Levi saving Eld, Gunther, Oluo and Petra. But what I really like to notice here is how in the first panel Petra is the only one who runs up to save Levi, to which he responds with "I told you to stay there!" "Just stay back, you won't be safe standing there." if he was aiming to say this to the whole squad he would've said something like "You ALL" plural, not just "YOU".

"I told you all to stay there" if he was aiming for the whole squad, but instead the panel shows us a concerned Petra. And instead of 'all' he says.

"I told YOU to stay there."

You can even see Petra saying she wants to help him.

"I-I have to go!"

"I told you to stay there!"

"B-But—!"

"Just stay back."

"You won't be safe standing there."

In the official SNK Visual Novel Kamiya Hiroshi (Levi Ackerman) and Natsuki Aikawa (Petra Ral) have a scene where they have tea together and talk.

Here's the translation:

Levi: “..Petra.”

Petra: “Yes? What is it, Captain?”

Levi: “How has Eren been doing lately?”

Petra: “He's calmed down quite a bit. (Petra hands Levi his tea) and is also getting along with the rest of the squad.”

Levi: “Is that so? (Levi takes a sip) that's good to hear.”

Petra: “...”

Petra: “Captain Levi.”

Levi: “What is it?”

Petra: “I'm sure we can become a great squad.”

Levi: “I hope so too.”

There are no mistakes in her words.

But Levi doesn't seem to be too optimistic about that.

Because there are no other soldiers more fearful, vigilant and if needed ruthless of Eren's titan power than his men.

But since they are trying to build trust, he guess she can say those words.

The put their lives in the line for Eren, for themselves

And for the Survey Corps as well.

They are all soldiers who are tied by a strong bond.

As if they share the same purpose and completely becoming one.

So this is perhaps why they can become a good team.

No matter how strongly they believe in one another.

Levi: “..But..”

(Petra looks back)

Even if there isn't a trace of misguided trust..

Petra: “Yes? Did you say something?”

Levi: “No.”

They cannot change Eren Jaeger's nature, a perpetual monster.

It's not because of his titan powers, but his soul itself is the monster.

No matter what we do we will never be able to subdue it. Be it violence, authority, danger, fear, positivity..and perhaps, even love.

Petra: “...”

Levi: “...”

Levi: “..Nothing.”

What it will result into, I do not know, even now.

No, I'm sure I will never know. Yeah, I do not understand anything.

Should I believe in my own strength, or believe in the choices my comrades make.

In the end I need to accept what happens.

And In the end we can only move forward.

“Petra and Levi's song connection.”

The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Light Of Two Wings.

Petra and Levi contrast and parallel each other in many ways. One of those ways is how their songs link up together. Not only that but doesn't it remind you of their colors? Petra and Levi are the wings of freedom, the darkness and light, their debut in Jiyuu no Tsubasa showed us that. (And so did Petra's song.)

But now we're going to be talking about Petra and Levi's contrast in their theme songs.

(Extra Note: Souyoku no Hikari came out before The Dark Side Of The Moon. So it might be possible that the connection between Petra and Levi's song is intentional.)

“Souyoku no Hikari/The Light Of Two Wings.”

And

“The Dark Side Of The Moon.”

Already in the titles you can see that they're still using Petra and Levi's dark light color scheme “The Dark“ and “The Light”

But the lyrics of their songs are what match up the most.

Levi: “Brave soldiers fallen behind my back.”

Petra: “In the end of my life, was I a brave soldier in your eyes?”

Levi: “Someday we will certainly destroy the impeding wall and break free.”

Petra: “But you will shoulder all that is white and black. And guide everyone to great distances beyond the walls.”

Levi: I dedicate my life for it.

Petra: If I were to call it something that pure light behind you, the feeling it begets he's it's hope...

The connections are super obvious. Anyone who denies it is just being in denial, Levi and Petra are indisputably connected by their songs.

And how this is a line in Levi's song?

“The dark side of the moon, untouched by the light.”

It's official at this point. They definitely meant it for Levi and Petra's songs to be connected.

Levi: “..Be heartless without hesitation.”

