Priscilla’s letter to Elvis Presley January 5, 1963:
Dear Elvis, Enclosed is the extra ticket your father purchased. I tried to get it to you as soon as possible so that the money can be refunded. I don’t know how long it takes, I hope it’s not too late. Well, I’ve been talking with my dad and a decision hasn’t yet been made. But still, he hasn’t said no, so at least I know there’s a chance. Like you said, his main concern is living in a strange place and where I will stay. The more I think of it Elvis, the more I wish I would have stayed there. He wouldn’t have done a thing, not a thing. He talked as if he would of, but I know different. I hope to God his answer will be yes. If it isn’t, well you know how it will be. Because believe me, I need you just as much as you need me, as you said it isn’t fair for us to be apart. I’ll keep on trying though and talk with him and just pray he says yes. I love you so much and don’t for one minute ever forget it. I was just thinking, if my father does say no Elvis we just can’t give up. We’ve got to let him know it means everything to us. He just may say it to test me. But whatever he may say, i’m ready for it. Tomorrow, I start school again. With all my heart, I’ve never dreaded anything so much as that. With no interest in it what so ever. I have to go, i’m forced again!! I’ll leave for now, you take good care of yourself and remember I’m doing everything possible. There is a chance. Forever yours, Priscilla
