“Supernatural went for fifteen,” Lili mumbled under her breath as Cole hugged her a little tighter to his chest but she knew what he was trying to get it. She was grateful for all the years the show had given her but that didn’t stop her from the painful ache of saying goodbye. She felt homesick for a home she hadn’t quite left yet. Even though a majority of the cast had wrapped yesterday, some were still there to congratulate Cole, Mads and Lili as they were the last three to be shot. Lili wiped at her eyes again and then a fresh new wave of tears came as an already sobbing Mads flung herself at the blonde. It was going to be a long night.
Lili was right, supernatural had run for fifteen years but Cole had had a feeling that the cast on that show had been pretty happy to leave. He was glad Riverdale was wrapping up while still on a high note. Everyone still enjoyed working together and he knew they’d all still be friends for years to come. He untangled himself from Lili as Madelaine came over. They were both crying so Cole figured he’d let them have their moment, choosing instead to take a sleeping Ellie off a crew member. His daughters were the true test of how far this show had taken both he and Lili and it was something he’d always be grateful for. “Are you guys hungry? Maybe we can stop for dinner before we head home?” There wasn’t a whole lot else to do on set now that they’d finished but Cole wasn’t really sure he was ready to end the night.

“C’mere honey” Cole walked so he could pull Lili closer to him. He was definitely sad that the show was over but he wasn’t much of a crier. He’d cried when both their daughters had been born and when he and Lili had gotten married but apart from that there wasn’t a lot that truly made him teary. It was probably good because he was sure Lili was crying enough for the both of them. It wasn’t a bad thing, he just knew she was a very emotional person so he’d expected this. “I know, we had a good run though. Not many shows can say they went for seven seasons”

Lili had been pressing a Kleenex to her eyes all day and she could feel just how sore and scratchy they were. The makeup artists certainly had their hands full just re-applying makeup every time a ‘cut’ was called. Lili was glad some scenes did require tears and those scenes flowed beautifully because the emotion was just so real. She was saying goodbye to one of the best parts of her life and everything was about to change and re-adjust. “No,” she sniffled in response to Cole’s question and wiped at her eyes again. “This is really hard.”

“And that’s a series wrap on Riverdale” Cole couldn’t believe he’d actually heard those words come from Roberto’s mouth. In some ways it has felt like this day would never come and in others it felt like it had come all too quickly. Season seven had definitely felt like the shortest season filming wise. Once all the clapping died down, Cole turned to Lili. “You okay?” His wife had been crying on and off all day so he was sure she was actually okay but he wanted to ask none the less.

It’ll be really weird when we no longer have to wake up and drive to set every morning.

The food really is the best part and getting to hang with everyone outside of work is nice. Child free is even better.
What I’ve learned from last night is the thing I love most about sporting events are the food. The food was glorious.

Or they’ll say ‘Mommy, I don’t understand what you’re trying to say, you have too many weird sentences’.
They already say that so you’re probably right. Well Charlie does anyways. Ellie probably agrees with her baby babble.

I don’t know. I think these might be more private entries for you and the girls to look at one day if you’d want to.
That’d be nice. Little poetry memories. I’m sure the girls would love that.

Despite Cole’s hope, Lili knew that Ellie was going to cry again. She was sleeping in hour intervals and it really, really sucked but it was where they were at right now. She closed her eyes and arched her neck to enjoy the last few remaining seconds of Cole’s mouth on it before she sighed and sat up. Her hair was mussed up and her bra strap was sliding down her shoulder so she pulled it back up and grabbed Cole’s shirt to wear. “Have kids, you said,” she grumbled but her tone was laced with tired affection and she was hiding a smile behind her pout. “It’ll be fun, you said. My poor vagina is suffering in so many ways.” With a dramatic exhale of breath, she was up and moving towards Ellie’s room to fulfill her motherly duties…once more.
“I don’t think either of us said we should have kids” Cole joked. It had never really been a conscious decision of theirs, Charlie had just come along and made the choice for them. Cole watched Lili leave with an affectionate smile on his face. The couple minutes they’d had together had been nice even if it was short lived. He knew this season of life wasn’t going to be forever either. Charlie was already three years old and Cole missed the days when she was as small as Ellie so he was trying to soak in Ellie being a baby as much as he could. He got up off the bed and followed into Ellie’s bedroom. “Everything okay?”

