HPHM Unpopular Opinions

So recently I gave been seeing a lot of Ben hate and Merula love. And I really want to know if other people agree with me.

Personally, I love Ben. He is one of my favorite HPHM characters behind some obvious favorites. I understand how and why he has changed. Over the past few years, I have undergone a similar changes for a similar reason. I did not change as dramatically as Ben did, but I understand his actions and motives. I am not supporting all of his wrongdoings in the recent chapters, but I still understand him.

Merula, on the other hand, I don't understand. I want to be able to like Merula (I really do and I try all of the time) but everytime I begin to love her as a character, JC has her act in a way that reminds me of my childhood bully, even in Year 6. I think the side quests really make her lovable and show a soft side of her. But the main story keeps of regressing the progress that she makes to give her a soft side.

I am not saying that my opinion is correct. I am just really curious why people dislike Ben, yet love Merula.

I’d like to see more interactions between Diego and Merula because they have the exact same personality (so insecure they make Ben Copper look chill, always trying to make eVerYoNe simultaneously admire them, fear them and love them), and that’s why they understand each other, are best friends, hang out all the time and will be each other’s children’s godparents

Alexa Clark Headcanon #1

Alexa's mother, Madeleine, immigrated from America to Ireland with her immediate family when she was a child in order to go to Hogwarts. In result, Alexa still has family in America from her mom's side of the family.

Every summer, she visits America for a month to see family. She is especially close to her two cousins: Emily and Christopher Rosier. Emily (2 years older than Alexa) and Christopher (same age as Alexa) both possess magical abilities. So when the three of them are together, they go on adventures, telling each other about the crazy stuff they have done at school.

💛Hufflepuff Alexa💛

This is the normal Alexa. I love her!!!

❤Gryffindor Alexa❤

Unlike with any other house, Gryffindor Alexa is the only one to have enough guts to get contacts. The thought of putting something on her eye does not scare her. This being said, she is also a daredevil. She loves to experiment, making her the perfect lab rat for new spells and potions. In fact, due to her desire to test out new potions, she quickly becomes one of Snape's favorite students (helping him grade students potions quicker than he would if he had to go through each potion alone).

💙Ravenclaw Alexa💙

Ravenclaw Alexa is more reserved, trying her best to keep to herself. When her brother disappeared, she ran away from home to try to find him. As a little kid, she went from wizarding town to wizarding town to collect as much information about the Cursed Vaults as possible before she even set foot in Hogwarts. So as soon as she was accepted, she did not waste any time finding the Vaults. Her journey would have been quicker and she would not have needed as much help from any potential friends. That said, Ravenclaw Alexa would not have been close to anyone and would have been that strange kid that everyone talked about but did not know.

💚Slytherin Alexa💚

Walking into Hogwarts, Slytherin Alexa had a goal: to get away from her brothers horrible legacy. As soon as she started to get a bad rep from her professors and other students due to Jacob's inevitable impact on the school, Alexa changed as much of her as possible. Spending weeks in the library, she was able to master Colovaria to change her hair color and to make her skin tone slightly lighter.

Ya know speaking as someone who went to a weird middle of no school where the closest store is a mini mart in a town of 20 people and the staff chose to seperate us based on an arbitrary difference and also you know the same group of like 100 kids your entire time there from kindergarten to high school graduation... The fact that the students at hogwarts actively seperate themselves is so weird.

Like okay my school was basically two schools, charter and district. We all had to share buildings but had different core classrooms(until high school). Sure there was inter class rivalries and what not. But none of the kids cared about which part of the school you belonged too?? We were all just... students together. We shared classes and teachers!!

The only people who cared for the difference was the staff and the old curmudgeon parents of the district kids. So often times the district kids when we were younger didn't like the charter, but by middle school and high school they moved on??? Legit the school board and the ol grumpy hicks all decided to boot out the charter and the adults (minus those in the charter obvi) were all on board.. but us kids fought it hard. We were upset that the adults wouldn't listen to us and were choosing to remove us from our friends like this.

What im gettin at here is that jk condemning all slytherins to be evil horrible people and then making the other houses agree is just something that would not happen. Like sure there'd be a handful of kids who agreed with their parents about the others houses. BUT if you go to school with someone for literal years of your life, and a small school were everyone knows eachother too.... well idk man theres no way you come out of that not feeling sympathy or even a baseline solidarity with them. You guys went through the same god damn hell for years together. The only difference being where you slept and which name was plasted to ur student id.
