"The ibis is, along with the baboon, the sacred animal of the god Thoth...[the statuette's] body is made of wood covered with fine white plaster. Its head bearing the atef-crown, long neck, tail feathers and legs were all cast in silver. The ibis’ eyes, inlaid in black glass and stucco, seem to bring the creature to life."

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) male, Xanthistic, family Cardinalidae, order Passeriformes, AL, USA
Xanthism (or Xanthochromism) - an animal is mostly yellow, instead of its normal coloration (Usually because it is lacking other pigements that are normally present in that species).
Male Northern Cardinals are usually red.

Wooden foot-stool from the Tomb of Tutankhamun with varied prisoners depicted in bondage, the traditional enemies of Egypt, "The Nine Bows".
Discovered within the antechamber of the Boy King's tomb (KV62), the stool is one of many wooden furnishes discovered, and is inlaid with faïence and decorated with gilded gold.
Now in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. JE 62046

Today i found some Green-Head ants, they are super pretty! fed em some of my spaghetti bolognaise, though i always forget thay they have very painful stings.. Sadly didnt get a photo, so enjoy this one off the internet!!
they normally look black but if you put them in the sunlight they are beautiful, definitely one of my favourite ants; i really hope to have my own colony one day.
