I am somewhat salty this was not animated exactly like this in the original show’s first airing.
Plus the hug she gives to both of them in the same chapter shows how strong Their relationship is!

I normally don’t ever do animé reviews but for this FRANCHISE I am willing to make an exception actually this might be ending up being a rant then anything else and I can already guess how the show will end by this point so why the hell not.
The set of games are all available for the PC and recently ported to the Vita Port. Please note there will be slight spoilery details from the games mentioned. I had really really high hopes for this show being a massive fan of the otome games that is based on I felt like I was watching the most boring reality TV show ever in a animé format.
“The project follows the musical careers and personal lives of several bands under the “Dynamic Chord” agency and music label”
This was the only thing missing from the episodes itself and it was severely lacking of it and with no heroine(s) the show tried to make it dramatic as possible with made up scenarios that make it seem so fake not natural compared to the establish history of them already…Reon and his parents divorce as well as a former relationship with his ex, Aki’s feelings towards someone who he should not have for, Tsumugi’s lack of trust in a romantic relationship due to a betrayal in a former band, Kuon’s not letting go of a girl he knew from his middle school days, Narumi’s former love and a current one as he tries to move on with his career and Yuusei’s illness that could rob him of his hearing etc.
And those watching for the first time won’t know any of this or find anything to get attached to about the characters—they could of done these in flashbacks or a glimpse of it since according to the current episode the animé is supposedly 3 years after Revé Parfait debut in their high school days yet we see none of that which I’m pretty sure by now they are in University yet there is none of that.
“Animation and Music”
Between the pointless pan and zooms of random scenery and food (or the guys eating the food for no reason). There is even one of a car turning down the road for some reason. The animation is really detailed and gorgeous wish the same could be said for the guys as the animation for them can be really not so decent at times for them in certain frames.
Even the supposed music scenes are repeated I don’t know if that was a stylistic choice or trying to copy the game’s music videos.
I don’t know if I can really enjoy seeing all the bands clips being repeated for the remaining episodes in this same format with really bright lights and lack of actual Concerts or any LIVE performances of any sort as nice as the music and the characters is I’m hoping to see a actual live concert by the final episode and not just a 10-30 seconds take.
I feel like the show episodes would of been better as a short series form rather then a 24 minute length as the writing and screen time for the characters are all over the place and not very balanced. I still don’t even understand the purpose of the reporter who seems to be giving more prominent of a role for some strange reason.

Eizen takes it upon himself to give Velvet a true name (who is now a Malak/Seraph) and is not taking any suggestions from a very naughty Bienfu and a teasing Rokurou while Eleanor just watches the mayhem unfolds with Laphicet.

Unlikely Explanation
“Oh you guys are finally back!” A flustered Benwick hurriedly came up to us at the docks.
“What’s the matter Benwick? Where are Velvet and Eizen? Why aren’t you and the crew on board the Van Eltia?”
“That’s the thing Laphicet–Eizen asked us to get off and wait here until you three returned, while he and Velvet needed to take the ship to do something, the both of them didn’t say what, but when they left, they weren’t really happy.”
“Strange–it isn’t like them, well Eizen maybe, Velvet definitely not.”
We all watched as Eleanor started to ponder why Eizen and Velvet were acting so strange.
“Maybe he took Velvet out on a DATE.”
“…….”
“Don’t joke about this Rokurou! This is serious!” Eleanor suddenly out-bursted at his remark.
“But I AM serious–what else is a guy like Eizen and someone like Velvet suppose to do on a tropical island?”
“Hey guys what’s a date?”
Laphicet suddenly spoke while looking at all three of us, with his gaze going from Me, Rokurou and Benwick eagerly waiting for an explanation.
“Well you see Laphicet–A date is something where adults go and have FUN.”
“I see–So Eizen and Velvet are having “FUN”.
“Rokurou–you say another word about this to Laphicet, I’m going to start ignoring you from here on out!”
“Ouch, Eleanor that’s cold.”
“Sorry to break up your lover spat guys–but look!”
We all looked in the direction Benwick was pointing and there were Eizen and Velvet and a disgruntled Magilou tied to the front of the Van Eltia which left us speechless.
“HEY! You both can’t leave me tied up here! It’s INHUMANE! THIS IS WITCH DISCRIMINATION!”
“We are not human” The two of them spoke at the same time before heading over to us, ignoring Magilou who was still chattering away in the background to be let down.
“I’m afraid to ask–”
“Then don’t”. I winced as Velvet gave her usual cold stare.
“Velvet, Eizen–How was your date? Was it fun?”
Benwick’s Jaw dropped to Laphicet forwardness, as the two of them had the same facial expressions as if to say “Huh?”
“Laphicet–I don’t think that’s what they were doing” I secretly gestured to Rokurou–which the two just cast small glaces at each other.
“So sharks or eating?”
“Do you even have to ask?
“Sharks it is then.”
(A/N: Okay this has been sitting on me for awhile and I liked the sound of it–inspired by when the party are heading to Yseult to look for Magilou’s friend Grimoire both Velvet and Eizen chided Magilou for not to waste time with threats of either feeding her to the sharks or eating her XD) This is just one of the ideas I have them for them).

