The road to Forks is a familiar one, even after two years. Evergreen trees blur past your window, their towering forms casting long shadows over the asphalt as your car hums along the highway. You didn’t realize how much you missed this stretch of Highway 101 till now–how the trees leaned in like close friends, how the air smelled like rain (because of course it does), how the damp air curled in through the cracked window and made everything smell like pine needles and rain. Your fingers tap against the steering wheel following the beat of the radio, restless.
Your phone buzzes in the passenger seat.
Jake: You close yet?
A smile tugs on your lips. You can practically hear the impatience in his text.
You: Like 20 min out. Chill
Jake: Chill?? I’m literally pacing right now
You roll your eyes but a smile tugs on your lips. Jacob Black has always been like this–all energy, no patience. Some things never change.
Jacob Black. Your best friend since before you could spell your own name. You had shared everything with him growing up–scraped knees, projects in his garage, secret forts built from moss and driftwood down by First Beach. And as you drive past The City of Forks Welcomes You sign, your chest warms.
The last time you were here, you were fourteen, saying goodbye with a promise of a visit. Your dad’s job pulled your family to the buzz of Kirkland, where everything was cleaner, faster, and more modern. But life got in the way, as it does–school, your dad’s new job, the four-hour distance between Kirkland and Forks. Still, you and Jake kept in touch. Late-night calls, stupid texts, the occasional letters (because Jake thought it was funny to mail you doodles of his terrible car sketches and self-portraits). Still, Forks was yours in the way it mattered and now, thanks to your parents’ sudden, nostalgic purchase of a cozy summer house on the edge of town, it could be again.
You weren’t the same girl who had left, and from his photos, he wasn’t the same Jacob, either. He’d grown taller, broader. His baby face and chubby cheeks you used to pinch sharpened into somethin old, something you didn’t quite know how to name. And still–he was Jacob. Your best friend.
But now, you’re back.
Your parents arrived yesterday to get the house ready and you had stayed behind to finish packing, insisting on driving yourself. You needed the time to think and to tame your nerves.
Because Jake is… Jake.
When you were kids, it was simple. He was the little boy who taught you how to skip rocks, who let you steal bites of his fry bread at the rez cookouts he would invite you to, who tried to feign annoyance but eventually grin when you called him Jakey just to annoy him.
But now? You’re not sure who he is. What you guys are.
Your phone buzzes again.
Jake: I’m at your house btw
Jake: Tick-tock you better not be bailing on me
You scoff.
You: ?????
Jake: Your mom said I could wait for you so hurry up
Of course he was. You groan, but your pulse kicks up anyway.
Tumblr media
You could see your parents were already inside the house by the time you pulled up–a modest, moss-draped place tucked between pines, just off a gravel road. Your parents’ car is parked out front. Right next to it is a black motorcycle.
Your stomach flips.
Slowly, you pull into the driveway right behind the already car park, take a deep breath, and step out. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and pine needles. The front door is slightly ajar and you push it open.
“Mom? Dad?” No answer. You drop your bags in the foyer and head up the stairs, looking for your room at the end of the hall–
And then you see him.
Jake is leaning against your bedroom door frame, arms crossed, impatiently tapping his foot. He’s taller. A lot taller. His shoulders are broader, his frame more solid than the lanky boy you remember, and his hair was shorter now, shaggier, like he hadn’t bothered with it much. And when you made eye contact, his face looked at you like he’d forgotten how to breathe and something passed between you in the silence.
“Hey,” you said. Your voice came out softer than you meant it to.
“Took you long enough,” his face twitches slightly and he snaps out of whatever trance he was in, now grinning like he’s just won something.
“Shut up,” you reply, but you’re smiling.
He pushes off the doorframe and closes the distance between you in two strides. He pulled you into a hug that wrapped around your whole body. His warmth is immediate and almost startling, like standing in front of a bonfire. His hand lingered at your back a moment longer than necessary, but you don’t mind. You missed him. A lot.
“I missed you,” he murmured into your hair.
You smile against his chest. “Missed you too, Jakey.”
He exhales sharply and chuckles, like the words punched the air out of him. Then, slowly, his arms tighten around you.
“You still gonna call me that?” his voice is low, but there’s that familiar teasing lilt in it.
You pull away from him and look up to meet his eyes, smirking. “Mhm. Deal with it.”
He snorts. “You’re lucky I like you.”
“Please,” you say, stepping back with a grin. “You’d cry if I stopped, just like how you always did.”
“Only a little,” he shoots back, and there’s a spark in his eyes now, brighter than you remember. You’re not sure what it is–relief, maybe, or him just being awkward and shy.
Before you can reply, the sound of the front door creaking wider makes both of you glance down the stairs.
“Sweetie?” your mom calls up. “Is Jake still here?”
He winces slightly, already backing toward the stairs. “I should probably–”
“You’re staying for dinner!” she shouts before he can finish.
You blink. “Wow, ambushed.”
“I’ve been here ten minutes, she’s already planning the menu,” Jake mutters under his breath, then louder: “Uh–I mean, I don’t want to intrude–”
“Nonsense! You’re basically family.” your mom responds brightly.
He glances back at you, eyebrows raised, lips twitching like he’s holding back a smile. “You set me up.”
“I did not. She just knows you too well. Besides, you’re the one that came her before I even got to Forks.” Jake just shakes his head and shoots you a glare, muttering something under his breath as he follows you down the stairs. You can feel the energy buzzing off him–slightly nervous, but trying not to show it. He’s still smirking like an idiot, but it’s more to himself now, like he can’t quite believe he’s here again either. With you, in person, not over text or call.
The house smells like Mrs. Meyers lemon cleaner and whatever your mom is preparing in the kitchen. Jake hesitates in the foyer, glancing toward the kitchen like he's debating a quick escape, but your mom appears before he can make a move. She wraps him in a hug like no time has passed and Jake stiffens for just a second before relaxing into it, careful and gentle in a way that makes you smile softly.
“You grew up on us,” she says, pulling back to look him over. “Look at you!”
Jake rubs the back of his neck, cheeks flushed but smiling. “Still the same guy. Just a bit taller.”
“A bit? You always did shoot up like a weed,” she laughs, already turning back toward the kitchen. “Hope you’re hungry. We’ve got enough to feed a whole pack.”
He blinks at her words and nods. “Yeah. Starving.”
And then your dad strolls in from the backyard, wiping his hands on a rag, the scent of grass and sprinkler water trailing behind him. “Well, well, well. If it isn’t the only kid in this town I trust near a sprinkler system. Bet you could fix ours without even looking at it.”
“I’m your guy.” he smiles, rubbing the back of his neck again. It was always a small habit you noticed he did when he felt awkward, shy, or nervous.
Your dad claps him on the shoulders as he passes. “Glad to see you again, kid.”
And just like that, he is. Wrapped into the space like he’s always belonged, fitting in the rhythm of it, even if the walls are different. Even if everything is different.
You watch him as he sinks into the chair next to yours, still buzzing a little like he doesn’t know where to put all the energy. He’s quiet now, but not in a bad way–more like he’s soaking it in, anchoring himself to something familiar. You slide a glass of water toward him and he takes it without looking, but his fingers brush yours for half a second too long.
And while he’s still Jake, it’s not exactly the same. But neither are you.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
your eyes meet the window of your dimly-lit bedroom, the grey clouds overhead constantly promising rain. since moving to the little town of forks eight months ago, you can’t seem to escape it—and you can’t seem to escape jacob black either.
you had been friends with him when you were little, since your father and his father were friends, but when you moved back to your hometown seventeen years later he was very excited to see you again. you never expected for it to go this way. you never expected to fall in love with him.
finally, your eyes meet his. jacob is kneeling before you, his hands holding your bare knees and his thumbs rubbing loving circles into your skin. he’s got a love-struck expression on, staring into your eyes like you’re something to be admired as you stand half-naked in front of him.
and god knows he wants you. you see it in his eyes.
jacob breathes your name quietly. hopefully. indirectly asking your permission before he goes through with what you both know he wants to do. you smile, running your right hand through his short, black hair before nodding at him. you always found it funny how he likes to act so damn tough around his friends. you know that the moment you're with him, alone, he melts.
the nod is all he needs. jacob swallows, his eyes moving from your eyes to your body before he leans in and starts pressing kisses to your thighs, and your pelvis, focusing entirely on you. during the day, he can worry about the pack and about what sam thinks of him all he wants. at night, he’s yours. he is fully devoted to you.
you sigh quietly, the pleasure beginning to build in your lower stomach as his hands slide up toward your thighs, gripping them just a little bit tighter. your jeans and underwear bunch around your ankles, giving him all the room he needs for when suddenly his mouth connects to your pussy, beginning to swirl around and suck on you eagerly. jacob moans against you muffledly, enjoying your taste.
you moan gently and gasp his name, your grip tightening around his hair. it would be a miracle if he still had any of it by the end of this.
jacob grins against you. he's happy doing this, giving you all the pleasure he can. and you’re definitely happy to be on the receiving end.
“taste s’good.” he murmurs, the vibration of his voice against your throbbing pussy making you bite your lip. your thighs tremble around his head, evoking a quiet laugh from jacob, a little muffled-sounding against your clit. you look down at him and he’s got that stupid grin on his face that lets you know he’s real damn pleased with himself.
he pulls away, glancing at your pussy and then up at your face.
“i got you. c’mon.” he whispers before attaching his mouth right back onto you, hands holding onto your hips now. his eyes flutter shut as he laps you up. every little move and gesture he makes causes the pleasure building in your gut to reverberate, time and time again. he takes his time with you. he savours you.
soon, the warm pleasure you had been experiencing increases tenfold and you're grabbing at his head, feeling him move it back and forth to give you just that little bit more. you moan and whine as it all washes over you and for a second there, you swear you’ve seen heaven.
jacob smirks happily, his eyes rolling back just a little bit. he’d never admit how much he loves when you grip his hair just like that.
“yes..”, he murmurs against you blissfully. “come..”
jacob rides out your orgasm with you, continuing to eat you out until you’ve come down from it and then, only then, does he finally pull away.
he’s smiling. damn him and his contagious smile. with a soft and satisfied laugh, you kneel down to meet him on the floor as he grabs your hands and kisses you. he loves you loudly and proudly.
after a moment, he finishes the kiss with a pleased giggle and presses his forehead against yours. something about the way that jacob is smiling lazily at you lets you know that this will certainly not be a one-time occurrence.

Jenny's POV
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 I stepped out of Sidney’s jeep and walked up the porch to the front door of Emily’s house. It was a cute cabin since only she and Sam lived there. I could see why Sidney loved Emily so much. She has that motherly aura that makes everyone she meets feel welcome. Sidney knocked on the door, opened it, and we stood there in the living room.
“Mother, I’m home!” Sidney called out.
“In the kitchen.” We hear a voice reply.
As we walked into the kitchen and sat around the table, I saw a petite woman bent over, taking muffins out of the oven. She sat them on the stove and turned to see us sitting there.
Tumblr media
“Oh, visitors.” She had a look of excitement on her face. “Hello, I’m Emily. It’s nice to meet you, girls.”
I smiled at the older woman before introducing myself and the girls: “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Jenny, and these are Raelynn and Audrey.”
“Oh, wait. Are you the one who had the babies?” Emily asked, looking at Raelynn.
“Yes, that’s me,” Raelynn replied, smiling at her.
The woman clapped her hands together in excitement. “Finally, just give me one minute.
Emily darted out of the kitchen and headed upstairs from the sound of her footsteps frantically running on the hardwood floors. I looked at Sidney questionably with my eyebrow raised.
“She was adamant about getting Raelynn a gift for the twins. I told her she didn’t have to, but she insisted.” Sidney explained, shrugging her shoulders.
“Ah, gotcha,” I replied, nodding my head.
Emily’s footsteps trot downstairs, and she appears in the kitchen with a gift bag. “Sidney said not to get you a gift, but what kind of person would I be if I didn’t?”
Raelynn smiled politely and accepted the gift before opening the bag and taking out what was inside. “Oh, thank you, Emily. It’s so cute.”
“I saw it in the shop and decided it would be perfect.” Emily smiled, nodding her head.
“Well, thank you. I appreciate it.” Raelynn smiled, nodding her head.
“You’re more than welcome.” Emily cheerfully replied, nodding her head.
“Why’s she so chipper?” I asked, leaning over to whisper to Sidney.
“It’s her personality,” Sidney replied, shrugging her shoulders. “She’s nice to everyone she meets.”
“Noted.” I nodded, tapping my nails on the table.
The girls and I continued discussing the most random things we could think of. Suddenly, the delicious smell of strawberry muffins hit my nose as Emily placed a basket on the table. A smile came to my face as I grabbed one, biting into the fresh baked goods.
Tumblr media
“Mm, these are delicious, Em.” Sidney complimented, smiling at the woman.
“Yeah, these are amazing,” I replied, nodding in agreement with my friend.
“Thank you.” Emily praised, turning to the stove to continue cooking.
We started conversing again, bringing up random topics and laughing at the stories each of us told. All of us females were having an excellent time until loud laughter rang through my ears. Instantly, I knew it was none other than the pigs besides Leah. The first to enter was Sam, who approached Emily and kissed her scarred cheek. After him, Embry came in and couldn’t take his eyes off Sidney.
One by one, each pack member piled into the kitchen, Paul and Jared being the horny assholes that they are, from what Sidney told me.
“Sidney, why didn’t you tell us your friends are cuties?” Paul asked, staring at Jenny, who had an apparent agitated facial expression.
“Paul, do you want me to call my sister?” Sidney replied, raising an eyebrow at him. He said nothing and stayed silent. “I didn’t think so.”
“You must be Leah. I’m Jenny.” I smiled, introducing myself.
“Nice to meet you.” Leah nodded, smiling at us.
