The way your boyfriend, Sunghoon, glided on the ice was so swift and heavenly.

Before you two had been boyfriends, you knew he had a passion for ice skating. Once, you had taken Sunghoon to his childhood ice rink for his birthday and boy did he enjoy it. Now you’re at the same exact one for a EN O’CLOCK video!

You weren’t sure which was more colder— the ice beneath your feet or the chilled air touching your cheeks. EN O’CLOCK’s camera footage caught all of chaos and silliness on the rink, but your focus was on the figure gliding effortlessly towards you.

Your boyfriend slid beside you, his blades carving an arc into the ice.

“You’re stiff,” He chuckled teasingly. “I’m freezing.” You countered, blowing into your cold hands and then rubbing them together. “Then why’d you take your gloves off?” Sunghoon slid beside you, matching the pace you were going. “It’s hard to hold my phone.” Sunghoon sighed. “Give me your hands.” You hummed in confusion while locking eyes. “Why?” You hesitated. “Just give ‘em here..”

As soon as his long fingers brushed your hand, you flinched. “Sunghoon!”

“What?” Your boyfriend asked, feigning innocence.

“They’re so cold!” You exclaimed, half laughing, half horrified. “You could refrigerate food with these!” Sunghoon’s lips slowly curled into a warm smile at you being dramatic. “They aren’t that cold..” He whispers to you, mainly himself.

“Not that bad!?” You sputtered out. “How are you not wearing gloves?”

“They mess with my grip,” He replied casually, as if he hadn’t just made the most Sunghoon-esque statement possible.

You were still shivering when he suddenly slid one of his hand into yours, his palm cool but firm. “There,” he said, as if that explained everything.

You blinked. “You’re warming up by holding my hand? That’s backwards.” Sunghoon teased.

“Or,” the tall one began, skating backward now and tugging you along with him, “I’m keeping you from falling. Multifunctional.”

The rink lights reflected off his dark eyes, and for a moment you forgot to keep your balance. Sunghoon squeezed your hand, steadying you without breaking stride.

“Thanks,” you muttered.

“No problem,” he replied easily, though the faint pink on his ears wasn’t from the cold alone.

The rest of the skate was a blur— your clumsy attempts to keep up, his occasional smirks when you wobbled, and the way he never once let go. Even when the cameras turned away, Sunghoon’s fingers stayed laced with yours, as if the excuse to ‘keep you from falling’ was one he wasn’t in a hurry to drop.

By the time you left the rink, your hands were warmer. Not because the cold had faded, but because your tall boyfriend was still holding on.
