Coverage of Snow White flopping is revolving around the politics - down to stories breaking down its performance in red and blue states - and I can't stress enough that like 90% of the audience for a movie like Snow White have never even heard of any of it. Families with kids looking to take them to a recognizable IP are not watching four hour Youtube videos ranting about Rachel Zegler they're watching the trailer and going "this looks kind of bad". The core audience is not paying to see it to support Gal Gadot they're paying to see it thinking "huh, is Angelina Jolie gonna be the evil queen in this one?". Movie made for the most checked out people alive

look I'm a disability studies scholar so I know why people are like this. but. people really do get so pressed about the dumbest shit. why do you care if someone has multiple people in their head? why do you care if someone is existing with a mobility aid in your line of sight? why do you care if someone takes a couple extra seconds to formulate a sentence? even if you don't believe that someone is legitimately disabled (which is bad on its own. but still). what do you lose by just taking people at face value? and what do you gain by living life as an angry little ass all the time?