“That’s Autumn, as you already know, and those two are Raelynn and Audrey,” I responded, pointing to my two other friends. “Raelynn is the one that had twins.”
“Do you all have imprints?” Leah asked, looking at the other girls.
“Yes, we do.” I nodded, answering her question.
“That’s nice.” She replied, averting her eyes away. I could tell that she held pain in her eyes.
From what Sidney told us, Leah and Sam dated throughout high school and were sweethearts until he became a wolf and imprinted on her cousin. She held onto that hurt and pain for years, watching them parade their affection in front of her and knowing that she couldn’t do anything about it. Being the caring person I am, I wanted to talk to her about it but chose not to. At least not right now.
“How long have you girls been friends?” Jared asked, staring at me.
“For four years,” I answered, picking at my chipping nail polish.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” Paul questioned, leaning his head on his hand.
“Now, why is that any of your business?” I asked, cocking my head to the side.
“I was just curious.” He responded, shrugging his shoulders.
“Well, you know what they say: curiosity killed the cat,” I replied, smirking at him. “Besides, don't you have a girlfriend or imprint?”
“I’m only trying to be nice,” Paul replied, trying to justify his point.
“Well, I’m not the person you'd want to be nice with.” I rebutted, cocking up the corner of my mouth.
Paul stared me in the eyes but decided to step away and grab a muffin from the basket. It serves him fucking right for disrespecting his mate. I despised guys like him: they have a girlfriend but always want to meet new fish in the sea. I had a feeling that Paul would be a problem.
Tumblr media
Roughly an hour later, everyone got acquainted. Of course, we girls ignored Paul and Jared, whom I wanted to punch hard. To the point, my hand was itching. Sam came from outside urgently, catching everyone’s attention.
“I just got a call from Billy. He said Bella’s been blowing up their house phone all day.” He said, looking at the guys.
I glanced at Sidney and the girls, and they all had the same look as me. As the guys got up to leave, we stood, too.
“Where are you guys going?” Jared asked, pointing at us.
“With you guys. I may not be on speaking terms with my father, but he’s still family, and if that bitch does anything to him, she’s history.” Sidney replied, seriously shrugging her shoulders. “We can meet you there.”
“Let’s go,” Sam said, nodding to the front door.
On the inside, I was excited because I would finally meet this Bella chick who made Sidney’s life a living hell. The girls and I climbed into Sidney’s red jeep. She started the car and drove away from Emily’s house. On the ride there, I could see Sidney’s hands clenching the steering wheel to the point her knuckles were white. I cringed at the smell of her anger leaking out of her pores.
Arriving at Billy Black’s house, we saw a damaged truck parked outside, and from the look on Sidney’s face, I knew the vehicle belonged to Bella. Bella stood in the doorway talking to Sidney’s dad, but the sound of us closing the car doors made her turn to see us.
Tumblr media
“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” Sidney’s voice bellowed, echoing throughout the outside. Her voice vibrated everything that the birds flew away.
“I-I have to talk to J-Jake.” Bella stuttered, pushing past Billy to Jacob’s location within the house, but she looked scared.
At that point, the guys came trotting through the trees, and we heard Bella leave out the back door and start walking to them. We went over to get a clear view of Bella pushing Paul.
“He didn’t want this!” She yelled as her breathing became labored.
“Listen, sweetheart, you have one more time to put your hands on him. I may not like him, but you will NOT do that before me.” I jumped in, pointing my finger at her.
“Who the hell are you?” Bella questioned, staring at us in confusion.
“You’re worst fucking nightmare.” I seethed, stepping toward the bitch, but Raelynn pulled me back.
“I’d suggest you leave the premises if you know what’s good for you,” Autumn warned, holding onto Sidney’s arm.
“No! He didn’t want this!” Bella yelled, getting in Paul’s face.
Hearing that statement, the guys laughed. “What did he tell you, huh Bella?”
Suddenly, the next thing that happened went into slow motion. Bella brought her hand back and punched Paul in the face. He deserved it, but she had no right to put her hands on him. I gasped in shock, and the guys stared at him before wrapping my hair into a bun. Paul huffed and puffed like a big bad wolf and shifted into his wolf, growling at her.
As he stalked toward her, Jacob ran out of the house. “Bella!”
She scrambled on the ground as Paul growled her way. Bella jumped to her feet and ran toward Jacob. “Run! Jake, run!”
Before she knew it, Jacob phased into his wolf and roared at Paul. Bella had a look of horror in her eyes but also confirmation. Before anyone could react, Paul and Jacob shifted into their wolves, their teeth bared, and they growled at each other. The more I stared at this bitch, the angrier I got as I thought about the shit she did to Sidney years ago.
I saw an opportunity and tied my hair into a ponytail before slowly walking toward her. The girls didn’t stop me as I wheeled my arm back and swung my fist into Bella’s ugly face. My hand connecting to her face echoed an audible crack throughout the air. She cried out in pain, scrambling away from me, but she didn’t stand a chance. It felt relieving to finally get my hands on her for bullying Sidney.
Bella tried to run, but I grabbed her by her dry ass hair and hit her dead in her mouth. When she fell to the ground, I got on top of her and socked her as good as I could as she shielded her face. By now, blood was leaking out of Bella’s nose, and her lip had a pretty gnarly cut on it. One of the guys in Sam’s pack named Jared tried to step in and pull me off, but Sidney stopped him.
“Don’t you fucking dare touch her!” Sidney growled, making his step back. I feel her hands on me and her voice in my ears. “Come on, Jenny, that’s enough.”
Huffing, I stood up and grinned at the bitch curled up in a ball on the ground. She shouldn’t have messed with Sidney and thought she could get away with it.
“Take Bella to Emily’s place,” Sam ordered his minions, staring at us.
Jared and Embry helped Bella off the ground and carried her to her beat-up truck.
Sidney’s POV
As Embry and Jared helped a bloody Bella in her vehicle, I stared at my mate the entire time. I find it funny that she thought she wouldn’t face the consequences of bullying me all those years ago and get away with it. Glancing at the house, my father gazed at me as I climbed into my car and drove away. Once we got far from my dad’s house, I still thought about what Bella did, and my blood started boiling. So much that I started shaking.
“Okay, Sidney, pull over now.” Autumn sternly said, putting her hand on my shoulder.
My blood was boiling so high that I started shaking. I managed to stop my vehicle, unbuckle my seatbelt, and step out. Opening the door, I paced, huffing and puffing, trying to calm myself down before I hurt someone.
“Sidney, go run.” Raelynn’s voice echoed in my mind.
Looking at them, they nodded, telling me it was okay, and I took off through the trees. I dodged logs on the ground and pushed myself harder to run faster.
‘ Meet us at the house. ‘
Autumn's voice echoed throughout my mind through our link. I growled, pumping my feet harder as I sped up. Adrenaline coursed through my entire body as I pushed myself harder to run faster. When I made it home, I didn't know what time it was, but I knew it was in the evening since the sun was going down. The girls sat on the steps, waiting for me as I emerged from the trees.
Since the guys were inside, I shifted to my human form, groaning as my bones popped and rearranged. Autumn stood and tossed me some clothes, and I slipped them on before following them inside the house. The delicious aroma of dinner trailed in my nose, making my stomach growl.
"What's for dinner?" I asked, rubbing my hand through my hair.
"Crispy baked honey jerk barbecue chicken wings with broccoli and macaroni and cheese," Jenny replied, wrapping her arm around my neck.
Entering the dining room, I saw the guys sitting at the table, patiently waiting to eat. I smiled, sat at the head of the table, and motioned for my pack to dig in. Of course, the guys chowed down without hesitation, stuffing their faces with food. Looking down at my plate, I couldn't believe how good it looked.
Tumblr media
"So, who cooked?" I questioned, biting into a chicken wing.
"Autumn, Raelynn, and Audrey," Drew answered with a mouth full of food.
"That makes sense. The food looks and tastes amazing." I complimented, making the girls grin from ear to ear.
"Thank you." They said in unison as they ate their meal.
Soon, the table filled with laughter and conversation as everyone conversed with each other. Once the guys cleared dinner, they washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I headed upstairs to my room and entered the bathroom, where I turned on the shower. After gathering my clothes, I returned to the running water and stripped off my clothes. The hot water felt astounding, hitting my skin and loosening my overly tense muscles.
After standing under the shower head for ten minutes, I washed up and stepped out. I dried off, slipped on my pajamas for the day, and walked to my bedroom. I tossed the extra pillows on the floor before sleeping comfortably on the bed.
The sound of a distant howl woke me from my slumber. I jumped up, thinking it was one of my pack members, but when I went to the window, I saw Embry standing in wolf form. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I stared at him. I quickly left my room and raced downstairs before exiting the house. My mate went behind a tree and returned in human form, only wearing black shorts.
"What are you doing here, Embry?" I asked, running my hand through my hair.
"I wanted to see you." He answered, stepping closer to me.
Unable to control myself, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. Although his pack and I have tension, that doesn't mean I have to. Embry's my mate, and I'm his, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
"Do you perhaps want to stay the night? You can leave before the sun comes up." I questioned, hoping he'd say yes.
"Of course, I would." Embry nodded, smiling at me.
Grasping his hand, I pulled my mate into the house and my bedroom behind me. He looked around in awe at the appearance. I climbed back in bed as Embry did the same. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder as I wrapped mine around his torso.

Competitive Diving
Tumblr media
pairing: (college jocks) wolf pack x (college student! competitive diver) female reader
summary: they thought diving off a board was nothing but now when they actually had to do it, welp their all hesianting.
warning: not proofread
word count: 647
It’s easy, they said. No effort needed, they said. Absolutely nothing to be afraid of, they said. Hah well that’s not exactly how they are feeling right now. Since the boys always like to tell you that competitive diving is nothing compared to the rugged sports activities they do, you decided to bring them to practice. Before getting into the water, you and the guys all got changed. “Alrighty! Get into the water!” You shouted, and they did. “Oh my god! It’s cold!” Jake whined, shivering as his arms hugged his sides. “Well what do you expect? Gotta get used to it!” You smiled evilly down at them before walking up to one of the diving boards. This one started out ten feet tall off the water, and you jumped off it like it was nothing. “Get in line boys! Let’s start off with the basics!” Clapping your hands in the water, they all shared the same nervous look.
But oh leave it Paul with his big mouth. “Hah screw the basics! Let’s get to the fun part already?” Raising an eyebrow, you couldn’t help smirking. Alright, if that’s what they wish for, so be it. You pushed them all to the highest diving platform reaching up to a thousand feet above the air. “Is this even safe?” Embry asked, hands clinging onto the rails beside him as he fearfully looked down. You shrugged, “Relatively yeah, if you dive correctly. But if you don’t, you could snap your neck or break a rib or two.” The way you said it was so casual the guys thought you were joking. “So who's up first?”
“How about you give us an example first?” Jared said, his voice shaking far worse than his body. “Sure.” Their jaws dropped, you had the courage to do a backflip while diving. An elegant splash formed below you as you slowly resurfaced. “Come on! It’s not that bad!” They all gulp feeling like they bit off more than what they can chew. “I can’t do it!” Quil screeched. “What if I die?!”
Shaking your head, “You won’t! I promise!” Once again there is a pause in the air, having no other choice, you get out the water to slowly make your way up the tall platform. “Look just scooch your feet together so all the impact goes there, have your arms out like this and just go for it.” They all made the same movements as you hoping that they’ll survive. “Okay so I guess, Quil, you first!” His eyes widen as he tries running to the back of the group. But to his fruitless efforts, he was pushed to the front by the other boys. “Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! No!! I can’t do this!” Letting out an amused sigh, you stood next to him “Want me to go down with you?”
His ears perked up, “Really?” You nodded as both of you took positions and you counted down. “Okay, one. Two. And three!” You were amazed that he actually went for it. When he hit the water, there was a light sting to his feet but other than that, the adrenaline was making him wanna do it again. “Holy crap! You guys gotta try it!” The sudden boost in morale was beyond evident, however not without you diving with each of them. By the half hour mark, they were moving up the platform by themselves to try the new tricks and moves you were describing. They were having so much fun that they were yelled at by your coach for occupying the pool for too long since the other divers also needed to practice. “Oh come on guys! Cheer up! You’re always invited to my next practice if you want to come, that is?” Your hands were busy drying your body and hair as the boys all smiled at each other. “HELL YEAH!!!”

Supporting the Enemy's Team

pairing: (college jocks) wolf pack x (college student) female reader

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
The energy and excitement flowing throughout the campus was immeasurable these past couple of days since the football announcement of your college playing against its rival. Everyone is so hyped up, tickets were literally sold out within two days, and undoubtedly a lot of confident spouts among the students about how your college was going to win. The boys were unsurprisingly pumped as this was going to be their first season in the games. They were telling you about it even before the announcement was officially made. You couldn’t be any happier for them. They really worked hard this entire semester despite dealing with excruciating long lectures, endless exams, practices, and studying. Each and everyone of them earned their spots on their team. You were of course just as overjoyed as your classmates, but the thing was, you're not going to be there supporting your college’s team. And nobody knows that. No one, not even your closest friends know about this betrayal. You still love your college’s team, it's just that you have more connections to the rival team.
You’ve been a fan of their team ever since you were a little girl and watched the games on tv as well as in person with your family. It's also the same college your dad graduated from, therefore you would always be updated with the latest news of what is going on between scores. Nerves were tingling as the days went by. The boys were play-fighting more often as they continued exchanging insults towards the other team in a sportful way. You just sit in the middle of their couch enjoying your favorite beverage before they all turn their attention to you. “Hey, you’ll be at the games right, Y/N?” Seth asked excitedly, sitting next to you with his eyes glowing so bright you almost went blind. You took an extra few seconds longer to part from your drink as you pulled out a smile. “Yeah, of course I’ll be there, I wouldn’t miss it!” Hearing that answer, that got all the boys to start hugging you and some teasing going around about how you’ll be cheering for them in the stadium.
