Ive literally made this post several times but I'm reminding everyone again that Dick Grayson thought Dorian was Adrian dissociating for at least a little bit and that was also the second time Dick just immediately assumed Adrian was a system over a Vigilante copycat showing up. But the first time Adrian did also think that and they found out that was actually another person at the same time so that ones not so much Dicks fault. But the second time is all on him

Not to TMI post on this stuff right before going to work once again but I think alot about the time my dad had a psychotic episode and they just immediately sedated him even though he was showing no signs of violence because sedating someone experiencing psychosis is just what you're supposed to do if you're a medical professional but people still have to do this stupid bullshit of pretending medical professionals are super niceys and chill about mental illness and always make the right decisions only intended to help you
#the only people around to advocate for my dad were my brother and I who were teenagers and freaking out#his sisters who hadnt spoken to him in years. and his abusive girlfriend#Like yeah get that guy even more incoherent and then ask his panicking children abusive partner and sisters who dont know him a bunch of#questions. Dude also he didnt have a history of diagnosed mental illness but he used to be a alcoholic so#the doctors tried to tell us he just#relapsed and then suddenly stopped drinking again and now hes going through withdrawal and thats why hes psychotic#Like that was not it. And we kept being like 'theres no signs he relasped but he had a pretty bad head injury a few weeks ago do we think#that could be part of it.' and they kept being like no he's probably just drinking again#I think about that whole situation like way too much. Like I hate my piece of shit dad but you know nobody deserves that

Black Jack is really funny because of Tezuka and future writers just using the setup to kind of write about whatever the hell they want because pretty much the only thing that needs to happen in a Black Jack story is someone is having a medical event right. So Black Jack is a comic where one chapter will be about a Vietnamese man enacting revenge on a US soldier for killing his family during the war and the Vietnamese guy then unjustly being hunted down and killed for it and then the next will be about Black Jack turning somebody into a bird

Ok kind of RE on my earlier post but I didnt feel like I could fit it in without it feeling totally irrelevant so Im bringing up right now that episode of the 90s Black Jack OVA with Black Jack helping some Not-Venezuelan communist revolutionaries rescue their prime minister from Not-The-United-States.
This episode kind of lives in my head because its the one time Ive seen a USA stand in country in something that wasnt like a sci fi setting and also that episode literally ended with Black Jack becoming radicalized after watching the communists all get murdered
He says he spent three days waiting at the spot they agreed to meet at "knowing nobody would come". This is after earlier in the episode where their general explains that The Federal Unites is framing their prime minister with fake drug trafficking charges so they have a excuse to invade and take over the country's oil fields and then she asks Black Jack if he believes her and he says he doesnt. It had alot going on.

There are alot of Black Jack chapters about how the united states is evil#that just call it the united states but I also feel like he did arbitraily call it something else once#Tezuka did like mostly use real country names but then sometimes he wouldnt but I do think he did mostly use the fake names when#portraying countries that werent the US in a negative light#I know me saying that after talking about this good OVA episode that makes the US a fake country sounds confusing I think this#OVA episode doing that is good because its doing fake united states alongside a fake south american country#While Tezuka was calling it the US in chapters About The United States Being Evil calling out specific things#mostly the invasion of Vietnam there were alot of Black Jack chapters about the US invasion of Vietnam#There were also some about the US being terrible to Japan specifically too of course but I cant remember if any of those#chapters like directly covered the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagisaki#There were a handful of chapters about white USamericans being racist to Black Jack because hes Japanese that is all I remember#Ok sorry i entered black jack mode
