Yet each man kills the thing he loves, By each let this be heard, Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword!

“you and your mom will remember this moment” says a lady walking by as my mother and i work in pouring rain, in the front lawn, getting rid of leaves. we laugh and go back to our work, soaked. 10 years later we reminisce on that moment in the car, “i think the only reason i remember that moment is because the lady said something” i say. and it’s true. what was otherwise just a normal activity turned into something memorable, because someone said something.

A lot of the time I feel as though people strive for happiness and I’m guilty of this as well, to be happy seems like the end goal. But, at the end of the day happiness 24/7 isn’t viable or an emotion that can be kept up for that long which is why being content with yourself, your life, your goals, is something more attainable. It’s the feeling of waking up in the morning and smiling because you hear the birds chirping and it's just cold enough to want to stay under the blankets a little longer. It’s also the feeling of knowing that while life is stressful, it’s just one day, one moment, and you will make it to the other end.

how do you let go of grudges? much love from wales xx
hi! i think it depends on the grudge, sometimes they are worth holding on to but, if you feel a grudge is not worth holding on to, i think the first step is figuring out why you hold the grudge. do you just hold grudges? was it something deeply personal?
And then i think it can just take time or an understanding of what the other person might have thought. i do think grudges aren’t the worst thing in the world as long as they don’t consume you, nothing should ever completely consume you. idk if that’s fully helpful but it’s a bit hard to be both general and specific at the same time <3

text: “But books, like people, die. They die in fires or floods or in the mouths of worms or at the whims of tyrants. If they are not safeguarded, they go out of the world. And when a book goes out of the world, the memory dies a second death.”

I get my media recommendations the old fashioned way: by watching someone I follow on here go on an unhinged reblog spree of media related content until I eventually decide to go "alright, what's all this then"