“Say, if you’re not doing anything tomorrow, wanna stop by and watch us practice?” Jared asked, before stuffing his mouth with a bag of chips. “Sure why not? What time?”
“Three in the afternoon.” Embry responded, he pulled out his phone to double check and thankfully he was correct. You smile slightly dropped, “Oh umm at three? Maybe? I’ll see hehe” Great! At three?! That was when you were going to see your team practice. The boys all gave each other curious gazes before pointing their attention back at you. “I thought you had nothing going on tomorrow?” Quil poked at you curiously. “Well I forgot I had a meeting with an old acquaintance.” Your sweating bullets and the boy could sense something was off. “Alright, what are you hiding?” Jake says as he raises a brow.
“Nothing.” You tried sounding calm as possible but with six jocks staring at you intently would make anyone start shaking nervously. “Yeah right, spit it out!” Embry leans his body weight on the couch. “Really, I’m not!” It was clear no one believed your bluff. “Well then… I guess you're not leaving till you tell us!” Paul announced as he put his entire body weight on you. “Oh my god! Get off me, Lahote! You're heavy!” He just laughs at your dramatic antics. “Guys come on, I really do have nothing to hide!” Unsatisfied with your answer, Paul stayed where he was anchoring you from escaping, the guys just sat around the couch and started playing a movie. As you sit there losing circulation in your legs, your phone starts buzzing. Unfortunately, you couldn’t see who it was due to Paul still comfortably laying on your lap. “Can you get off now?” You groaned tiredly. “Nope.”
“Seth, can you pass me my phone?” You begged and the boy relented only to have the device snatched out his hands. “Ooh who’s texting you at this late hour? You got a boyfriend we all don’t know about?” Jared joked as he turned the screen over to look at the name of the person. “Pretty Boy?!” He screamed, baffled that you would have someone under that nickname. “Damn?! Who is he?” Jake pressed on with the question. “I’m not telling!” You crossed your arms over your chest as you turned to look the other way. Right in that perfect moment, your savior has arrived. “What’s going on? What are you boys doing?!” Oh how you are happy to hear that familiar authoritative tone.
“Sam! Please help!” You cried out. “Paul, get off her. And what are you guys doing fooling around at this hour when we have a big game in the next three days?” Saddened but obeying, Paul parted ways with your lap. “I think I should get going!” You declared, only to nearly fall to the ground from the lack of blood flow in your legs. “Woah there! I gotcha!” Seth assured. “Thank you!” After a few minutes, you dashed out of their dorm to get back to yours. As you made it into your door, your phone buzzed. It was Jake. “This isn’t over yet!” You read, you shook your head. What a bunch of knuckleheads? Well they were only half correct. Pretty boy was Silas Moore, the star and lead player of your favorite team. His skills, sportsmanship, and personality are the best of the best has ever seen. You’ve only ever met him three times out of the semester (thanks to your dad’s connections) but he still gave you his contact. His teammates teased him about him having no one supporting him which was shut down after you fiery told them that you’ll be there for him. A bunch of good hearty laughs came out of that.
As you were lost in thought, thinking back about those precious encounters, your phone was buzzing you back into reality. “Hmm? OH SHIT! H-Hello?” You answered, holding the phone closely to your ear. “Hey, is everything alright? Just wanted to make sure you can make it to our practice tomorrow? If you’re still down, I can come pick you up. Just let me know what time I can come around?” Your brain malfunctioned for a second. “Yeah of course! Ummm I guess… two in the afternoon. Oh wait! I forgot but umm don’t park your car in front of my campus. Just park three blocks away and text me when you’re here! I’ll come over as soon as I can! But thank you, Silas!” You finally let out that breath as you heard him chuckling in amusement. “Alrighty, Y/N. Sleep tight. Bye!” Then he hung up.
Now you’re just rushing to get into your bathroom to prepare for bed knowing that if you don’t wake up early the boys would definitely come looking for you. Rejuvenated and refreshed, you hit the bed with alarms all set. It felt like an eternity before you heard the first alarm go off, you immediately sprang into action to get yourself ready. Less than ten minutes later, you were locking your door and running out of your dorm. Before completely leaving campus grounds you sent the guys a text. “Hey I’m not going to be on campus today. Feel free to update me with anything interesting! Love ya guys!”
At last, two o’clock finally hit, Silas was calling you. “Hey where are you at?” You asked. He got out of his car to wave at you. There he was. You ran to him with caution across the street to greet him and he excitedly greeted you back. Soon the two of you got into his car and drove off. It was a matter of minutes when you guys stopped at a fast food chain, “Sorry, gotta get the guys some food.”
“No worries, I can wait in the car.” He fashioned an apologetic smile as he ran into the restaurant hoping to make this a quick stop. Right as you sat in his car, you couldn’t help eyeing every car that was driving in and out of the parking lot. And what luck do you have to spot Jake’s freakin pickup truck with all the boys inside. “Seriously?!” You started reclining your chair as low as you could. Thankfully, due to where Silas parked, they couldn’t really see you. They all energetically walked their way to the door as loud as they typically are. While waiting for the coast to be clear, Silas returned with bags of food to find you in this odd manner. “I’m sorry it t-ook so long? Is everything okay?” He asked while putting the bags in the back seats. “Yeah! Yeah totally fine!” You start to bring the chair back to where it was originally as the ignition started again.
As he was pulling out, you saw Quil running out obnoxiously to then hop into the back of the truck to get his sweater. Luckily, you guys didn’t make eye contact. So many close calls! “So you're excited for the big game?” You asked but you knew his answer since he’s been talking about it ever since he got into the team. “How could I not? This was a dream come true! Nothing better!” A few miles more and you made it to an enormous stadium. You got out of the car and helped him with the heavy bags even though he insisted that he can carry all of it by himself. But your stubbornness won in the end.
“Aaay is that Y/N I see?” Daxton, Silas’s best man, chanted across the field. As close as you are to the boys, these guys are just as close even though you only ever hung out three times. “Woah! Long time no see, how ya doing?” Kylo cheered. They all stopped what they were doing to say hello. Their coach didn’t mind since he was friend’s with your dad. “So who are you going to root for during the games?” Fabien asked teasingly. “The coyotes of course.” That was the answer he was expecting but it lacks energy. “I’m sorry you said what?” Fabien asked again, holding his hand near his ear to be extra dramatic. “THE COYOTES!!” You screamed as loud and as passionate as they imagined. “HELL YEAH!! THAT’S RIGHT THE COYOTES!!! WOO! WOO! WOO!!” This made the entire group start roaring, chanting their victory already like a bunch of kids. This is what you loved about the sport, not really about the teams, more about how connected everyone was.
“Enough lazing around, get back to practicing!” Their coach yelled as he clapped his hands. “Glad to see you again.” He tipped his baseball cap as he went to a different corner to supervise the other players. “Wish me luck?” Silas jokes, with his gear and helmet on, off to the fields he goes to grab the ball.
Three days later…
Today was a big day. Everyone’s rushing to the stadium to get into their seats with their sports attire, face paint, and chants ready to go. Before you headed to your seat, you had to go see your boys before they went out into the fields. “Awww look who’s here?” Jared called out. All the boys turned their gazes to you. “Y/N, YOU MADE IT!” Seth ran towards you to give you the warmest hug he can offer. “Already here to congratulate us I see?” Paul asked playfully. You shook your head, “Well, we’ll see about that.” Grinning evilly. “What, you don’t think we’ll win?” Embry says as he gets his gear better fitted. “Like I said we’ll see.” With that, you wish them all luck and beg them to try not to get injured playing a game that will last for a short while. They didn’t make any promises but they sure will try. Afterwards, you stormed to your lucky seat, a seat closest to the field to watch the players.
One by one the boys on each team got out jumping with anticipation as they looked out into the crowds cheering for them. The boy's smile soon turned into frowns of betrayal. There you were sitting on the side of the stadium, and worse wearing one of the enemy’s teams jerseys. An anvil crashed on top of all of them as they saw you cheering for the other team. The game was brutal, both teams were giving it more than a hundred percent. In the end the wolves lost to the coyotes by a point, the blow was devastating to your fellow campus members but you were floored. “WE DID IT!!!” They screamed at their fans and Silas thanked you.
You turned your gaze to the boys, their helmets were off as they were gasping for air. All equally tired but disappointed when they made eye contact with you. They shook their heads, this will be a long ride home to your dorm.
The day after…
You have to do a lot to make it up to the boys. They won’t talk to you, won’t even look at you, or hangout. It’ll be a while before they feel that enough time has passed. For now you just hope the goodies you're making in your kitchen will relieve them for now.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
13 years earlier… back at your hometown
You were soundly asleep, your thick blanket kept you warm from the taunting cold as each exhale could be seen through the puffs of air you let out. Nothing about this night made it different from any other night before. The sky was cocooned in darkness while the moon and stars danced alongside each other. Every creature of the night came out to continue nature’s cycle. Everything was normal until it wasn’t. As you drift further asleep, you hear a bloody scream of terror. A  scream so loud, you could’ve easily mistaken it as one of those horror movie screams. Scared and worried, you got out of bed with your stuffed animal to head to your parents bedroom. Each anxiety driven step you took, you hear the noises getting louder, louder, and louder. A lot of things were being thrown around as you then with all the courage you mustered twisted the door knob. What you witnessed was something that will be burned into your memories forever. Your favorite stuffed animal was dropped to be a part of the rubble that was now scattered all across the room. The smell of blood makes you scrunch your nose as you move hesitantly closer to your parents bed.
Nothing was left on it besides the torn bloodied bed sheet and the motionless body of your once lively dad. With a single touch, the differences were major in how cold he felt than his typically warm being. “D-dad? Daddy? Daddy wake up?” It was futile and you knew it. But your little brain still has hope that there is a chance for him to return to you. Tears rolled down your cheeks tirelessly as you then turned your focus to look around the room. If your dad was here, then where the hell was your mom? Your thoughts run a million miles an hour as you then turn your attention to the blood stained drag marks out a window. For a little girl like you to witness what you witnessed and still decided to venture outside was braver than what some adults out there would have done. The blood trail led you into the woods behind your house, you followed them unknowingly falling into a very dangerous situation. You tried being as careful as possible with nothing on besides your pajamas and some sandals. Then you stopped. The trail just stops out of nowhere, leaving you in the middle of the forest defenseless and afraid.
Debating about your options you stood there wondering about whether it was smart to go further into the forest to see if your mom was there or just call the cops. “Well hello there, little girl?” The sound of a woman echoed through the trees as your eyes dashed all around. Then a figure part ways behind a tree, she approaches you slowly with a smile. That smile showed no warmth, just one of malicious intent. “What are you doing in these woods?” She added a low hideous chuckle as she continued this predatory march in your direction. Alarm bells were ringing, your instincts were telling you to run but you couldn't. Your muscles were too tense, you were glued to your spot. Seeing how you are paralyzed with fear, she decided to make a run for it, right for the kill to end things smoothly. You closed your eyes, anticipating the worst for what this monstrous woman has to offer but you never felt anything. Instead when you forced your eyes open, you saw a massive creature, bigger than any animal you’ve ever encountered. It growled and hissed as it stood in between you and the danger that lies ahead. “So you’re not dead yet huh?” She spoke cockily, wiping away the blood leaking out her shoulder. “Well, WHY DON’T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY!!” She charges at the beast, however her attack was proven unsuccessful as she was now in the jaws of the creature.
One quick snap of its jaw and it was all over. The woman’s upper half was separate from her lower half. Even with the grotesque state her corpse was in, the creature still felt the need to that this wasn’t enough for it had the intent of revenge. Her head was then ripped off her shoulder, then chucked to the side as if it was garbage. Then the creature turned to face you, terrified of what it might do, you trembled uncontrollably as it strided your way. You collapsed to the ground, shaking and crying and begging for your mom. Rather than feeling the sharp teeth of the creature, you felt a familiar pair of arms embracing you with safety and reassurance. “Shhh, shhh, it’s okay baby. Don’t cry, Mommy’s here. Don’t be scared, I’m here for you.” She cradled you in her sore arms as she fought the pain felt in her ribs and head to soothe you.
The morning afterwards was a mess to clear. Your relatives rushed over to your house, utterly baffled at the once loving household turning into a horrifying dump ground. You were really puzzled when they told you to tell the cops about the made up story they concocted. You did so anyway as your mom then gave her statements to the cop at the scene. They concluded that this was just a case of a horrible animal attack in the middle of the night with no further follow up. And your family nor anyone else in your circle pressed further.
As your house was getting cleaned and your father’s funeral was being prepared in the next upcoming days, you stayed at your aunt’s house. She lived alone, so she was perfectly fine with the two of you temporarily staying with her. The energy in her house was at an all time low. You just stayed in your room, legs hugged close to your chest as you reflected about that night. You know what you saw and you know it’s real. Whenever you tried bringing up the topic, both your mom and aunt would shut it down for their own reason. It’s during one of those late nights, that you had a really hard time sleeping. You haven’t gotten any peaceful sleep since the incident but tonight was the worst it got. Your body curled and rolled side to side hoping to find the right comfortable spot for you to slowly fall asleep. That moment never happened, you stared into the ceiling wondering what’s possibly going to happen next.
You got no sleep that night and it showed with the very noticeable dark circles under your eyes. “Tea?” Your aunt offered as she poured herself a cup. You nodded, watching with a hazy gaze as the cup was set in front of you. “Where’s Mom?” You asked after taking your first sip. She ponders about her answer before sitting in the seat in front of yours in her kitchen. “She went to see Ms.Alma.” This made you look at her confused. What? Why would she see the weird old woman isolated from the town? “Why?” Your aunt just sips her coffee steadily before putting it down. “There’s some important things they have to discuss. Like the incident.” This just made you question her more. But you stopped yourself feeling like you shouldn’t press any further.