Lili laughed against Cole’s mouth, unable to help herself. It was endearing that he was still so desperate for her after all this time. She kissed him back though, her hands clutching his cheeks as well as she backed them up towards their bedroom. She was hardly dressed in her ‘sexiest’ underwear but she had a feeling Cole wouldn’t mind. Thankful that their door was open, Lili continued to walk backwards until she fell onto the bed and eagerly reached to move Cole’s shirt off. The desire was stirring in her stomach and she suddenly couldn’t wait to feel her husband’s hands all over her body once more. She was in the middle of removing her own shirt when a crackled cry left the baby monitor and Lili literally groaned out loud, “No.”
Cole kept his hands around Lili’s waist as they made their way through the apartment and back to their bedroom. They really hadn’t had anytime together in a long while so Cole was really hoping they’d have time tonight. He helped Lili remove his own shirt once they were back in their room and Cole winced when the baby monitor went off. “Ignore it, maybe she’ll go back to sleep” He told Lili as he kissed her again. He wasn’t really sure whether he was trying to convince himself or Lili of that more. The monitor was silent for a minute so a small part of Cole hoped that his words had actually worked until he was moving down Lili’s neck. The monitor went off again, with a more hearty wail that didn’t stop and Cole stopped. “Well that was fun while it lasted”

Lili watched Cole as he walked away, her eyes focusing on his butt (still great) before she let out a soft sigh. She too missed quality time with her husband but after Ellie’s birth, the time to be intimate was few and far between. Maybe they could schedule a weekend away or maybe Ellie would be kind to her parents tonight and allow them a quickie. Time would tell. She turned on the sink and let her hands soak in warm dish water, scrubbing at the plates and pans as she listened to Cole’s voice filter out through Charlie’s open door. She smiled. He went all in with voices, it was clear he was a natural performer. When she was done, she dried her hands off with a dishtowel and made her way back over to Charlie’s bedroom. The little girl was already passed out with her mouth hanging slightly open and her covers on one leg only. Lili gently adjusted the blankets, gave her a kiss and then grabbed Cole’s hand to pull him up. “Now it’s our time.”
Sometimes Charlie demanded what felt like a never ending amount of books and other nights like this one, Cole barely got through three before she had fallen asleep. He moved her to the middle of the bed and just watched her for a minute. Most nights he could barely believe that he and Lili had gotten lucky enough to have a daughter as sweet as Charlie. She truly was one of the best things to ever happen to them. Cole’s thoughts were interrupted by Lili joining him in the bedroom and he put the few books back on the shelf next to the bed before letting Lili pull him up. “I like the sound of that” He told her, keeping his hand in his and shutting Charlie’s bedroom door behind them. As soon as the door was shut, Cole pulled Lili in for another kiss. Both kids being asleep at the same time was a rarity so he knew they had to make the most of it.

“Thank you,” Lili hummed against Cole’s lips. Charlie, who seemed to be bored with her parents PDA, had let go of Lili’s hand and ran to her bedroom. It was getting to be about her bed time too so they’d have to wrangle her into bed soon. She didn’t always go down quietly but she didn’t seem too hyped up tonight so maybe they’d get lucky. Lili placed her hand on Cole’s chest and gave him another peck on the lips. “You want to read her a story while I get started on the dishes?” It was so incredibly domestic but truly, Lili loved it. She loved her simple, quiet life when she wasn’t busy being an actress. Chores were so mundane and listening to Disney+ play Pixar films over and over could get old but she wouldn’t trade her life for anything. “Then maybe I can spy on you and get all in my feels.”
Cole was unsurprised that Charlie had gotten bored and run off. She didn’t often stay still long enough for much. “I would really like to continue this but I guess I will do my fatherly duties first” Before Ellie had been born, he and Lili had been in a great routine with Charlie and it had been easy to have time just the two of them but with a tiny baby that time had diminished by a lot. He pressed a kiss to Lili’s head before leaving to follow Charlie to the bedroom. He helped her brush her teeth and then the two of them settled on Charlie’s toddler bed for some stories. Charlie loved to read so it was always a nice time for Cole to spend with her at the end of the night.

