Studied for biological psychology today. Also, that’s the building I’m studying in lately. It’s the maths building on campus, but my friends have their courses there, so I’m studying there too. And it has air conditioning, so obviously it’s the only way to survive a study session with the heat outside…

I finally landed on a weekly spread I like… but it’s pretty much just a planner 😅

Also last weekend my friends and I went up to the highest public floor at the “Cathedral of Learning” and I was once again overwhelmed by the amount of trees here.

The origami rose is from one of my friends who was only here for half the program 💮 🌹 🌼 🌸

23.07.17: Stationary Shopping

I went out to get my new stationary over the last couple of weeks and I’ve finally collected (nearly) everything I’ll need for the fall term. I’ll still have to buy some squared notebooks, but the ones use are boring, plain old squared notebooks and they’re also not particularly pretty, so I’ll probably just buy them a few days into the semester..

The first thing I got were the Stabil Boss Pastel highlighters and they’re gorgeous. I had the Pilot Frixion ones last semester, but I don’t use them anymore since they dried out extremely fast and got lighter and lighter, until they were really hard to see on paper. 

I also got some gel ball point pens in various colors which I’ve grown very fond of. They’re not from any particular brand, I just got them in a french supermarket called Super U since they were really affordable. They write really smoothly and without ever drying or leaving drops of paint at the beginning of a letter, which is something really important for me in ballpoint pens. I also got two 0.7mm Gel Point pens in black (only one’s in the pictures). They’re a little thick, as I should have anticipated, but they write really smooth and I like my handwriting with them, so I’m probably going to use them at some point.

The pink and grey notebook is also from Super U. It’s squared inside and otherwise some generic little notebook I’m gonna use to write myself a study guide for developmental psychology next semester. 

Lastly, I got a pink folder with a floral design and a big blue envelope with feathers on it to hold my notes before I put them into my big binder. Since I don’t use separate binders for every subject anymore that I carry around, I only take the notes I really need that day and keep them all in a folder. Keeps my bag lighter. :)  The envelope will also hold printed journal articles, scripts or other stuff I’ll need. And it has a REALLY CUTE BUTTON to hold it closed! I LOVE IT!!!

Re-orientation week! and starting 100 days of productivity

Today is the second day of the second trimester this year.  I only have four courses until I complete my degree!  During the break, I worked a lot and binge-watched a bunch of shows.  Block NZ is my current guilty pleasure. 

I got a mixed bag of grades last trimester, so I am aiming to get some pretty high grades this time.  This trimester I also have to apply for all of the postgraduate degrees I want to get into, so I have to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life, and where I want to study it. 

This trimester I am taking:

Psychology, Crime, and Law

Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience

Advanced Research Methods in Psychology

Multivariate Statistics

I am going to be taking a record of my attendance, and log how much study I do each day.  One of my courses has a lecture that finishes at 6pm, which I’m not so keen about.  

Our university uses a website to sign up for different tutorial/laboratory times, each course goes live at a different time, one went live yesterday, one goes live at 8pm tonight, and one goes live at 9am tomorrow.

In my downtime today I am adding each assignment date to my planner and app, so that I can be organised and space out workloads, instead of doing everything at the last minute like last trimester.  I’m also going to sign up for the gym, because they have a really decent offer, and I can also use it for the campus closer to my house.

Hi everyone!  We’re very sorry for the slow updating of points recently, but most of us prefects have been very busy with exams and private stuff, so we haven’t been that active over the last weeks.

my favorite way to relax in the evening is reading a book! currently i’m reading Elle by Maria Barrett! it’s really good so far!!!

sorry for not posting yesterday! i was celebrating summer solstice! even though i was celebrating, i still revised the hiragana i had learned in the previous days. gotta keep em in my brain somehow!

i also tried the duolingo japanese course, and didn’t really like it. guess i’ll try some textbooks or internet courses next!