In the next upcoming days, your dad’s funeral proceeds in the rain as you all mourn the loss of a gentle loving man who would have stopped at nothing for his family. You didn’t cry like everyone else, instead you just stared. You stared long and hard at the wooden coffin that was now lowered into the ground six feet under where it shall be his final resting place. Dirt slowly piled over it until it was enough to reach the grass above. Slowly, everyone parted ways from the grave sight, except for you. You stood there, umbrella at hand, while looking around to see if the coast was clear. Everyone that attended gave their speeches of what a wonderful person he was and how his memories live on in their hearts. You were thankful to hear such words but at a time like this, you needed to be alone to talk to him directly. You sat on the wet grass, leaning your body against his tombstone as you let him know how you feel currently about everything that’s going on. But one thing you said before left too was to watch over you and help protect those you loved.
The days, months, and years after that was a blur. You and your mom eventually became permanent residents at your aunt’s place as living in your old house was too painful. The wave of memories would come rushing back, it was just too much. Your aunt didn’t mind having company around. From there onwards, you moved on with your life the best you could by attending school, trying to make some friends, walking around town and living a peaceful existence at your second home.
Then another traumatizing event occurred that will change the course of your life forever. Since that morning, you felt sick. Your heart rate was through the roof, your body had tremors, head spinning, sweating like crazy, and pain almost in every muscle of yours. You really thought you were dying that day. All senses feel heightened, your eyesights clearer, hearing sounds that shouldn’t be picked up by the human ear, smells that weren’t there before are now extra pungent, touching anything felt like needles poking through your skin, and the taste of any food or beverages were off by a landslide. You practically begged your mom and aunt to bring you to a hospital since it felt like a life threatening situation. Despite the excruciating state your body was going through, they denied your request and drove you to Alma’s house.  Your mom held you in her arms, telling you that everything was going to be fine as your aunt drove at a speed you all could have died in.
The car came to a screeching halt as they carried you to Alma’s house. “Hey! Hey! Alma it’s me! Open up!!!” Your aunt shouted as the old crusty chipped door opened at the right moment for a very elderly wrinkly woman to step out with a walking stick and old fashion attire on. “What’s going on?” She questioned calmly as she then saw you. “Oh no. Put her down in the grass now!” They did as they were told as she then crouched down next to you. “Listen my dear, focus on my voice okay? I know you're in a lot of pain but I need you to concentrate for me. Breathe. Breathe. Steady your breathing first.” There wasn’t enough air flowing into your lungs through your nose so you used your mouth. After that, Alma slowly moved you onto your side. Beside her your mom and aunt watches knowing that this day was meant to come.
“I want you to let go. Let go of your restraints, let it all go.” In a blink of an eye, you felt your body contort in an inhumane matter. All the muscles and bones within your body were being twisted cruelly into something new. You opened your eyes, you felt a sense of relief wash over you as you no longer felt pain but things weren’t right just yet. You were no longer standing on two legs, instead you stood on four. There was fur covering your entire being. All your heightened senses seem to be under more control in this new form. Unsure of what you have become, you walk over to the small man made pond in Alma’s front lawn. Even in this new form you jumped, you couldn’t recognize yourself. There’s not a single feature left of you. What you saw as your own reflection was a gigantic fox. “I knew this day would come.” You suddenly hear your mom as she approaches you slowly, patting down fur. “I just didn’t know when. But now would be a good place to start.”
Once you were able to turn back, the whole world fell onto your shoulders as you were introduced to a world with vampires and enormous foxes meant to be guardians. You’ve heard of these stories as bedtime stories when you were little thinking nothing of it. You knew your mom was from a tribe but she never went into detail or mentioned much about it. All you know about them were the stories she rarely talked about. Now Alma was laying it all down. This is what you gathered so far.
Your family lineage has a line of guardians who protect the town from the cold ones. Both men and women have taken upon such a role. You’ll be gaining strength physically, heightened senses as you have already felt, a great deal of intelligence, and a ton of stamina. “Why me? Why? I don’t want this. I never asked for this!” You asked angrily. Alma shook her head. “You cannot choose, My Child. It’s your fate. It’s in the very blood that courses through your veins. The life you once had is no longer possible.” She sternly spoke.
“You must keep learning to control your phasing.” You learned you could even phase on accident if you didn’t stay focused correctly. Your mom just sat next to you caressing your arm in hopes to give you any ounce of comfort left. No one is to know about this besides those that are still present and aware of the stories told by their elders such as Alma.
When you got home, you just laid in bed and started crying. What more could you do? Your life was in shambles. Your mom entered after you didn’t answer her knocks, “Sweetie, everything’s going to be alright.” You sat up and for once in your life, you felt resentment towards your mom for not preparing you for such a thing to happen. “Everything’s going to be alright. That’s what you always say! Nothing about this is fine! I hate it! I never wanted this! I never wanted any of this! I wish Dad were still here! Why do I need to live this stupid existence as a guardian? Can’t I just live a normal life? I’m stuck being a stupid big smelly fox!” Your mom just listened, she knew how you felt as she was in the same shoes as you at that age. When you finished getting your emotions out, you just hugged her. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean any of it.” She buried your head into the crook of her neck to let you cry and be comforted.
Within weeks you almost got the hang of phasing in and out of your fox form. You had a few accidents here and there, but they were all manageable. Your mom showed you the basics of how to do certain things here and there. But the most heartstopping part of it is when you have to fight the cold ones. The first time you did it, you nearly lost your life if your mom and aunt did not intervene. In due time, you knew how to maneuver yourself around to keep yourself out of reach and attack when the target is open. Sooner or later, everyone was noticing how you became this entirely new person.
Present time…
The once sociable girl turned reserved and cold and was barely seen around town. The very few friends you had, had left you seeing how weird you were acting. People avoided you, but that was for the better. As you continue living this lifestyle, your appetite to explore outside of your town becomes insatiable. Your mom and aunt were undoubtedly denying such a request. It's too dangerous. And they still need as many guardians as possible to keep the town safe. Frustrated, you marched your way to Alma’s house after school.
“So tell me, my Dear. What brings you here today?” She asked as she fixed her outfit. “I just want to get out of town for a short while. I’ve been working hard in school and protecting the town. If I’m able to do that, why am I not trusted enough to go to the next town over at least?” You whined, falling back to rest on her couch. She just chuckles to herself, shaking her head at how free of mind you are. “My child, you may seem that you know it all but you really don’t. They are only doing what’s best for you and everyone around you.” She then placed a cup of tea in front of you. “Just once. Please Alma! Please! I won’t ever ask to leave again! Just once!” You begged, puppy eyes and all. She sighs amusingly, she agrees but she doesn’t make any promises. “THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOOOOOU!!”
It took a whole week of convincing from you and Alma about you venturing to the next town over for just a week. You promised you’ll get back as soon as you can and that you will be careful. Your aunt eventually caved and so did your mom who didn’t want you to feel like a cage bird forever. “You have to call me every single day. No buts. If you don’t answer, your aunt will drive straight to Forks to pick you up. You hear me?” She wags her finger at you as you nod and accept it all. Then off you go in your car with a week’s worth of luggage.
The drive took about forty five minutes and you parked your car in front of the house Alma advised you to stay. You knocked, the door opened to show a woman equally as old as Alma but a lot bubblier as she greeted you with a hug. She rushed you inside to show you where you’ll be staying which wasn’t a big room, not like you're complaining. After setting your stuff inside, you asked Enid if you could go around town. “Of course, dear! That’s what you’re here for after all. Go on, have fun while you can!” For an elderly lady like her, she still had a lot of life running in her. You grabbed your keys, hopped in your car and drove off.
One thing you definitely would like to see and experience for the first time is the beach they have here. You parked your car a good distance away and you just stopped amazed by what you're seeing. In front of you was no longer a screen, instead it's the real deal where you feel the wind combing through your hair and smell the salty sea water. What an amazing surreal moment this was. You walk further into the beach to admire the beauty of this place until you reach a nice place to sit near the water. Every stressful thought has been pulled out the longer you sat there to watch everything going around. It was all peaceful till you felt something bounce on the side of your head, annoyed you looked down to see a soccer ball. “Yikes! Are you okay?” The guy behind you asked as you rubbed the area of where the ball bounced off
When you made eye contact with him, you felt something new. This feeling was foreign as you never met this guy but you clearly have an attraction towards him. “Yeah, I’m fine. Umm here’s your ball.” You gently threw it at him thinking he would leave right away. “Say you’re not from here are you?” He asked curiously, resting the ball at his hip. “Yup, I’m from the next town over.” He raised a curious brow at you, he threw the ball back at his friends who called for it. “Why are you here? There’s nothing interesting happening around here.” With that, you shook your head while grinning, “Not true, at least you have this.” You tilted your chin at the sea.
“This is just any ordinary beach” He shrugs. “Well at least you have one.” You politely disagree. He smiles at you, that made your heart race even faster than it already was. “My name’s Paul. And your name is?” He waited patiently. “Y/N.” Seeing you all alone, he invited you over to join his group but you rejected his offer saying you want to explore the other things this town has to offer. A little saddened by your rejection, he did ask if you two could ever hangout sometime. You were more than happy to agree to that request. After he left you alone, you couldn’t help thinking that he was no ordinary boy. He definitely wasn’t. His scent is not one of a human but a wolf. But it must be your nose playing tricks on you. Maybe he just hangs out in the woods within Forks?
“I hope I see you again, Paul…” You mumbled to yourself as you took one last look at him from afar before making your way to your car.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
After driving around for a bit to look at the few shops open around the town, you ultimately decided to call it a day and returned to Enid’s house. She was watering her beautiful lilacs when you parked your car in front of her house. “Oh! Back so soon Dear? Did anything interesting happen?” She chimed as she turned the hose to water a different section in the dirt. You shrugged. “Not really? I got a nice look at the beach, it was breathtaking and I met a guy there.” That last part, you mumbled a bit but Enid still had sharp ears. “Interesting. What’s his name?” Her eyes were shimmering with curiosity waiting for your answer. “Paul. He didn’t give me a last name though.” The smile she had slightly dropped and you couldn’t help wondering why. “Is there something wrong?” You asked, your hand rubbing the side of your arm. “By any chance when you saw that boy, did he have a tattoo on his arm?” Thinking hard and deep, you nodded and you saw her sigh.
“Be careful around him.” She warns as she goes to turn off the hose to head inside. “Wait, why?” Now you're hungry for answers. “He’s not really a good guy known around town. He also hangs out with this group, I don’t know what they do but definitely not good things from all the rumors circulating. So My Dear Child, be careful. This town is no safer than yours, if you know what I mean?” Her tone was stern which you understood. You can never be too careful.
About an hour later, dinner was served after you and her spent a wonderful time cutting, pealing, and chopping all the ingredients up. She shared so many exciting stories about her early youth and how she ended up here. As you two finished the delicious meal, you helped her gather all the utensils as well as the dishes that were piling up. “Say Enid? By any chance do you think there are other shapeshifters like us out there? You know? Ones that are not foxes?” You casually asked as you handed her another wet plate. You hear a hearty chuckle, “My Dear, I have lived the last three decades here. I have never seen or heard of any other shapeshifters. For all I know, our tribe must be the only ones with this gift.” You just nod, you continue washing each bowl and plate diligently till there is none left. “Alright, now go rest for the night.” She said as she walked over to her own bedroom. You told her goodnight as you made your way into your room.
The mattress creaked as you lay down, your arms rested behind your head as you thought about that beach encounter some more. You know you're not crazy. He does not smell like a human. Your nose never lied to you before and it won’t start now. “Can he be a shapeshifter too?” You put a lot of thought to that question. The possibility is there but then again the odds are that he just hangs around in the woods too much. Annoyed, you slammed the pillow over your face in hopes to suffocate these thoughts out of you. “Ugh! Whatever! I’ll think about this some more tomorrow!” You groaned, turning to your side as you glided the blanket over your body. Within minutes, sleep captured your consciousness, sending you off into dreamland.
Back at Emily’s place…
“I’m being serious!” Paul shouted over the dinner table as he shoves a huge piece of chicken in his big mouth. The rest of the pack all gave each other glances in bewilderment and doubt about what he just spouted out. “You’re sure of it?” Sam asked. Paul nodded, chewing his food quickly to give himself the opportunity to speak again. “I felt it as soon as I met eyes with her. I’ve definitely imprinted on her.” Hearing the tone in the way he said it, Sam nods.
“But there is one thing I’m more curious about than anything?” Paul slowly spoke as he took another big mouthful of food to feed his hungry stomach. “What?” Embry asked. Everyone waits again in silence, anticipating what the third in command would say. “Her scent. She doesn’t smell like any other human I’ve been around.” They all gave him a curious look as if he grew two more heads on his shoulders. “Then what did she smell like to you?” Jared questioned. “She smelled like a fox.” He was lost when everyone started cackling at what he said as if he made the most hilarious joke known to mankind. “A fox? Come on man, you’re kidding? Maybe she just hangs around with one or goes into the forest in her town?” Quil added while holding his stomach hard from laughing.
“Fine! If you guys think I’m so crazy, I’ll just bring her here!” He announced which caused the laughter to die down. “Well since you imprinted on her, I guess sooner or later we would need to meet her. Do you know when she can come over?” After Sam’s question, Paul mumbled a curse to himself since he forgot to get any contact information. All he knows about you is what you look like, your first name, and that you live in the next town over. Irritated, he excused himself as the anger was overwhelming him. He shifts into the forest to cool down. “I can’t believe he imprinted before me!” Embry whined as he got himself another piece of bread. Quil slung his arm around his friend with a delighted smirk, “You and me on the same boat buddy!”