Petra: “Your sterness always stemmed from gentleness. And I felt a warm light behind those harsh words.”

Levi: “For the sake of pushing forward we have to be faster at times.”

Petra: “I recall plenty of of painful things but I made it to where I am, free of doubts, sharing smiles and laughter along the way.”

Levi: “It's not a mistake if it's what you want to do, do it.”

Petra: “Nobody knows what will happen in the future, but you have always behind me giving me the push I need.”

In THESE lines Petra literally finishes his sentence as if they're talking.

Levi: “The are no right answers here—”

Petra: “To choose the path of least regrets, right?”

Levi: “..Just being without regrets is my decision.”

Utahime Iori: A Character Study

Utahime Iori is one of my personal favorite characters, a severely underrated one, AND a very mysterious one.

⚠️slight spoilers for Manga!! ⚠️

So let’s talk about it!

Early years:

 At the beginning  of Gojo’s past arc, her and Mei Mei are on a mission that supposedly lasted three days. Utahime demonstrates a calm demeanor that allow her to come up with a plan that ends up not being put into action due to some interference. After that, Gojo comes and he and her have their now familiar banter of ‘respecting your elders’. All of the calm she had before is completely gone as she almost gets eaten by a curse and saved by Geto. Moments later, she hugs Shoko tightly, establishing their friendship that lasts years. 

 She is capable, tactical, and calm when she needs to be, but can easily get triggered by Gojo. He teasingly calls her ‘weak’, which is something I feel like is more than just a joke for her because… 

“A scar on the face is a badge of honor for a man. Though it’s only a flaw on a woman.” 

 Utahime has a noticeable scar on her face, one that wasn’t there in her cameo in Gojo’s past arc. During the fight between Nobara and Momo, something Momo brings up after brusing Nobara’s face is how scars on women are viewed in the Jujutsu world. It’s a flaw because in their world, women need to be pretty faced and strong enough to fight and handle themselves. 

(Update: in an interview, Gege mentioned that there is no big story surrounding how she got her scar, but I do believe that the implications around her having a facial scar will come into play considering … ya know Shibuya- )

 Utahime is a semi grade 1 female sorcerer who has a scar across her face. She, despite all this, is the teacher at the Kyoto school, the school that is more conservative. Unfortunately, Utahime’s technique is unknown at the moment, but what we do know, is the requirement to gain the semi grade 1 title; 

 After receiving recommendation, the nominee will join a sorcerer of that rank on multiple missions. If they succeed, they get the promotion of the semi grade 1 title. After that, they need to go on a solo mission and exorcise a grade 1 alone to decide if the sorcerer becomes a grade 1 (jjk wiki). 

 She’s stronger than the average sorcerer and had enough status and respect to be able to become the teacher at Kyoto. I think it’s important to note that she’s the teacher at the Kyoto school, the school that’s at the heart of the jujutsu world, where all the big names go and the school with a much more conservative principal.

It’s also important to note that in the initial plan, the students were supposed to distract Fake!Geto and Utahime would work on unsealing Gojo.

Personality:

Most of the times, she is very calm and collected. She is able to keep cool headed and has a decent amount of control over her students, although the Principal has more. The Kyoto kids seem to respect her a lot, and she seems to care for them a lot too

She isn’t exactly the most comforting or ‘motherly’ type. She isn’t good at working in the moment and giving encouragement on the spot, but when Miwa fell asleep during the exchange event, her first instinct was to go and get her. When tasked with finding out which of her students is a traitor, she seemed virtually unbothered by it initially. Ofc Mechamaru was trying to play a double agent role and failed. However, she kept everything on the downlow for the other students. When Mai asks her about it, she simply says “it doesn’t matter, he’s dead now.” She also clearly cares for her friends and coworkers, but will express it in a rather agressive manner.

As I said before, not a lot is known about her and she doesn’t get as much showing time as other characters, but I really want to know more about her. I really, really, want to know her cursed technique. A lot of people believe that with Nobara’s reccent scarring, that Utahime will play a much bigger role, and I honestly can’t wait for the Utahime/Shoko mentor take over.

So yea, just a little summary fo what we know about Utahime Iori!