I need to make a fic of this.
Velvet and Eizen’s Final Battle Talk has her expressing concern for his well-being---because he had come into contact with Malevolence.
Her exact words being: “It’s a Valid Concern!” and then they just proceed to talk about his eventual fate as a dragon (among other things) and that she is glad to have join forces with him and the pirates.
So does that make Eizen the second protagonist then?

The epilogue of V3 is very open-ended from what I've read, and could go any which way really. I don't entirely believe it's the end though, would Saihara, Harukawa and Yumeno survived if that were the case?
The epilogue is indeed ambiguous at best setting itself for a possible sequel in the future or confirming that the series is at it’s end.
Them surviving beyond the epilogue? Nah–If they were planning to put an end to the other killing games out there without them getting murdered themselves it be entirely impossible, unless they pull a Naegi and not directly communicate with the new group of 16 students at the most I can see maybe one of them sacrifice themselves for the others maybe–as to who that will be it probably be Maki as she had two other people died for her so she lived so she would be the most likely candidate–however this doesn’t rule out Shuichi or Yumeno to turn up dead. So there fates at the most are unknown until more materials/games are released (even though we see them alive) too bad we didn’t get like an after-scene after the epilogue that would of been good actually.
(Not sure if you meant them surviving the epilogue or if the epilogue turned out differently would there be different survivors so I decided to add my two cents on this as well)
I believe the survivors would of been different pending Chapter 5 and the Final Chapter, they would of Been Shuichi, Kaito, Maki, Ouma, Kiibo and Yumeno with Chapter 5 being a re-trial for Amami’s and Kaede’s case instead of a murder victim and Chapter 6 would of been used for investigating the Mastermind (Which is still Tsumugi) and discovering who is behind this whole TV Series killing game (Which is Team Danganronpa the villains just use a different name and not make it obvious) not sure how this plot twist would work haha, I would probably need time to figure that out.

What is your view on V3's message and do you think Dangan Ronpa the franchise will continue?
Hmmm tough one.
V3′s “message” I think is rather interesting, it really goes even further into the rather grey morality that is the past Danganronpa games (Junko was secretly a terrorist, the SDR2 kids were her little helpers) and finally we got this—Several killing games in another killing game inspired by a fictional work, 53 times with the main cast in it for fame, money and well are suicidal not only that they pretty much represent anyone as a teenager.
I think the intended message for the franchise was not a case of “Burn it and run” but rather Kodaka wanted to give everyone a killing game and he did that (even in a very meta sense) I don’t think of his message as a take that to the cos-play and anime community as everyone in the real world is secretly someone else it’s only about time for something real nasty to bring out someone’s true colours they are simply just hiding and or simply put doing a cosplay. It’s called desperation no one is innocent or that nice, people will do what they have to do for anything.
All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.
I love this quote and I find it very accurate on V3 as a whole (thanks Shakespeare)
I think so with an ending like that there’s definitely gotta be one more game (if he makes another anime I will put darts to his picture before it airs) Hopefully it will be a proper sequel this time with Shuichi discovering another Killing Game (and an alternate Kaede, Amami and Hoshi exists out there some where in this killing game–it be a huge tear jerker if he has to watch them die twice.

