CICADA [AUDIOBOOK]
The AUDIO-story of the little poem that could…
…and just continues to!
From original idea to letterpress broadside to social media and now in AUDIO, it’s the world’s favorite Hosho McCreesh poem. Both he and Sean Lynch tell the moving true story behind Cicada — originally published as a letterpresses broadside and having since spread all over the English-reading world by the operatives and patrons of Guerrilla Poetics Project. It’s true story of the how and the when and the why of its writing, read by the author,, sharing just how far this little poem has traveled. DrunkSkull Books is proud to present this niche non-fiction audiobook by Sean Lynch and Hosho McCreesh.
Read by the author Available at most audiobook retailers ISBN: 978-1-952010-05-7 Release Date: 28 February, 2025 If you don’t see a link to your preferred retailer, let me know — as I am trying to add more as they go live!

Introducing the Annual DrunkSkull Books T-Shirt, 2025 Edition
Here at the HQ we only STEAL FROM THE BEST! So we’ve decided that — starting, well, now — as part of our ever-evolving schtick, we’re offering an annual DrunkSull Books T-Shirt design. Say hello to 2025’s!
Why, you ask? Well, think of it as the best way we can think of for you (and any other witty, insightful, righteous, and cosmopolitan small press fan out there) to help support the general hijinks and tomfoolery we get up to around here, while also dazzling the keen-eyed fashionistas and book-fiends in your home town! And even though we’re knee-deep in the planning of an A HUMBLE PROJECT or two, we reluctantly admit that we’ve been pretty darn quiet these past couple years. So a fun way to say, “hey there” with a snazzy chingadera seemed long overdue. Despite our radio silence, this past year we’ve managed to put out more DRUNK POEM ANIMATIONS from A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST, and found a couple ways to KEEP BOOKS DANGEROUS. So you helping us chase our cheapjack dreams while also getting some pretty rad gear in return — heck, that just feels like a win/win!
Plus, we certainly don’t mind having an excuse to create something new each year, so that we — like so many of our artistic heroes — are never tempted to rest on our laurels. We happen to dig the idea of taking stock…a reckoning of sorts…to make sure we’re keeping folks on their toe-tats! Plus, if you ever find me out-and-about somewhere while wearing one of our annual T-shirts…well, I’d pretty much be morally obligated to reward you for your support, now wouldn’t I?! Anyroad, it’ll be available in the store for a while — but once it’s gone, it’s gone…so plan accordingly!

6 Year Anniversary of this BANGING interview!
I’d forgotten just how great this interview was. And how criminally under-read it was (probably because it seems I neglected to link to it anywhere — ugh!). And where else but BULL would there be such a far-ranging and well-considered exploration of some of the toxic-masculinity and other dark themes on display in CHINESE GUCCI? Honestly, looking back at this makes me feel good! Benjamin really understood a lot of what the book was about. He did his homework and prepped some interesting and insightful questions. Truly, shame on me for missing out on promoting this way back when. Things like that make me feel pretty dumb. I mean, who knows what else I’ve missed on?! Anyhow, maybe do me a favor and set aside 15 or so minutes to give this thing the proper read it never got back in 2019!
