Final Reflection

I have definitely enjoyed my CAS journey for the past 18 months. Activity, I have overcome many challenges, meet new people, learn new skills, and experience fascinating moments. The thing that I enjoyed the most was running. I have done it for the whole 18 months regularly. In the beginning, I run only 5 kilometers, but now 10 is no longer a problem. Apart from that, this activity allowed me to reset my batteries, forget about school, and simply spent the time pleasantly on my own. In addition, I am very happy that CAS motivated me to take up football once again. I joined a team where I can compete in competitive tournaments and at the same time meet new fascinating people. Creativity has allowed me to develop my imagination skills. I have a very different view on cooking now, I more strongly concentrate on the present textures in a dish, on its complexity and richness rather than just taste. I believe that eating is a pleasant experience, not a duty. Without a doubt, I will continue to improve my cooking skills in the future as it has become one of my greatest passions. Finally, Service has developed me as a human being. I had a chance to participate in 4 different activities that thought me something different. English classes with student made me more empathetic and allowed me to improve my communication skills. Volunteering at the COVID screening point gave me a chance to master my organizational skills. On the other hand, in Bródnowski Hospital I developed my problem-solving skills and witnessed the realities of hospital life. Lastly, McDonald's foundation has thought me how to adapt to uncomfortable situations and despite the odds still help others. To sum up, CAS experience has broadened my knowledge, developed many crucial skills, and allowed me to become a better person.

CAS CREATIVITY 28.02.2022

Today i decided to compare two types Of mozzarella in order to choose one for lasagne. Without a doubt the one on the left hand side was better thanks to its creaminess. My reflection is that I should more often do such comparisons as it greatly influences the final taste of a completed dish.

Today i went running with my dad. We both had so much Fun. My reflection Is that running Can also be a pleasant activity when done with someone.

As planned During the previous classes, we concentrated on something more enterteining. Being a huge football Fun, student wanted to watch and discuss famous goals. I Have also added an academic apsect to it by discussing vocabulary tekstem to football.

Student last time indicated to go through the song Empire State Of Mind. I decided that i would be both pleasant and academic activity. We had so much Fun together translating the song. I refelect that i should do this kind Of lessons more often.

Today i decided to cook a tomato curry soup. The result was delicious, however i could add more greens to make the taste more complete. Next time i will definitely add coleander.

During the second week of my stay in Italy i decided to focus on freestyle. I had a Great time snowboarding in the snow park. My reflection Is that next time i should become more confident and try to jump from bigger kickers which would allow me to try new more complex tricks.

Today I decided to make a final lessons about the future tenses and use the acquired knowledge on both challenging and easy exercisers. I reflect that I should change the subject of our lessons to make them more interesting for the student. I am open to student’s ideas and look forward to implementing them

CAS CREATIVITY 16.01.2022

Today I decided to focus on such common ingidient which is a carrot. The final result was delicious- it was a little bit sweet thanks to the honey I added but also there I had a pleasant crunch. I reflect that maybe I can incorporate more ingredients to this dish to make it more complex.

CAS ACTIVITY 29.01.2022

Finally, the winter has come. I had a chance to go to Italy and ski with my friends for the first week. I reflect that I should focus more on my technique in order to snowboard more confidently and professionally from sharp slopes. I will definitely focus on edge turning in the forthcoming week.

Today I decided to continue the subject of future tenses and introduce new formal vocabulary. I can se that the amount of time spent on this subject allowed the student to fully familiarise himself with the grammatical rules. However, I reflect that he still should practice this tense to feel more confident using it both while writing and speaking.

CAS CREATIVITY 05.01.2022

Today I decided to cook pizza from scratch once again. This time I added way more cheese which proved to be fruitful as it was better than before. My reflection is that I still should work on the pizza dough as this time it was to crunchy.

CAS ACTIVITY 04.01.2022

Today i went running despite bad weather. I planned to run at least 7 km but ended up running almost 10. I had a great time that allowed me to think about something else than new year school duties. I reflect that it is a very healthy activity for both my body and mind.

I finalised my CAS project in December by participating in the annual “Write for rights” letter writing marathon organised by Amnesty International. Before the event, I conducted research about numerous countries (such as Nigeria, Guatemala etc.) and pressing issues considering those countries’ citizens. I found out a lot about the unfair treatment from the governments, NGOs, and peoples’ dovotion for the social improvement being severely punished. Apart from that, I have also helped during the physical organisation of the event by providing enough ample of letter papers. During the marathon we managed to write exactly 161 letters in just 2 days. I found this activity very meaningful as we fight for somebody’s freedom that was illicitly curtailed. I also asked my family and friends to participate who were pleased to do so. The activity spreaded awareness and engaged more people into this righteous cause. The purpose of this activity was to bring the attention of people in authority to the unjust treatment of certain individuals. I wrote 10 letters to the Embassy of Nigeria asking for the release of a man who was incarcerated because he participated in protests against violence. As a person that participates in such strikes a lot, I find his situation extremely unjust. My reflection of this project is that even though one letter might not seem influential, in pair with other ones may make a important difference and help those in plight.