Ellie had finally settled with her fussing so Lili stood up, depositing her down in her crib and pressing a finger against her lips so Charlie would understand to be quiet. She held Charlie’s hand to exit the room and then turned around to see Cole leaned up against the doorway with a soft, affectionate look in his eyes he reserved solely for her and she blushed. Even after all this time, he managed to make her blush. “Hi,” she whispered and moved forward to turn on the night light and leave the door cracked open. The baby monitor was on so they could hear Ellie if she woke up but hopefully she’d sleep for more than a hour tonight.
She pressed a kiss to Cole’s cheek, her fingers still intertwined with Charlie’s. “Were you spying on us?” She teased, leaning her body into his.
Cole would never get tired of watching his wife with their daughters, especially with how much he could see that Charlie looked up to her. They were like two peas in a pod and Charlie just looked more and more like Lili as she grew. He watched Lili lay Ellie down and when she turned around with Charlie, he knew he’d been caught watching them. Not that he thought Lili would really mind. “Guilty” He replied, leaning down to press a kiss to Lili’s lips. “You have a beautiful voice”

Lili was shameless enough to have the songs she had performed on Riverdale on her Spotify playlist.
She was proud of her singing voice. She wasn’t professionally trained but she had always been able to carry a tune and she liked to do it. When she was younger, she had filmed herself on YouTube doing covers of musical artists she adored, like Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Ray. She had even sent phone recordings of her singing her favorite love songs to Cole back in the day, the early days of them dating when every love song made her think of him. She didn’t do it much anymore as there just wasn’t enough hours in the day to be a mom of two, a wife, a working actress, and have time to spare but she still loved to sing.
Her mom had sang to her as a little girl and Lili wanted to do the same for Charlie and Ellie. Sitting in the rocking chair in Ellie’s nursery with Ellie in her arms and Charlie falling asleep at her feet, Lili hit shuffle on her playlist and smiled as Seventeen came up. Now her girls could hear Mommy and Daddy sing to them. “Don’t you want a life with me,” she sweetly crooned to them, her finger brushing over Ellie’s forehead and her free hand running through Charlotte’s blonde curls. “Can’t we be seventeen…”
Loading the dishwasher, Cole made sure the rest of the kitchen was cleaned up and tidied away before he made his way to join Lili and the girls. Usually Charlie would’ve been bouncing around the house already so he was interested to know what Lili was doing with them that was keeping them so occupied. Ellie was only three months old so she was still a little potato who couldn’t do much but Charlie was a rambunctious toddler with a lot of energy.
He was only a little surprised to see that Lili was singing along to one of their Riverdale songs with Ellie and Charlie. Cole leaned against the door and just listened to her sing. Her voice was mesmerising and Cole couldn’t blame either of their daughters for being so wrapped up in it. He himself had definitely fallen asleep a time or two to Lili’s angelic voice. Charlie and Ellie even more so.

“C’mon Charlie finish your dinner, Mads will be here soon” It was almost painful for Cole to try and get Charlie to eat dinner most nights. She was a sweet girl but she had inherited both her parents stubbornness. It was like scratching nails on a chalkboard trying to get her to eat sometimes so Cole was really looking forward to going out to dinner with Lili and having their first child free night that they weren’t working in almost two months. He knew he and Lili sorely needed some time together just the two of them so even if it wasn’t a super long time.

Lili had a feeling their phones were going to explode in excitement. She shot Cole a wry grin and then as soon as Ellie was done, adjusted her so that her breasts were covered up once more and began to eat. God. If she could moan aloud, she would but she didn’t want to alarm her family. This food tasted so good after the ordeal she had gone through. “They said they can release me tomorrow if nothing changes,” she told Cole as she ate. “Is everything set up at the house?”
Charlie took the burger half that Cole was offering her and ate it. She’d become a little less picky as she’d gotten older which made it easier for them to eat out. “That’s nice. We’ll only have to be away two nights” He didn’t mention to Charlie that she wouldn’t be staying with them. That seemed like something for later so they didn’t scare her. “It is. Charlie helped me set up the car seat earlier” It wasn’t lost on Cole how’d they’d had Charlie’s car seat set up for weeks before she’d been born and Ellie’s had gone in after she’d arrived. He knew that he and Lili were more relaxed as second time parents. “And I changed the sheets on the other guest bed so your Mom can visit whenever she wants”

Oh, right. Lili hadn’t even noticed the food. Once Ellie was done, Lili was sure to munch on some fries as well. She hated hospital food, no matter how prestigious the hospital was. She knew she’d have to watch what she ate while she was breastfeeding Ellie but a few fries wouldn’t hurt…nor would that burger she was suddenly smelling. She adjusted Ellie so she could suck better and smiled at Cole. “Thanks. We probably should tell…before we get yelled at.”
Cole picked at some fries from one of the bags and pulled his phone from the side. “Okay I’m going for it” He sent the text along with the photo he’d taken of Lili and their girls to a couple group chats that they had and then put his phone down. Alamos immediately he could hear both their phones going off with notifications but Cole paid it no mind. “Charlie, you want some burger?” He asked her, tearing off a bit for her to eat.
