Quote
I’m almost never serious, and I’m always too serious. Too deep, too shallow. Too sensitive, too cold hearted. I’m like a collection of paradoxes.
Ferdinand de Saussure (via fyp-philosophy)

Unpopular Opinion
If you’re offended by people wanting to wear bindis, people wanting to listen to rap or wear cornrows, or people letting their children wear kimonos; Stop eating at restaurants that are NOT YOUR culture. Stop listening to any music that isn’t your specific culture. Stop listening to artists that aren’t your race. Stop having fetishes for other races. Stop watching inter-racial porn. Stop drawing inter-racial porn. Don’t watch anime. Stop dressing your kids as pirates because they’re not white. Don’t read manga. Stop imitating manga in art. Stop drawing hentai. Don’t learn other languages. Stop dressing your kids up as ninjas. Don’t drink green tea. Stop drinking coffee. Don’t read books that originate from other countries. Don’t buy art made from other countries. When you tell people they can’t wear what they want because they aren’t XYZ, you are immediately segregating races. You are immediately causing racial or ethnic tension just because you want to be a special snowflake. When you tell people they can’t do something because it’s something THEY aren’t, YOU ARE OBJECTIFYING AND STEREOTYPING ETHNICITY AND RACE. When you say, don’t ___, YOU ARE CREATING A STEREOTYPE. When people want to eat lumpia, or wear the Filipino flag, or support Manny Pacquiao, I am not offended. I am not offended because they are enriching themselves, and it shows THEY ARE INTERESTED BY MY CULTURE. To me this is a compliment, and shows that they are not close minded by sticking to their preset culture.  I like it when people are not bound by some overly sensitive and pretentious boundary. And I don’t understand how people can get offended by someone wanting to wear something or be something “they’re not”, since most of you are just as fake anyway.
