November 12th,

Today Potter looked at me 5 times during breakfast, which is 2 more than yesterday. I think my advanves on him are working.

November 17th,

In class today Potter and I reached for the same jar of gurdyroot. Our hands almost touched.

December 8th,

I’m working on making my intentions towards Potter more obvious. Today I told him that his looks upgraded from a trash bin to a regular bin. He told me to shut up. Normally he tells me to “Sod off,” so I think my advances are working.

December 19th,

I overhead Potter telling Weasel that he prefers blondes to brunettes. I started choking on my lunch and had to skip class because I got salad dressing on my tie. Pansy says I’m overreacting but I’m not so sure.

December 24th,

Potter was in Diagon Alley today wearing a green jumper that just perfectly complimented his eyes. We made eye contact and I tried to wink but I’m not great at winking so I pulled a weird face and Potter glared. He didn’t say anything, though, so I’ll take it as a win.

January 16th,

I think I’ll tell Potter he can do much better than the Weaslette, and hopefully implement the idea of dating me into his head.

January 17th,

Update: The plan did not go as expected. Potter punched me after I told him, but he avoided my eyes and punched my cheek instead so I’m going to consider it another win. What if he subconsiously doesn’t want to mess up my face because he finds it attractive?

January 31st,

It’s been 4 days since Potter has spoken to me. I should get his attention.

February 1st,

I spent all night coming up with the perfect idea. Today I told Potter in Potions class that his hair looked like a lion attacked it. He called me an arsehole, but to be fair I was doing him a favor. He would look extremely sexy with a haircut.

February 4th,

Potter got a haircut. Merlin. I did not think this through. I couldn’t stop blushing, so I didn’t go to class today. I wonder if Potter missed me…

February 6th,

I don’t think my advances are working fast enough. I’m reevaluating, and I think it’s more efficient if I first become his friend before he realizes how wonderful I would be as a potential boyfriend.

March 10th,

Potter always compliments Granger for recieving the highest marks. It’s clear he values intellect in his friendships. The past four weeks I have worked to improve my grades in hopes of passing Granger’s ranking. It hasn’t worked yet, but I make sure to mention my grades loudly around my friends just in case Potter eavesdrops into my conversations.

March 14th,

Granger was working with the Weasle today in Potions, so I made sure to leave my table open for when Potter was inevitably the last student to arrive. Our hands touched 3 times in class.

March 15th,

We had to continue with the same partners for Potions again. Today, Potter touched my hand twice and my arm 4 times. Today was a good day.

March 23rd,

Today, I made a joke in Care of Magical Creatures to Blaise and I heard Potter laugh from across the room.

April 1st,

Today I worked up the courage to tell Potter I like him. He got angry and told me to stop making fun of him. I’m not sure why?

April 2nd,

Pansy says I’m an idiot. I suppose I should’ve waited another day. Potter didn’t look at me during classes or meals.

April 8th,

It’s been a week and Potter still refuses to look at me. I’m very worried - I hope he isn’t sick…?

April 11th,

Pansy said I should try and talk to Potter but when I sat next to him in Potions, he got very red and told me to “sod off” before I could say hello. I’m not sure why.

April 13th,

I sat next to Potter today and he didn’t say anything. I wonder if he felt sick because he was very red again. I told him not to puke on my shoes and he got upset before he left class. I think he went to throw up in the bathroom?

April 18th,

Potter still won’t talk to me!

April 20th,

I cornered the Weaslette and demanded she tell me what is wrong with her boyfriend and why he won’t talk to me. She laughed and said they weren’t dating? I’m very confused, and she didn’t even tell me what’s wrong with Potter!

April 27th,

I caught Potter staring at me from across the street in Diagon Alley and demanded he tell me why he was ignoring me. He said it’s a long explanation but I was already on my way to get a drink, so I told him he could follow me. He didn’t end up telling me what was wrong, but we did have a lovely conversation over a cuppa.

April 28th,

Potter smiled at me across the hall during breakfast.

i always think about that study where they had adults hold a baby, and when they were told the baby was a girl the adults said she was cute and small, and when they were told the baby was a boy they said he was big and strong. they rated the baby’s ability to do things and tendency towards certain toys differently. they even held the baby differently. (x) or when they rated the baby’s physical ability to do various tasks such as climbing up a slope differently, (x) & when they measured how much parents told their girl children vs. their boy children to be careful and stop being so rowdy (x), & when they measured how often girls and boys were told to be quiet. (x) this was, obviously, all unconscious behavior in the adults. they’re not all like, raving sexists who outspokenly believe that women can’t do stuff or that girls really should just be quieter, be more still than boys. like its not even counting the direct, actual messages, its just literally how every single person in your entire life treats you, and if asked they would probably deny that its even because you’re a girl. how the fuck am i supposed to believe this doesn’t affect a child’s development when its literally constant throughout the entire process

Everyone, make up your minds:

First, yall were freaking out that Dumbledore and Grindelwald “might not be gay” because they didn’t come right out and say it or do it (kissing or otherwise) in the movie. Now, J.K. Rowling releases a statement saying that they had a very passionate relationship– which you can glean from reading the novels anyway– and everyone is now all offended? What will make you asshats happy? First of all, she doesn’t owe any of us anything. Her universe is her own, she doesn’t have to make anybody gay or not gay or anything just because you say she has to. That being said, she did in fact announce once that Dumbledore is gay; not to appease any of you, but because people where curious and she said that she felt he could– COULD– be gay. This alone should’ve been enough to begin with, but, next what happens is that everyone automatically assumed that his lover would be Grindelwald since they had such a strong friendship as Dumbledore told us in book 7. That’s actually excellent deduction on the part of the fans since it fits Dumbledore’s MO as being a power-hungry elitist as a young man. Just like Grindelwald! Geeze! What a concept! They’re perfect for each other! Friends or otherwise! And they say all the best relationships start as just friends! Also, spoiler alert, they hinted at things in this movie to prove all of this– which is good character development as opposed to just coming right out and saying “Look at us! We’re gay!” But none of any of this was good enough for you all, so you lash her for pushing the point that he is gay? Like, what? Get your heads out of the obscene smut that your little friends write exclusively for you and actually read the masterpiece that is Harry Potter. You’ll see that this woman actually knows what she is doing. Maybe then you’ll have a little respect for the person who IS the ultimate example of a strong, independent woman.

Just the opinions– supported by facts– of a white, christian, cisgendered male who loves the Harry Potter series, can’t wait to see how Dumbledore and Grindelwald resolve their relationship in later movies, and who is tired of the bullshit coming out of the mouths of fake fans who are just jealous they couldn’t be as successful as the greatest woman alive today, J.K. Rowling.
