance in Colm's story. He played with people's lives, killed them without a second thought, and let his men raid, plunder, and hurt others. In the Red Dead world, a life like that catches up with you in one way or another. I see people complaining she didn't die in American Venom, and to be honest, plot armor saves a lot of the VDL gang most of the time. But there are two reasons she didn't die. The tonal whiplash of John and Abigail having a wedding right after Sadie died, and another fact: Since the beginning of the gang, Sadie admits she longs for death, she's not afraid of dying, so how do you make a character like that suffer? You make them survive as the people they care about drop. She got her revenge on Colm, Billy, Tom, and Micah, but that's it. She has nothing keeping her going now. While John screwed up by pursuing revenge on Micah, he has a family, and people to go back to. Sadie... doesn't. She doesn't have anything except bounty hunting, so she goes to South America, and the rest is up to interpretation. In a way, she's like Landon Ricketts, someone too good at what she does to actually die, and her punishment is being forced to live with everything. That doesn't sound like escaping consequences to me. If revenge is a fool's game, and Sadie won it, I suppose that makes her the queen of fools.