The next morning…
Your arms stretched to the sky, every body part was shaking as you let out a nice satisfying groan. You threw the covers aside to get ready for another adventurous day in this town, although truthfully the most adventure you felt was on that beach. And you slightly hoped you would get to see Paul again. Shaking your thoughts out of your head, you told Enid you will be taking a refreshing morning walk to get some pastries at the local bakery. As soon as you stepped in, your nose was flooded with the scent of flour, sugar, milk, and everything delicious. “Welcome!” An older gentleman greeted you, you also greeted him with a nod and friendly smile. You walked over to the shelves to look closer at the assortment of goods.
There were cupcakes, cakes, bread, custards, pies, etc. It was hard deciding which one you wanted since they all smell so darn good. “I would recommend the chocolate fudge slice or strawberry cheesecake.” You turn around to see a girl your age. “They both look equally good. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m Y/N. And your name is?” She smiles back at you before replying, “Bella.” You had a long chat with her before her dad entered the bakery to check up on her which made you feel a little nostalgic of your childhood. Seeing the way Charlie dotes on Bella reminded you too much of your own dad. “Oh who’s this?”
“Y/N, this is my dad. Dad this is Y/N. I was just telling her which cake to get.” He nods before extending his hand out to shake yours. “Nice to meet you. I’m the Chief of police in this town. If you ever need anything or if something happens, let me know. I’ll give you my contact information.” He gave you his business card and you gladly accepted it as the three of you ran your conversation back to the bakery goods.
Being unable to decide, you got one of everything that you could carry to the counter. When you were getting rung up, right as you were about to pay, Charlie paid for it all. “My treat. Afterall you're visiting our town for the first time. Wanted to give you a good first impression.” Amazed and grateful, you offered to pay him back but he shook his head joyously. “You put a smile on my daughter’s face. She hasn’t had a good friend in a while. If you can, can you hang out with her more often if it’s not such a big request. I would consider that as repayment.” You agreed, after all you didn’t really have plans for this entire week.
“Oh shoot I forgot! Can I get your phone number, Y/N?” Bella hurryingly asked you. You exchanged numbers then parted ways after saying your goodbyes. Enid was thrilled to see you bought so much. You couldn’t finish it all therefore you were more than happy to give a portion of all of the sugary goods. That was enough for lunch.
You set yourself on your bed wondering what to do now since there weren't too many exciting things waiting for you to do around town. Feeling a sudden buzz in your pocket, you pulled your phone out to see Bella text you.
[Bella: Hey! I hope you got home safely! Say if you’re okay with this, wanna hangout at my place for dinner?]
[You: Sure! I’d love to, what time?]
[Bella: Is 8 okay with you?]
You paused and didn’t immediately reply since you also wanted Enid to be informed of your hangout situation. She gave you her permission and advised you to be extra careful while making your way to Bella’s house. “Remember what I said? I expect you to be back before midnight, understood?” She lightly scolded you, you smiled and waved goodbye as you started the walk to Bella’s house.
The walk wouldn’t take very long but your instincts were heightened with each step feeling as if a pair of unwanted eyes were stuck to your back. You constantly surveyed your surroundings to see if you saw any cold ones lurking nearby. Thankfully, nothing happened during your walk and you made it all in one piece to her front door step. Bella was floored to have you here, Charlie didn’t mind as you sat in the living room drinking his beer with the game on. “So what’s for dinner?” You asked as you walked alongside her to the kitchen. Bella just crouches down with an oven mitt on to open the oven door to see a freshly made pasta tray ready to be dug into. “I made pasta, if that’s alright with you?”
“That’s fine with me.” Dinner with Bella and her dad was entertaining as there were many stories told by Charlie and you. You guys talked for so long that you lost track of time, before you knew it the clock was close to striking midnight. “Shoot! I should get going, here let me help you clean up first.” Charlie stopped you once again, “No, I’ll clean this up. Guests don’t do dishes in my house. Okay? Say want me to drive you? It’s not safe to be going out this late, especially being a young girl like yourself.” Appreciative of his concern, you convinced him that you will absolutely be alright on your own as you run to Enid’s house as soon as possible. But you came to a halt, you smell it. You smell one of them. “Shit! Where the fuck are you?” You cursed quietly, your ears were sharply listening till you see a bit of movement in a bush. Then it rushed out, spotting you, it just froze. The pale man just stood there accessing whether or not it would be worth it to pursue you.
However much his instincts were telling him to just run, he was starving, he needed blood, where he gets it doesn’t matter to him. To his poor judgement, he charged at you with all the force he can muster in this weak pathetic state. Luckily, you were able to dodge him just in time for him to slam his body onto a solid brick wall. He gets back up, his eyes wishing death upon you as you smirk at him. “Nice try but it’ll take more than that to kill me.” He tries once more before watching you shift into your fox. He stops, shaking fearfully as he then turns around on his heel to run off. You ran after him without a care. Hopefully, the darkness in the areas where you ran off was enough to cover you. He’s fast but not fast enough to outrun you.
He ran far, so far that he went out of town and into the deep woods. Perfect! You don’t really have to worry about being seen or being as forceful as you need to. All you had to focus on was how to maneuver your way around these thick trees. You were right behind him no matter how much faster he ran. “I gotcha now!” You thought to yourself as you pounced. He looked back one last time before ending up in your jaws to be crushed to death. His body parts were flung carelessly to the side as you ripped his head off his shoulders just to make sure he won’t come back to life. But you couldn’t celebrate this victory for long when you smelled more of them… all around.
Although you came here to relax and explore, you find it amusing how you’re still working as a guardian even out of town. After pinpointing where the next closest vampire was, you ran for the chance to kill once again. This one was far trickier to kill than the last one, she’s smaller and faster. She was close to putting you in a choke hold but you swiftly moved to the side where she knocked herself into a huge boulder. “You annoying fuckin foxes!” She cried out in anger, charging at you once more.
At that moment, time slowed down. It felt like everything around you was moving slowly as you watched her approach you inch by inch till her figure was violently pushed to the side. Just one scream of terror, and her life no longer remained in her cold body. You're shocked. In front of you stood a wolf, a huge grey wolf. It stood even taller than you. The way he turned his attention to you was unsettling, he took a few woofs of your scent before he stopped in his tracks. It's as if he realized something right in that moment. That pregnant pause was interrupted when you saw another wolf come into view out of the tree line. He had brown fur though a tad bit smaller than the grey wolf it stood next to. The two wolves looked at each other before looking back at you, taking a few steps closer to then stop. Your ears are perked up, the fur on your back rose, it was clear you were physically showing them you feel threatened by them.
They wish to communicate to you but you had other plans when you saw another vampire rush by. Your instincts went into overdrive to make a fast kill. They followed in pursuit wondering how this was all going to play out. When they reached the area where your scent stopped, they found you with a vampire corpse ripped in a very grotesque manner.
“Are you seeing what I’m seeing?!” Jared shouted at Paul in amazement. “She’s incredible! Wow!”
“It definitely has to be her. Her scent is identical to hers!” Paul telepathically spoke as he watched you on the move again. “Damn and she's quick!”
All over the forest the two wolves made their presence known to you that they were not going to be a threat to you which was a good thing. But concerning at one point since they would not leave your side. For the rest of the night, you three kept running around and killing as many leeches as possible. Paul even killed a few charging at you when you were busy fighting one with Jared by your side. They protected you, you protected them.
“I’ve never felt more alive! WOO!” Paul spoke enthusiastically until they heard a familiar howl in the distance. “Shit! Sam needs backup.” Jared groaned as he’s ready to run towards wherever their pack leader was. Paul was about ready to do the same when he stopped and stared at you. His eyes were pleading you to follow, you had to make a really tough choice but in the end you ran with them. Sam and Embry were fighting off the group of leeches they herded but more came to the area and they were almost surrounded.
You, Paul, and Jared came just in time to scatter the group. Sam and Embry stood there just as shocked as Paul and Jared were before. “Woah! Who’s the fox?” Embry asked as he ripped the arm off a leech. “She’s the one. Paul’s imprint!” Jared quickly explained as he dodged the detached upper torso and accidentally flung his way. The wolves were genuinely impressed by your fighting, you made quick work of each leech that came across your way. You even went above and beyond to protect other pack members if they needed it. When the sun was slowly rising, the wolves turned to look at each other then at you. You wanted to make a quick exit but Paul and Embry stood in your way. They didn’t growl, instead they let out a low groan.
“We need to talk to her.” Sam ordered. “But first we have to try to bring her back to Emily’s place.”
Once he made his orders known, you did the unexpected. Thanks to your lighter and slightly smaller body, you were able to easily hop over them. “After her!” Sam demanded and the wolves chased you down. “Why the hell are they following me?” You panicked, legs sore and tired from the constant running. They were restless. No matter how many turns and jumps you did, they were still on you. It’s only when you reached a tall mountain did you feel trapped, the four wolves gathered around you like a net. “Steady, we don’t want to spook her.” Sam spoke.
But once again you're full of surprises. Beside the mountain was a rushing waterfall, there wasn’t an ounce of hesitation when you jumped into the water. They were left speechless as they watched you fall into the water below, you gave them one last look before running off into the woods. “Dammit is she good?!” Jared groaned.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
“What?! What do you mean you haven’t seen her since last night? What was she doing?! What was she wearing?! Did she say anything to you before she left?!” Your mom shouted over the phone as she and your aunt got ready to drive straight to town. This was their worst fear. Enid tried answering every question thrown her way but there were simply too many. Right as another hurdle of questions was shot her way, you slammed the door open. You're heaving your lungs away as you place both your hands onto your knees. “She’s back!” Enid let out a sigh of relief as she handed the phone over to you. “YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO YOUNG LADY!” Your ears were ringing. “Alright! Alright! Just give me a minute!” You said through intervals. After closing the door, you head over to the living room. There you laid down everything that happened last night for your mom, aunt, and Enid to hear. They couldn’t believe it.
“That’s not possible. I’ve never heard of any other shifters out there beside our tribe.” Your aunt spoke worryingly.  “Do you know who they are?” To their dismay, you said no. Happy and thankful that you’re still alive, they told you to stay inside for today. You didn’t object since you needed to replenish the energy you lost fighting all those monsters. With nothing else to talk about, you crash onto your bed in hopes of catching up with your sleep. As you lay there for a few minutes, there was a knock at the door. Enid kindly made her way there to answer it to see a tall gentleman who she has never met before. “Hello, Ma’am.” He respectfully greeted as she greeted him back. “How may I help you young man?”
“I’m looking for somebody. By any chance have you seen this girl?” He gave her a detailed description of you which got Enid a little weary. What does he want from you? Enid stood firm from where she stood as she denied your residence here. The man wasn’t convinced, instead he did something he doesn’t typically do. He roughly pushes the door open to make his way inside, his nose caught wind of your scent to then knock on your door. You open it thinking not much of it before jumping when you see the unfamiliar man. “Is your name, Y/N?” He asked seriously. Still baffled by his presence, you nodded. “Good. I need to speak with you.” He can see the hesitation in your eyes as your gaze wanders to look at Enid. “Please. It’s important.”
At that point, you're willing to hear him out as long as Enid was present by your side. She sighs and closes the door as you three sit in her living room. “This may sound crazy but are you a shapeshifter?” Enid was about to deny you from answering that question but you got to it before she could. “Yes, I am. Why do you ask?” You answered truthfully since you recognized his scent from last night. “I would like to know your origins, people, and if possible an alliance amongst us to rid the town of the cold ones.” He asked sternly, eyes trained on every expression you would make. Enid held your hand from your lap, you blinked at her as your eyes glowed. She blinks back and lets go of her cautious mindset. “I’ll tell you if you may exchange the same information back.” A deal was a deal.
However before the discussion could begin, he did ask if you were willing to come over to his house. Enid gave you her permission but did warn him if he tries to do anything to you, he’d have a rude awakening. He swears that nothing will happen under his watch. All that said and done, you walk with him to his house which is fairly far from Enid’s house. When you reach his front door, you look around surveying the entire area. “Welcome back.” A woman with a peculiar scar on her face cheerfully said as they kissed. “Oh is she the one?” She asked the man to set the bowl of apples she had been washing in the sink. “H-hello?” You nervously entered the household to be hit with a bunch of new smells. It’s not unpleasant, just new.
“I forgot to introduce myself but I’m Sam and this lovely lady is my fiance, Emily.” She joyously waves at you as you wave back. “I’m Y/N.” You simply said till your ears picked up a group of people rushing to the house. A pickup truck pulled up to the front to see a bunch of rowdy boys make their way to the entrance only to stop when they saw you. “Damn!” One of them whistled as you made eye contact with them. “She’s prettier in person!” He said in awe of your beauty. That comment earned him a jaw shaking wack to the back of his head. “Cut it out, Quil!” Paul warns as he watches you move aside for them to enter. His gaze was a second too long on you and everyone saw it.
“Everyone this is Y/N. Y/N, they are shapeshifters too. This is Jared, Embry, Quil, Jacob, and you may already know, Paul.” They all gave you their unique hellos before Sam got straight to the point. “So please tell us more about yourself.” Sam spoke as everyone gathered around you when you sat on the couch. You started with basic information like your full name, some family history, the little information you had about your tribe, and your position in your town as a guardian. All the details you gave felt like regular shmegular things but they were amazed. “Are there others like you in the next town over?” You almost chuckled. “Of course there are. Although there aren’t many of us. We kept the secret of this for generations well until now that is. Now if you may, may I know details about your tribe.”
