Research Promposal
my research question will be "How has Pokemon merchandise contributed to American collectivism?"
The idea behind it is, Pokemon has so many things you can collect and America has a problem with collecting things and hoarding things. So, how does Pokemon merchandise affect it? I also chose this because I collect Pokemon things myself, such as cards, plushes, and the games themselves.
People should care because it can be a real problem for people to collect things. It can collect dust and be wasteful. So does Pokemon affect American collectivism?

Do you have a 8? No, Go PHish!
Subject: the email is about a new job opening that's open to everyone. It is also very straight forward, it tells what it is about.
Speaker: the sender is Email Solutions Center. they claim to be someone who has a higher up position to be offering jobs.
Purpose: they want the recipient to apply for a job, they want someone to fill the position. they want the user to click the email and get scammed.
Audience: the main people it is targeting are the people who are unemployed on campus and need a job.
Occasion: the intended is probably because someone left their job or graduated so they need to fill the position. They actual one though is probably because you can work from home and the semester just started.
Genre: it is an email, it has a subject heading and says dear....
tone: supposed to be written formally. it also has the tone of urgency.
ethos: the url is not trustworthy because its not a https, it is an http, which means its not secure. someone named email solutions center doesn't have any credibility offering jobs. There are a couple grammatical error, like run on sentences, weird capital letters.
pathos: they would probably feel a bit of urgency and wanting to get a job. the emotion makes it feel manipulative because it wants you to click the link. the certain group will want to click the link because they want pay.
logos: it does it says they are in need of a person to fill the position. the instructions aren't very clear just say to just click the link and apply, no other instructions. the urgency is a bit exaggerated so you click the link without thinking twice.
kairos: because if you dont click the link the position might be filled already, its first come first serve. they want a quick response so you dont think about it.

Concrete Experience
I was writing an essay on silicon dreams and Trey Timble. I did most of my writing in the middle of the night when i do most of my work. I do the best during this time. I did some brainstorming on a white board which also helped me outline things.
Reflective Observation
The process went smoothly for me, once i outlined things and drew up what i wanted to do everything fell into place. That made it easy. The main challenges were coming up with ideas and getting started.
Abstract Conceptulization
I discovered not to procrastinate because it makes my work worse.
Active Experimentation
I definitely want to get started sooner and I defiantly want to keep using a white board because it helps so much.

Funky Image
This collage is just a mixture of things that are portrayed as the 80s, you see things like Duck Hunt, Nintendo arm thingy, Boom Box, an old timey PC game, and just like 80s style patterns. You can also see lots of vibrant and neon colors that make your eyes want to be put down.
The art piece gives a false sense of nostalgia, i never lived the 80s but i have this sense of "Oh! i remember that". So it makes me feel kinda odd to say i remember something even though i most defiantly wasnt even alive then.
It gives off this goofy type deal where this person is a robot and has a floating head. That part i found pretty silly but interesting in its own way.

How if feel about writing?
To me writing has always been somewhat of a struggle. I tend to never know where to start or how to begin. Once i figure that out tho, I can get moving on everything else and itll flow easily. I have also always had troubles with the thesis, no matter what professor, teacher, or parent, I have always had issues.
I have tried mindmapping and the other stuff but no matter what i always feel like there is a knowledge block that cant be released until the right time. It can be a really awkward phase for me, like rn with the current essay, im just got nothing.

Urban farm core
I wanted a aesthetic that was separated from cottage core but with the farming feel. I love growing plants and crops, but with limited space in a dorm or an apartment it can be hard. So it gives the same idea of farming.
The Minecraft farm is there to show that to want a big farm is impossible, but it is merely a dream in Minecraft to have something that big where I live.
The smaller farm type collage is there to make it feel like you don't need a giant farm even if you are in a urban place. Rural areas mean bigger farms, but in urban farms you can have just as good of farms.
The Blueberries are there because I love Blueberries and if I could grow them I would. :)
Rabbit picking crops is what I would be like and the size farm or garden I would love to have.
The collage of all the different vegetables and fruits are there for me to be like "I wish I could get that plentiful of a garden and be able to produce that".

Today in class we talked about Symbolic, Indexical, and Iconic. I mostly understood them and this is what I noticed when I tied to observe them.
My phone buzz is Indexical because it signifies that I have a notification on my phone.
The word "payday" on my work's calendar signifies that there is a payday but it is only words, so it is symbolic.
My cat in my dorm is just my cat in my dorm. Which would be Iconic.
After reflecting on the powerpoint and doing the assignment, I realized that I now know more, i think. As long as it was done right then i now know a good bit. And thats a huge stepping stone for me.

Welcome to Listerine
Hello, my name is Zachary Lentine! I am from Bunker Hill, West Virginia, which is in the Eastern Panhandle, along the I-81 corridor. I graduated from Mussleman High School, where I decided I wanted to be a history major.
English was always one of my tougher subjects, because I never seemed to have the teachers to help me understand it, or maybe that was my brain just being too stubborn to really try. I was also never too good at reading comprehension, and that really hindered my ability to progress, because I never could focus when reading. I took ENG 101 my first semester, and that was a really good introduction to how English can be, I actually felt productive and was able to learn some things.
A fun fact for everyone reading is that I have been to seven different countries; The Bahamas, Mexico, Grand Caymans, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, and Canada.
