Well, here we go:
Yes, in the year 20-fecking-21 I am starting a [side]blog for all my favorite interactive fiction/visual novel stuff.
To be quite honest, I’ve been a “lurker” of fic and art and general discourse for a while, and reluctant to engage in active fandom because so often I find it frustrating and tiring. But this past year, when I was cut off from having much of a social life, this media (the original and the fan-made) was a godsend. I’ve spent a silly amount of time and money living in these games/stories, and despite the faults either minor or major that any one of them might have, it all gave me a respite-- an alternative life-- for just a little while.
AND, as I’ve decided 2021 is going to be my Year of Gratitude, I’m going to let go of whatever fear or snobbery was previously stopping me from sharing what I like, and I’m gonna promote the hell out of all your amazing and hilarious and talented work.