You were just as amazed as they were before when they explained the legends of their tribe’s story and the job they do to protect the town. So much of it reminds you of back home. “There’s also one more thing that needs to be talked about but I think it’s best if Paul was the one to do it.” Sam casually spoke as he left the sitting area. Now things have gotten a little awkward. Paul just gets up and sways his head to the side to signal you to follow him. You two stood in the backyard, silent for a few seconds before he spoke. “When I met you that day on the beach, did you feel anything strange?” You did, you explained to him how you felt and he drank every word up. He took a deep breath before telling you about the whole imprint thing wolves have. Stunned, you gave him a concerned look only to be reassured that your relationship won’t be forced or not one of romance. He heavily emphasized that the choice is up to you. “I’ll accept it but on one condition.” He had a grin reaching ear to ear while his ears were perked up.
You definitely had feelings for him but they were still new. You explained to him about a tradition in your tribe about how he should court you. As much as you would like to dive into things straight away, the courting part is a way for you to see whether or not he is worth being a partner with. He agreed in a heartbeat by then he’s asking you what he had to do. That was up to him. “Impress me and I will let you know in the next four days.” You gave him four days since that’s how long you have left before you have to leave, forever.
Everyone was shocked at the development of your relationship with Paul. He was an entirely different person from how he previously was. During the day, he’s all sweet with his words and gently touches you lovingly. At night during his patrols, he’s extremely protective of you when you’re with him. He wouldn’t ever leave your side for a moment during those patrols. The two of you even learned how to communicate through different calls. When your screams were at a higher pitch, it was to alert him and everyone else nearby about the leeches nearby. Then when it's at a lower frequency, he knows you just want to get his attention for something. He’s loving every second of this. He also really admires how free spirited you are. Yes, he’s taking his patrols seriously but in a way it’s like a date. He’s hopelessly in love. You could shove him to the ground in your fox form to dominate him, he’d let you without rebelling.
He freaking loves it when you have your furry tail brush under his chin when walking by. Even in your fox form, he finds you pretty. The way you walk, survey, and attack. His heart can never get enough of you. After staying with him for patrol, you needed to return to Enid’s house to inform her of everything new you learned. Your absence sent this poor boy into a spiral. He looked like a kicked puppy as he sat on the couch wondering if you’re thinking about him too. News flash, you were. You already miss his handsome face, corny jokes, his strong protective embraces, and so much more. When you finally laid all the details down, Enid was astonished but fully supportive of what you had built with your soulmate. Your mom and aunt on the other hand, well they weren’t so sure and for a good reason. They told you to stay away but you couldn’t. And it’s not like Enid was going to stop you.
“Oh look, Y/N’s back…” Jacob said out loud knowing Paul was already running out the door to hug you. “I missed you!” He said before kissing you. You grin up at him, shaking your head side to side, “It’s only been a few hours.” He just pouts. “Well it felt like an eternity to me.”
“Y/N! Welcome back!” Emily greeted from the kitchen as you walked in holding hands with your clingy boyfriend.
“Say how many more days do you have left before you leave?” You and Paul both stopped in your tracks as you almost forgot that you needed to return soon. “Two days…” You replied hesitantly as you felt Paul’s hand grip a little tighter than he was before. His breathing got a little unleveled since this was his worst fear. You are leaving him forever. But you made it clear that the two of you will work it out somehow. He smiles, bringing your held hand closer to his face to lay a kiss on the back of your hand. “Do you have patrol tonight?” He shook his head, “Nope! So I can spend all my time with you.” He spoke teasingly only to hear some fake gag from the corner of the room. “Gross, get a room you two!” Jared joked as he received a murderous glance from Paul. “Okay, I will shut up.” He turned back around from his seat to finish his cereal.
“What do you want to do?” He shrugged. “Anything as long as I am with you.” You thought about it for a good minute. “Wanna go to the beach?” You suggested. He was more than willing to go anytime. So you two made your merry way to the place you first met. The winds were blowing, waves dancing, and sand lazing around. You walked into the middle of the beach to take a nice seat with Paul next to you. You breathe in the salty air as you enjoy the sight before you once again. “What?” You asked him joyfully as he just stares at you with eyes full of passion. “You’re always so beautiful.” He smirked, you rewarded him with a kiss.
“Do you really have to go back?” He asked longingly after pulling away. You gave him a saddened smile which told him everything. “I have to, Paul. If I could stay, I would, really. But my family needs me, my town needs me. I can’t just leave them like that.” You explained and he understands as he would feel the same way. Depressed about the thought of you leaving, he pulled you onto his lap so he could hold you closer. “I’ll miss you to death.” Your heart hurts just as much as his. You didn’t want to leave him but you have a duty to serve your town. “I’ll miss you for all of eternity.”
“You’ll call and text me? Right?” You assured him that you would even send him pigeon mail if no other options were open. You laughed about it but it was really starting to bug you how the two of you are so caught up in this double life. If you two didn’t have these supernatural abilities then you would have probably risked it all to be together. But that’s all wishful thinking. For the rest of the day, you just wanted to be with him as long as possible before you needed to return to Enid’s house.
“It’s getting late, I need to return soon.” You said as you got up and he was up to. “Let me walk you home.” He spoke calmly as he took your hand into his and started the nice peaceful walk home. You knock on the door, Enid answers to happily welcome you back. Her gaze then lands on Paul, “So he’s the infamous Paul Lahote.” Her tone was playful with no ounce of malice hitting his direction. “Yup that’s me.” He smiles at her. “Say wanna stay over for the night? I made quite a lot of food.” Enid suggested as she turned to give you a hopeful smile. He answered a little too quickly but it amuses her with the amount of passion he has for you. “Oh young love. How beautiful?” She sang as she returned to her kitchen to finish the preparations.
You both share an excited smile as you help her bring each dish to the table as well the very much needed utensils. Both you and Enid wouldn’t be more surprised when you see Paul huffing down food before he takes another breath. He enjoyed everything that was laid out in front of him. Even when everything was polished clean, he still had a bit more room for dessert. “Wow, that was amazing! Thank you for the food.” Enid nodded, smiled at him as she got out to do the dishes. Paul was quick though insisting he would wash up since he ate the most. As much as she insisted that he didn’t have to, he eventually won the spot in front of the sink.
“Phew! That was the last of them!” He gleefully cried out. Chuckling as you put the last of the dishes away, you head to your room with Paul not far behind. “Wow, your room is so small?” He said as he looked around. “It’s small but cozy enough for me.”
Taking a spot on the bed, you patted the empty spot next to you for him to quickly take it. He scoots closer to kiss your cheek. At one point the two of you started talking about random topics till Enid busted in the room. She was breaking out a sweat as she gave you a very panicked expression while her hand shook. “Y/N, i-it’s back at home. The town, there’s too many cold ones attacking.” You quickly got out of bed and ran out the door, you shifted not caring whether or not you have been seen by someone. “Y/N WAIT!” Paul shouted for you, but you didn’t stop. Your mind was racing hoping to god that everyone will be alright.
When you reached your town, the first place you ran to was your aunt’s place. Neither your mom or aunt was at home presently. Worried you let out an audible howl, there’s not a chance either one of them would ignore it. Anticipation was growing but to your relief you heard your aunt respond. “Shit! There in the forest!” You shifted back and ran as fast as you could. There was a swarm of leeches surrounding your aunt. She was injured badly as shown through her limp, open wound to her side, and stabbed eye. As one of them lunged at her, you threw yourself in the middle to protect her. The damage was immediate as you ripped the monster apart. Words of anger erupted in the group as multiple of them marched in your direction.
“Run!” You told your aunt, she wanted to refuse but your voice was beyond authoritative she knew she had to obey. She jumped as far as she could before she ran out of the forest. “Hah look at how cowardly that bitch was?!” One of them laughed as they began taunting you. This was going to be a shit show. You fended them off for as long as you could before you felt a death grip around your neck. No matter how much you shoved and twisted your body, you couldn’t escape. The struggle you showed was entertaining as life was slowly draining out of your eyes. You’re scared. And that’s shocking since you never feared anything. As your life was flashing before your eyes, you thought of one person only. “PAUL!” You cried out for him one last time thinking he’d probably never hear you. The pressure was soon lifted off your neck as you saw a familiar pack of wolves running to tear each of those leeches apart. One of them in particular was quick to stick by your side.
You desperately fought to keep consciousness but it was a dying battle. Every second, your vision gets blurry till your eyes close shut. Your ears still picked up the sound of  him howling before everything went dark. Hours would go by and you wouldn’t even know it. Your aunt and mom would soon have a quick introduction to the wolves. But their concern is all directed at you since you haven’t shifted back. Fearful, they hurryingly brought Alma over to examine you, she told them the worst possible news ever. “I don’t think she can make it, her pulse is too weak.”

Stranger Danger

pairing: (husband) paul lahote x (wife) female reader
summary: your husband and twins are always ready to protect you under any circumstances.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You couldn’t postpone this trip any longer since there was no food left in the fridge or pantry and with three hungry boys at home that was a disaster. You wanted to leave the twins home with Paul but he was already asleep in bed. Not wanting to disturb him from getting the limited sleep he normally gets, you brought your two boys along. They were ecstatic! When you three made it to the grocery store, a cold wind hit your faces due to the freezer section being near the entrance. “Alright, let me just get a cart first and then we can start shopping.” They nodded and followed you on each of your side as they grip onto the side of your coat. As you venture aisle to aisle to get the items you need, you couldn’t help feeling a little uneasy. You don’t really know yet but your mom senses are blaring. Each time you look up and around, there isn’t anything alarming to make you want to leave the store. Right as the boys returned with a family sized cereal box to be put into the cart, a man appeared before you.
Both of your boys held onto your side while glaring at the man who’s grinning ear to ear. “Can I help you?” You asked annoyedly. His grin widens, “Actually, you can. Say, do you know where I can get a jar of strawberry jam?” He never broke eye contact from you, the hairs on the back of your neck are up straight. “Yeah, go to aisle ten and in the middle of the shelves there should be a variety of jams for you to pick.” You hoped that this would be the end of your conversation but he has yet to leave. Your boys were still close to you protectively as they made it their job to protect you if their dad wasn’t around. “Are you single?” That question made you give him a disgusted look. “No, I’m married and I would suggest you leave me alone.” Your voice was loud and clear, leave you the hell alone. He chuckles before finally looking down at your boys, “Are these your boys?” He crouched down to get a better look at them, you instantly brought both of them behind you. “Relax, doll, I won’t do anything… unless you want me to?” He laughs after he finishes his sentence.
You were grossed out by him in every single way. Feeling beyond uncomfortable, you and the twins rushed to go to a different aisle. To your utter disbelief, he shamelessly followed you before giving you another array of stupid questions. You ignored all of them in hopes to find an employee to help you out with this guy. The more you avoided him, the more obnoxious he got tempting to get your attention back on him. As you were about to move to another aisle he creepily got a hold of your wrist with a vice grip. “Hey, let me go!” You demanded as you felt that the situation was escalating far worse than you ever thought it could. “I can’t do that. I can’t let a beautiful woman like yourself out of my sight.” Just as you were about to kick him hard in his crotch, your protective and very angry husband arrived. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing to my wife?!” He shouted a few feet away. “Daddy! Stranger danger!!” The twins shouted.
Everyone in the store practically knows what’s going on and no one bothered to stop Paul as he dragged the man outside to have a nice civil talk. The man never returned as he was on the ground bloodied, bruised, and fully aware of who he messed with. “Baby, are you okay?” He ran to your side checking to see if you got hurt at all. “N-no, I’m fine. Just a little shaken up. But boys are you two okay? I’m sorry you had to see all that.” You crouched down to hug them closely. They just shook their heads, “We’re okay, Mommy. Don’t be scared, we’ll protect you!” They cheered and you couldn’t help but smile at them. “Thank you!” You hugged them even tighter. “That's my boys!” Paul enthusiastically praised as he messed with their hair.
You finished the rest of the shopping trip in peace then paid what was owed. As you four walked your way home, the boys spotted the man. He was sitting on the concrete ground looking dazed when he looked in their direction. The boys pointed at their eyes before shooting their fingers at him. “We’re watching you.” They warned through their hand gestures, Paul has never been more proud. “What’s so funny?” You asked curiously after hearing him chuckle. “Nothing.”

Petty Husky
Tumblr media
pairing: (boyfriend) seth clearwater x (girlfriend) female reader
summary: your husky doesn't like seth and he makes sure you know that.
warning: not proofread
word count: 433
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
He is not happy with you. In fact, he’s beyond disappointed and felt betrayed when you left him alone to be with Seth. He made sure you knew that loud and clear. Loki, your five year old husky, had claimed a spot in your life before your amazing boyfriend took the spotlight from him. You only left for a few minutes to grab some ice cream and saw him give you the face. His saddened puppy eyes as he lays in his favorite spot on the couch with a heavy sigh of unhappiness. “Awww Loki, I’m sorry! I was only stepping out to get some ice cream!” You even held up your cone as proof but he was not having it. He just turns his head the other way to really sell the act to you and it worked. To make him happy, he was cuddling into your side when Seth walked in to find Loki mischievously smiling at him. “Hello to you too, Loki.” Seth sighs as he sits on the ground in front of you to continue watching the newest episode of your favorite series.
Two episodes in later, Seth tries to wiggle his way on the couch which Loki was not about to let happen. He lets out a menacing growl, a staring competition would soon follow between these two. “Loki, I want to cuddle with my girlfriend too, you know?” Seth asked nicely through gritted teeth, but your husky also let out a lazy sigh. “Come on, Loki. Seth also needs some love.” Hearing you say that, he’s starting to whine like a baby. “Seriously? Loki, I can only see her twice a week and you have her all day and all night! That’s not fair!” Now laying down all his frustration, he fights to peel Loki off of you. “Get off, Loki! Come one!” He struggles as your husky always finds enough wiggle room to return to your side.
