Reasons why eating less is beneficial: 1) Saves you TONS of money on food. I cut my grocery cost by over half by eating healthier things (lean meats, fruits, and veggies) AND decreasing my portions. 2) You lose the weight so quick. You have experts say you need to do this, and do that, and make sure you’re eating this, and don’t eat that. Reality is, its ALL ABOUT CALORIES. If you consume less, you weigh less. Its math, that’s it. So become obsessed with decreasing the number of calories so the number on the scale gets lower as well. 3) You start to ENJOY and APPRECIATE your food. Never in my life did I appreciate food like I do now. You chew every bite like it was your last. Everything really does taste better. Even the stuff you used to hate. 4) It helps you build strong will power and boosts your self confidence. You are stronger than any cookie or candy bar. You will not be tempted by that bag of chips. You said “no” to countless bad cravings and you get to stand proud. If you can do that, then… Well… You really can do anything. 5) And finally, you prove to yourself that you’re important. Now, I know a lot of weight loss/thinspiration/Ana posts usually have a dark side to them. They talk about hating yourself and putting yourself down. But that’s only a temporary thing. Once you REALLY get there, and you finally hate your body less and less you can breathe. You put in SO much effort and it paid off. You did it for YOU. You’re so much more important than the others who told you you couldn’t do it. More important than any amount of temporary satisfaction from unnecessary calories. You are the most important thing, ever.

An occasional binge doesn’t hurt, in fact it’s quite beneficial if you have reached a plateau (stopped losing weight). Your body will think you have stopped starving yourself, and you will drop at least a pound overnight! Just don’t binge too regularly!