NDRV3 FINAL THOUGHTS + REVIEW
Whew-finally finished it! A bit late for this but I can say this I’m very pleased with the game overall it’s a 7/8 in my book.
The BEST about this game is unlike the first two games it gave me a different feeling compared to the game’s predecessors where as they were pretty much the same of “OH MY GOD-THE MASTERMIND IS ONE OF THEM” or “FUCK WE ARE THE BAD GUYS!” still amazing twists by the way. I get into this more of this at the end let’s just start with the basics of style and soundtrack.
Everything was just so fluid and more flowing so real it felt as if I was like actually there in the game itself--it makes the 3D we have for movies look tame in comparison--anyway moving on, aesthetic wise it’s visually stunning to look at (I wanna know how many of you actually visited many of the places in the game itself just to see the places over and over again). Kodaka said the game was going to be a massive make over and it fits with the theme Psycho Cool, the characters designs also match the maturity of the game’s theme, I like the fact that unlike designs of Makoto and Hajime pretty much everyone looks relatively normal where as they were the only ones that seemed that way.
Okay the musical score Masafumi did a good job as always but was I impressed with the soundtrack? Only slightly--more a “ehh” or “meh” kind of feeling, I felt like some of them were just remixes of the original but they did provide some good tunes that is the series own.
OKAY NOW ON TO THE MAIN STORY--After I completed the game I did some searching to see what the reception was and wow it was pretty decisive between you guys some hate it, some love it, and the third and fourth camp either agree with the Japanese or remain neutral on the matter leaving it ambiguous as to what party will these opinions go to.
Just stating the facts first--Any thoughts that are solely on reading what everybody posting and watching streams that are translated with pending accuracy from different people should be taken with a grain of salt until it’s eventual English release as many people are basing opinions several things:
1.KAEDE HAS DIED--I DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.
2. THE ENGLISH AUDIENCE OPINIONS DON’T MATTER--ONLY THE JAPANESE CAN SAY THINGS, THEIR THOUGHTS ARE ONLY ONES THAT MATTER (I have been seeing people using this as an example like what you guys can’t think for yourself it’s sad, some even going outright admitting that only the Japanese matter and the English release will change nothing.)
3.SHIPPING REASONS (ENOUGH SAID)
Like it’s with all the characters Kaede and Rantarou are particularly the main target behind this as well as Ouma and Kiibo, like people are now listing the reasons they never cared less for the game and just the ships, that’s it.
4. I READ SO AND SO FROM SEVERAL POSTS OVER THE INTERNET--I NOW KNOW EVERYTHING.
...I don’t really need to explain this one now do I? It happened with the fake spoilers being spread by liars--people only have themselves to blame for believing the nonsense and getting themselves let down is one of the deciding factors for the game’s negativity. So combine this point with the others and what do you get people trying to make out the game is terrible and was no good and that it deserves to be dumped.
The game does not lack anything, neither does the writing suffer the one thing Kodaka managed to do was give all the characters screen time as we learn little things about everyone (I’m not talking about the Free Time Events) compared to the previous games were the characters we so hope to learn so much about don’t get any at all in the game or nothing beyond other sourced materials, everyone gets a moment throughout the game nobody is left out--However though there are some that should of been briefly explored a little more besides continuing flash-backs through out the game.
Now this where the negative stuff starts--I felt the formula of the murders were very very much to of the Hopes Peak Saga and Kodaka could of came up with something different, the victims however some were very different and didn’t stay the same for the final survivor count, I was pleased when Kodaka showed that not everyone was going to have plot armour which he failed to do for the anime itself.
Also the distraction of the old game characters coming up in the Final Part I didn’t really want to see any of them after awhile I was expecting this to be solely focused on the 16 students in this game only, even though they were delivered by a third party it doesn’t matter they were still there.
My Final words on this: KODAKA YOU ABSOULTEY MAD-MAN YOU ARE DOING THAT THING WHERE YOU DO SOMETHING THAT GETS EVERYBODY TO HATE YOU BUT THEY STILL LIKE YOU AT THE SAME TIME, IF I EVER MEET YOU I WANT TO THANK YOU BUT NOT BEFORE KICKING YOU IN THE BALLS YELLING OUT: SORE WA CHIAGU YO.
So yeah guys that’s it really--I would definitely recommend the game to be played it was worth it and definitely had me screaming at most things. The game was fantastic and I urge you guys to take a crack at the English Version.
I just like slapping things around searching for money.
Also staring at Rantaro’s ass ;)

So all in this could have been resolved in a non-dramatic manner maturely if people had just asked you and translators what was up.
Komaesa and a lot of people are giving Valwinz a hard time because of them translations! It's making a lot of fans upset over this and for DR3. I'm wondering how you are doing from this? From my theory, you gave him permission but took it back when he was already done with it and Komaesa is making his followers hate him! That's pretty effed up isn't it? Don't you feel angry from this?
Okay so I don’t like drama and I don’t really want to be in the middle of a bunch of it–here is what happened from my understanding.
A while back Valwinz asked to use my translations to sub the first voiced V3 trailer we got. At the time I didn’t know Comun had already been translating and subbing them so I said sure, so long as they got double-checked since I wasn’t super confident in that particular translation. People ask to use my stuff all the time and generally I don’t mind letting them so long as it’s not causing an issue for someone else.
Basically right there we had a misunderstanding: I thought we were just talking about 1 video and he thought it meant blanket permission.
I hadn’t heard anything about it again til today–I don’t really follow anything on YouTube because, well, time (Nate manages all the stuff on our Youtube Channel). I added a disclaimer to the post last night not to use it for subs since Comun was planning to sub in his translation not too long after, but Valwinz was under the impression he had permission to use the translations in general, so there was confusion.
We already worked it out this morning–seems like it was mostly crossed-wires kind of stuff, which is kind of my fault for not being clear, and I apologize for that.
Like I said, I don’t particularly want to be embroiled in a bunch of ancillary drama, especially since it seems like a lot of it predates me being really active in the fandom. I’d rather be left out of that since honestly I have neither the time nor the energy to get involved. Today especially I have family stuff going on that is taking much more of a priority.
We worked out the part that relates to me so no need to worry about that. I’ll try to be more clear about stuff in the future so mix-ups like this can be avoided.