Amused and pitying your boyfriend, you sit up so you have Loki leaning his head on your lap then with Seth sitting next to you, head on your shoulder. Seth even tried to sneakily hold your hand which was stopped when Loki growled. “Loki, be nice.” You lightly scolded. He annoyedly turns his head back to the tv absolutely baffled that you would take your boyfriend’s side. “Do you think he will ever warm up to me?” Seth asked curiously. “I sure hope so.” You chuckled then turned your attention back onto the screen where the three of you will be enjoying some more quality time on the couch.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
As soon as the news hit, your mom and aunt were down on their bruised knees begging endlessly for you to wake up. A wave of tears flowed out as your mom cradled your head in her arms telling you how sorry she was for not protecting you. The pack of wolves around them felt their pain but they were also trying to keep Paul calm. He too has not shifted back since his wolf was nudging at your weakened body. It was howling, it was whining, his wolf was pleading to you to rise up. But no matter the seconds that flew by, you were still. You were cold to the touch and your breathing was becoming fainter and fainter. “Please, baby wake up! Wake up for your mom! Please don’t leave me like this! You are all that I have left!” Your aunt tried comforting your mom, a fruitless attempt as she was just as devastated as her. Then silence. Your heartbeat ceased, your chest no longer rose or fallen. The cry your mom let out was enough to rumble the sky. “NOOOOOOOOO!!” That was it, her life, your aunt’s life, and Paul’s life was over. When he finally got a chance to shift back he ran to you without letting anyone stop him. “Y/N, PLEASE WAKE UP! WAKE UP!!” He was shaking you. Your mom and aunt watched as the boy cried in unfathomable pain.
A couple of hours later, they slowly let reality sink in. You were gone. By then the pack returned since night was coming to an end. That just leaves you with Paul, your mom, aunt, and some other guardians present who are made aware of the situation. When it is just Paul and your mom left, she just sits nearby watching him cry. “She meant everything to me. I loved her. I never wanted any of this to happen. I-I’m sorry I couldn’t protect your daughter!” He kneeled down, bowing in agony as your mom was quick to make him rise. She shook her head, she gave a depressing smile. “Young man, you did everything you could. And just watching you grieve for my daughter means everything to me knowing she was cherished.” She comforted him further as they grieve together.
In the afterlife…
“Hmm? Where the heck am I?” You asked as you sat up in a strangely calm grass field. “Nice to see you again, Sugarcube!” That voice, you’d recognize it from anywhere. Nervously, you turned around and saw a face you missed for years. There he was, smiling with open arms, your dad standing in the fields. “DAD?!” You felt like a little girl all over again when you felt the warmth and reassurance transferred through the embrace. “I missed you so much.” You start crying as you feel your dad pat down your hair. “I missed you just as much!” After you two separated, he did inform you that this was the afterlife, shocked and unshocked at the same time.
You two had a really long talk about what was going on in your life and about Paul. He was hesitant at first when you mentioned you having a boyfriend. You were still his little girl through his eyes. But after some explaining, he was fully on board and supported your choice to be with him. “Then what are you waiting for? You have to go back!” He tells you hurryingly. You asked him how since you are technically dead. He shook his head side to side, he then tells you, you have a chance to return to the living world as long as you follow the path of the light. Understanding what he’s insisting, you hugged him one last time before you ran off. “Go! I’m so proud of you, Honey!” You hear him shout across the field as you move further away. “That’s my girl.”
Back to the living world…
Paul and your mom just sat on the dirt ground in silence while their grief drowns them. Right at that exact moment, they jumped back. Your eyes just suddenly shot open, your chest was heaving as you tried standing up only to lump back onto the ground. Your head was spinning as you felt the arms of the people you love. “YOUR IN SO MUCH TROUBLE FOR SCARING ME LIKE THAT YOUNG LADY!” Your mom scolded joyously. Paul was just thanking you, thanking the universe, and whatever being in higher power that brought you back. It was a miracle before their eyes. The wolves were shocked, the guardians were shocked, and so was your aunt. But that all doesn’t matter because of your back. However, not everything is all good and dandy since you feel pain, everywhere. The healing process was going to be ugly but Paul was going to be there with you so it’ll all be worth it.
During his time spent with you to help you with literally everything, he has proven himself even further that he is the one for you. Your mom and aunt always tease you about how you got such a good catch. In due time with your rapid healing abilities, you were back in shape. Paul was the happiest boy alive when he saw you walking on your own to him at Emily’s place. A celebration was held, everyone you loved was invited including your mom, aunt, Alma, Enid, and the rest of the guardians. So much love was present in the air, and you couldn't get enough of it. Feeling slightly overstimulated, you took a moment to breathe some fresh air in the backyard. Paul was not far behind with his hand by your hip. “Are you okay?” He asked worryingly. “More than okay. I’m just so grateful to be back. To be here. And having you by my side.” If his heart could beat any faster, it’ll probably run right out of his chest. He crashes his lips onto yours to give you a passionate kiss and pulls away when you lose all the air in your lungs. “I love you so much.” He presses his forehead against yours. “And I will love you for all of eternity.”

Part of a different Wolf Pack
Tumblr media
pairing: wolf pack x female reader
summary: the boys feel betrayed but you girls are enjoying your time with the wolves to the fullest.
warning: not proofread
warning: 1.9k
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You have been acting very suspiciously for the last couple of days and the entire wolf pack is itching to know what you are hiding. When classes are all said and done, you would come by to hang out then quickly make an excuse to exit. Jared has been bugging you nonstop with his questions about what you were keeping secret. Every single time he was hit with the same answer. “Nothing.” Even Embry and Quil were starting to get curious, they even threw you some of their theories about a secret lover, a weird ability, or maybe something embarrassing happened. You shot all of their ideas down. This sent them all in a spiral as they devised a plan to ensure that they will get to the bottom of this mystery pit. The next time you came by, you said hello to everyone then like clock work, you excused yourself. All the boys exchanged knowing glances as they followed you when you were a good distance away. Why in the world are you heading into the deep forest? They steadily watch you follow a marked trail of ribbons on branches with a tote bag carrying something.
From time to time, you would look back and around cautiously before continuing this weird trail. Then they stop, you slide down a mud hill carefully to then finally reach your destination. “Hugo! Mari! Lana! Marco!” You shouted excitedly, your voice directly hitting a strange cave-like structure. Then the boys all held their breaths. A bunch of wild wolves come running your way with their tails wagging. Some were quick to scent you, others snuggled up to you, and then there were some ready to tear your bag apart. “Okay, okay! I got it! Hang on!” You giggled as you brought out a huge piece of raw meat out the bag and the wolves just dug right in. As the group of young wolves feasts away, you move closer to the cave entrance for another wolf, one that is bigger than the others to stare at you. “Hello Milo?” You greet the alpha of the pack and he just slowly blinks at you before moving to the side for you to see his mate. “Hey, girl, how are you doing?” You cheerfully call out as you see her laying in a cozy bed of grass with pups laying around fast asleep. “You’re doing such a good job, Momma.”
Your hand slowly scratched the area behind her ear before you pulled out the medicine to treat her leg. The bandages were gradually unwrapped to see that her wound was healing at a decent rate. After a few drops of medicine, she whines but stops when she sees her mate come in and lay next to her for comfort. “You two are so cute. Reminds me of a lot of the friends I have back home.” You smiled as you brought out new bandages to be placed around her leg. By the time you finished the treatment, the wolves outside only had the bones left of the fresh raw meat you offered. “Jeez, you guys sure have an appetite” You said as you brought another piece only this time, it was for the alpha and his mate. The two enjoy their meal as you head outside to not disturb them any further. “Alright, who’s up for some roughhousing?!” They may not understand a single word you said but they sure know how to play around.
All the wolves would gather around you as they each got their turn dragging you around to play fetch, tug of war, or even just drag you around with your arm in their jaws. They of course would be extra careful knowing that you are different from them physically. Overall, it was great fun and it was evident from how you were laughing away. However, off in the tree lines, a whole other group of wolves felt slightly salty. “So this is what she was hiding all this time?!” Jacob asked in a whisper-yelling tone. “Look at her all happy and crap?” Quil annoyedly spoke as the rest of the pack hummed in agreement.
“Who’s a good boy?! Who’s a good boy?! You are! Yes, you are!” You cheered as Marco hops around you. While he does that, he is suddenly tackled by his little sister, Mari. You watch on the side with the other two wolves roughhouse each other. As the boys continue feeling envious of these wild wolves, Seth accidentally stepped on a twig. Everyone was on edge. You, the wolves, and the boys who are now glaring at Seth frustratedly. Hearing the commotion outside, Milo steps out of the cave to investigate. The boys know just as well as he does that they have been spotted and so made their presence known. “It’s just us! No harm!” They all put their hands up in defeat as you let a sigh of relief out thinking you were done for. “What in the world are you guys doing out here?” You asked interestingly. “We can ask you the same thing.” Paul responded back as he crossed his arms over his chest. “I feel betrayed.” Seth pouts.
“You abandoned us.” Jared exaggerated. “Did not! I was just helping these wolves out. Plus they think of me as family now.” You tried explaining only to have your eyes glued to the forest floor. “Are we not family?” Embry questioned with a raised brow. “Of course we are! It’s just at times, I would like to have a little peace and quiet!” That definitely hit a sore spot for them. “Wow! Just wow! I’m unimpressed, Y/N!” Quil let out, he shook his head. “You guys are seriously mad at me for this?” They were all thinking the same thing. “YES!”
Sighing you just sit back down to pet Lana. “Well I won’t be with them long. I’m only hanging around them to make sure Lotty is alright.” Your eyes darted at the alpha’s mate resting in the cave. Acknowledging your reasons, they forgave you and stood around to play with these wolves. They were definitely having fun since when night was approaching fast, Sam was telepathically asking them about their location. Knowing not to make him wait any longer for the fear of getting in trouble, they got up and ready. You did too, earning a lot of saddened whimpers. “I’m sorry but I have to go. I have my own pack to return to.” That statement really got the boys to fashion big gleeful grins. “I’ll be back tomorrow.” You promised as you scratched each of their heads one last time before leaving with the boys.
The next morning… Saturday morning…
You were up and early to drop off a few things at Emily’s place till you stopped in your tracks. “What are you guys doing here?!” You panicked as you saw the entire pack of wolves lounging around Sam’s front porch. As your mind wandered off, Emily was quick to notice the group of wolves when she woke up. Although worried at first, she was quick to warm up to them. She and Lotty got along real quick. Lotty felt safe showing Emily her pups and Milo didn’t move a single inch as he watched over everyone protectively. Then when Sam made his round outside, there was some sort of tension. Milo was up on his feet when he picked up Sam’s scent heading there way. “Easy, easy.” Emily calmly spoke as Milo stood in front of her and his mate to protect them. “It’s okay. He’s friendly.” Emily told Sam but he wasn’t convinced. Eventually, Milo backed down and returned to his original spot to care for his mate. The boys would soon arrive and be just as surprised.
“OH COME ON!” Jared whined, his hands thrown up in the air. His comment sent the wolves to growl at him for being too loud. You and Emily could only smile at each other. Of course, Kim and Rachel also made their way down when they heard about the whole wolf situation. They were loving it just as much as you and Emily. The wolves absolutely freakin adored you girls while the boys sat outside or watched from inside dejectedly. “Great first our friend. Now our girlfriends?! What next? The house?” Jared complained as he took a huge bite out of a muffin he snatched from the kitchen. “You think they’ll be gone by tomorrow?” Paul asked Jared. They both simultaneously looked outside. “Yeah, that’s not happening.” Jared said as he watched Kim pet Lana. Rachel was playing fetch with Hugo. Emily was still sitting beside Lotty as her pups fought around her lap. And you just sat around with Mari and Milo who didn’t want to be bothered.
As you girls continue playing with the wolves, they start to get hungry and you know it since they are sniffing your bag. “Shoot! I forgot I needed to buy meat for them.” You got up immediately hoping to make the trip quick. “Wait! I’ll come with you, I also need to get a few things.” Emily hopped up for the opportunity. “Me too!” Rachel shouted and no doubt Kim was also going to join. “Great! I’ll drive!” Emily announced as she was quick on her feet to grab her keys. “You boys stay here and make sure the house doesn’t burn down!” Kim shouted as she followed the rest of you girls. They all groaned in agreement as they watched the wolves move around here and there. Milo was still having a hard time being around Sam since both are alpha’s in their own pack.
But he kept calm with Lotty around. “He’s a lot like you Sam.” Jared jokes. Sam just smiles and shakes his head. “I don’t think so.” Hearing that, Jared almost chokes on his food. “Yeah right?! You act the same way around Emily.” Such a bold statement caused him to get an intimidating glare. “Well if you boys acted like these wolves half of the time, I won’t be stressed as much.” He takes a seat on the porch steps watching the wolves.
“WOAH!” Leah gasped as she saw the random forest wolves laying around. “SEE I TOLD YOU SO!” Seth boasts about his win in the argument. Picking up her scent, the younger wolves approached her and rubbed their sides against her. “Hi?” She crouched down to pet them. They are very welcoming to her. A few minutes later, you girls returned with a huge load of food. Emily got to cooking. That just leaves you, Kim, Rachel, and Leah all occupied with the wolves. You were all tired out half an hour later and the wolves still wanted to play.
The boys on the other hand were not enjoying the sight before them. “For once, I can’t wait for patrol.” Quil irritatedly told Embry. Embry just nods as he watches you hang around the wolves. “I feel like I’m being replaced.” Paul grumbled. “Couldn’t agree anymore.” Jared moaned. Enough was enough when you girls decided to mess with them even more by eating outside. “Okay, this is the last straw! You've spent the entire day with those wolves and none with your own wolf! What’s up with that?!” Jared passionately dragged Kim back inside. Sam and Paul soon followed his example. That leaves you and Leah outside, not that you mind as your friends bicker some more. The wolves were just as happy to enjoy their delicious meal. “I could get used to this.” Leah jokes, nudging your side with her elbow. “Me too.”

Berry Picking
Tumblr media
pairing: (boyfriend) jared cameron x (girlfriend) female reader
summary: you found a nice bush full of berries so you decided to harvest them with the help of your boyfriend.
warning: not proofread
word count: 684
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
With a nice warm cup of tea in your hands and the sun hugging you with its warmth, you breathe in the fresh air as the tree’s wave away to enjoy the morning. You just sit on the back porch quietly to appreciate the beautiful greenery before you. Flowers were blooming as bees made their way over to pollinate them, butterflies danced alongside each other, and the birds flew to the bird house filled with food. While you take a small sip from your cup, you couldn’t help spotting a particular bush that was on the corner of one of your fences. Curious, you left your cup on the wooden plank to take a closer look. Well what do you know? You have a bush full of lush berries that were ripe for the picking. You were quick on thinking about harvesting them to eat, make it into juice, jam, and a bunch of other possibilities. But first and foremost, you have to finish your tea before you get busy picking away at the bush. Your cup now empty, you step back inside to see your boyfriend yawn the remaining sleep out of him while he leans his weight on his arm perched on the counter.
“Good morning!” You said as you helped fix up his messy bed hair. “Morning, Pretty girl.” He mumbled as his arms wrapped around you. His head rests in the crook of your neck as he breathes in your scent. “I missed you.” He spoke as he leaned his weight on you. Shaking your head side to side, you hug him back. “It’s only been twenty minutes.” You said amusingly. He just sighs, “Felt longer than that.” You two just stayed there hugging till you decided to start moving to the living room to get a basket to collect the berries. Still sleepy and clingy, he is attached to your back as you walk slowly to the backyard.
When you stopped in front of the bush, you gently tapped on his forearms. “Hmm?” He moans as his head is stuck laying on your shoulder. “Babe, I just need to collect some berries and then we can go back to cuddle, okay?” You bargained as he lifted his head. “Fine.” He pouted, his arms letting you go as you crouched down to start hand picking every berry. As you focus on picking, Jared couldn’t help feeling hungry and so he is crouched down next to you. You didn’t say anything since you were grateful for his help. That is until you realized that the basket wasn’t getting any fuller than it was before. You just put more berries into the basket and caught him red handed as he pulled a few into his mouth. “Really, Jared?” You asked with a pointed look. “What? I couldn’t help it. I was hungry.” He explained as he took one more to eat. You let out a chuckle, “You can eat some but save some for later. I promise I’m almost done. Then I’ll make you breakfast.”
His smile stretched ear to ear hearing that idea, his hands started picking like a mad man. By then there was a mountain of berries in the basket. You lifted it, but the darn thing was too heavy. “Here, let me do it, My Lady.” He joked as he bowed before he brought the basket full of berries into the kitchen. He sets it on the counter as he watches you wash them then prep them to be used later. For now, you just want to feed your very hungry boyfriend dying to taste your cooking. “I can’t wait to see what you’ll whip up today!” He cheered energetically, sitting as patiently as he could on the table to watch you cook. It didn’t take long for a hot plate of food to be placed in front of him. He devoured the entire thing in seconds before he was given a bowl of berries you two amazingly harvested. “Come eat some!” He held one out for you to eat out of his fingers. “Mmm, they're extra sweet!”

False Alarm
Tumblr media
pairing: seth clearwater x female reader
summary: you were outside playing with seth till he started freaking out.
warning: reader getting her first period and not proofread
word count: 592
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Lots of laughter and giggling flew into the air as you chased Seth around. Your arms were out stretched in hopes of tagging him back. But you were never fast enough. Tired and thirsty, you decided to take a short break. It was perfect timing for a water break, so you walked over to your bag that laid on a wooden chair outside. Carefully, you unscrewed the top of the bottle off to be immediately refreshed as you drank more cold water. As you were cooling off, you suddenly jumped when you heard Seth gasp. His eyebrows were knitted together, his eyes wide, and his hands were holding his cheeks. “Y-Y/N! You’re bleeding!” The poor boy was panicking. His thoughts were running wild as every single worst case scenario popped into his head. “LEAH!” He screamed in terror as he saw his older sister rush outside. “What? What? What? Are you two okay? Who got hurt?” Her eyes examined the both of you to see nothing wrong, that is until she followed where Seth was pointing.
The back of your pants was painted red. It was blood. “LEAH YOU HAVE TO HELP HER!” He continues to breathe heavily as you and Leah try to calm him down. The situation is quite funny since you were the one bleeding but Seth is the one thinking the world is ending. Now understanding the entire situation, Leah brought you and Seth inside. There Sue was informed about what was going on and was very understanding. She walked you to the bathroom with a new pair of pants and a pad. Afterwards she left you alone when she explained everything to you so you can have some privacy. Seth is waiting outside anxiously, his hands are fidgeting as he is still filled with worry. “L-Leah, is Y/N going to be okay? She’s not dying… is she?!” His anxiety is peaking every second that goes by. Leah gave him a pitiful smile. “Trust me Lil bro, she’s going to be perfectly fine.” She pats him on the head. “B-but she was bleeding. That’s too much blood for someone to lose!” He justifies his worry. Sue comes over to where Leah and Seth were sitting on the couch to explain the entire period talk. His jaw dropped. The entire thing sounded absolutely… terrifying!
When you returned, Seth ran to you, he hugged you tightly. “Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere?” He quickly spoke. You giggle at his overreaction. “I’m fine, Seth. It’s just my period. There’s nothing to be worried about.” You reassured him but he was not convinced. For the next few hours, he refuses to play outside with you. Instead he insisted you stay inside where you're safe and nothing bad could happen. So this is why you are now on the couch sitting next to Seth watching a TV program with no particular interest. Feeling your throat getting dry, you wanted to get yourself your water bottle but Seth stopped you. “Wait! Where are you going?” He asked nervously. “I’m just getting my water bottle, Seth. No need to get all worked up.” You assured him. He shook his head side to side, “No. I’ll get it for you, you stay right here.” You let out a defeated sigh as you watch him return with your bottle. You drank a couple of sips before putting it down on the ground. “You have to tell me if you feel any pain.” He spoke worryingly. “I will. Trust me, Seth. I’ll let you know.”

Before you and Paul started getting serious about your relationship, you warned him about your family. Not in a threatening way just more out of precaution. Your household houses one of the biggest families in Forks. You come from a big family where you live with your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties, cousins, and brothers. A ton of older brothers, twelve of them to be exact. Yeah, your parents got busy over the years and they regret nothing. Especially when they were informed about having you. You were raised in the safest family there is. Growing up, you were given princess treatment from everyone in your family. They adored you. They were also very, very protective of you. Your safety was on the top of their priority list almost all the time. It didn't matter when or where you were, you always had someone watching you. You love them for wanting to keep you safe but it has gotten to the point where you feel like a caged bird. So by some miracle, you convinced them just at the start of this year that you will be fine by yourself. This started an entire debate between you, your brothers, cousins, parents, grandparents, and etc. It didn’t end until the next five days had passed. You begged them. Unable to deny you, your dad gave in but on a few conditions. You're not allowed to go anywhere far without anyone accompanying you. You also have to give them frequent updates about your location in case they need to find you. Last but not least, no boys. No dating. As your dad’s famous words are, “No boys. The only time you can date is when you turn forty.” Well you followed all of his rules, except the last one. You were bound to break it one day. You just couldn’t wait that long.
It was a sunny day out when you were out taking a stroll on the streets when you accidentally bumped into a guy. You quickly apologized and he assured you that everything was fine. It’s only when the two of you met eyes did something click. It felt like the earth cracked open. He was head over heels for you. Introductions were briefly made before you received a text from your dad telling you to come home for lunch. Worried that this might be the last time you would ever see this guy again, you exchange phone numbers. If it were anyone else you definitely would not be doing that. But he was just different. Something about him made you drawn to him. He was like the forbidden apple you couldn’t have. For the time being you kept your contact with Paul a secret. Quite a difficult thing since you tell him there’s only a certain time he can either call or text you. You knew this was not normal but he was very understanding. Then when things got really serious, you dropped the bomb onto him on why things were the way they were. He just chuckles before telling you that he understands why. “I would be the same. You are too precious.” He comments as he holds your hand while walking together. Eventually, you had to break the news to your family. Rip it off like a bandaid you told yourself.
They were shocked. Questions were thrown at you left and right from every single family member. Your older brothers were worried thinking that Paul might just be using you. Then a pregnant silence fell in the dining room. Your grandmother slammed her hand onto the cloth table as she gained the attention of everyone. “Y/N, my dear?” She calls you. “Yes, Ma’am?” You only ever call her Ma’am when she is annoyed. “Do you love him?” She asked sternly, her gaze never left your figure. “Yes, I do.” You responded boldly, you held your gaze to hers. Her thinned frown slowly curved into a smirk. “Does he make you happy?” She further questioned. “Very. He makes me feel like I mean the world to him.” She seemed very pleased to hear that. “Sounds like a worthy partner. Do you know when we can meet this young man?” Utensils were dropped out of the hands of your other family members. “Mom, you can’t be serious?!” Your dad shouted in protest. Your grandmother sighs, “She’s an adult, my child. What more can you do? You can try shielding her from the world all you want but eventually she will jump over those walls you put up. Now give the young man a chance. Who knows, maybe a wedding would be set a few months down the line.” She joked about the last part before sipping her water. Your dad, brothers, uncles, cousins, grandpa, and grandfather were not looking forward to it. You swallow your fears just praying to the universe that your family will accept Paul.
“Really? They really want to meet me?” Paul asked. You nodded as you scooted closer to him on the park bench. “I just hope you walk out there alive.” He just chuckles, “I’m pretty sure everything will be fine.” You wish you can have his laid back mindset cause everything will definitely not be alright. The date and time were set on a Saturday morning since that is when everyone is free and at home.
You walked with Paul to the front door before you rang the doorbell. He dressed casually and overall seemed chill about the entire thing. You on the other hand were sweating bullets. Your grip on his hand got tighter when your grandpa opened the door. He smiled at you, welcomed you back but his frown was immediate when he saw Paul. It’s not one out of hatred, more one of alert. Paul politely greeted him before he was stunned by how massive your house was. It’s twenty times bigger than any house he has ever stepped foot in. He looked around and one by one did more family members appear. You held your breath as you introduced him to everyone. Paul shook hands with all of them. None of the guys were smiling but the ladies did their best to make him feel at home. You all head to the dining room where a huge spread of food was laid out before you all. “Come, come, sit down and eat.” Your grandma cheered as he took a seat next to you. All eyes were on him, but yet he was not cracking under the pressure. If you were him, you’d be ready to dash out the door any second. Surprisingly, there was no banter, just some random topics thrown here and there. A few questions were even asked to Paul to bring up some more info about his life. They calmly listened before all the food was gone. By then, the atmosphere around you two was slowly thinning. “Y/N, do you mind going upstairs with your Mom?” Your dad asked.
You wanted to object, but you were already being escorted out by your mom, aunts, cousins, grandma, and grandmother. This left Paul all alone to fend for himself against everyone else in your family. He sat there straight and ready. The conversation started off lightly as your dad asked him basic questions about his full name, family background, work, and other things he may want to know. Every single drop of detail was soaked into their mind like a sponge. Your dad did most of the talking till he had no more questions. Your older brothers also got their turns talking to him one at a time. The way Paul carried himself and responded really made them feel at ease. It’s only at a certain point where your grandpa and grandfather got a little vulnerable. “You have to promise us something young man.” Your grandpa spoke with his hands shaking on the top of his cane. “Yes, sir?” Paul said. “You must protect my precious granddaughter at all cost.” His voice shook. “Even if your life depends on it.” Your grandfather chimes in. All your brothers and your dad nodded. “I will. I swear I’ll protect her till the end. I won’t allow anything to happen to her. She means the world to me and if anything were to ever happen to her, I can’t live with myself. I will accept whatever punishment you will see fit.” He bows his in respect and this is where they put their trust in him. Your dad got up, patted him on his shoulders. “You're very lucky, son, to have my daughter. Don’t make me regret my decision.” He stuck his hand out and Paul shook it.
Soon all your brothers eased up around him seeing who he is than what they imagined he was going to be like. Paul fit right in. The conversation was soon shifted onto other topics like sports, alcohol, and relationship advice. When you finally returned to the dining room with overbearing anxiety, your heart almost skipped a beat. You see Paul sitting on the dining table surrounded by your brothers, dad, grandpa, and grandfather all having a great time. He was arm wrestling your eldest brother and he won. “Goddammit! Your hella strong.” He mused as he shook his hand in the air to relieve the tension.
It also didn’t take long for your mom, aunties, cousins, grandma, and grandmother to open their hearts to him. This was an absolute dream come true. Not just for you but for Paul too. He’s never really had a family besides the Pack. But this was a nice kind of different. Your dad treated him like any one of your brothers. Your brothers got along with him quite well due to the amount of jokes, silly competitions they hold, and hanging out. He was welcomed in your home and now a part of the lion's den. “Man, we should have done this sooner!” Your youngest older brother spoke as he clanked his glass of alcohol with Paul’s. You shook your head side to side happily. “You got quite a catch, Lil sis!” Your third older brother teased you as you felt yourself blushing. “Thanks.” You responded shyly as you took a sip of your water.
That day was a blast for everyone. “You’re always welcome to come back!” Your mom shouted from the second floor. He just waves goodbye to everyone, “Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to come back!” He joyously responded as he held you close before driving his way home with you in the passenger seat.
“I can’t wait to start planning the wedding.” Your mom jokes as your grandma and grandmother share a laughter in amusement. They sure can’t wait for him to truly be a part of the family.
