many moons ago in the early days of internet there was an email you'd get that listed various scenarios of poorly equipped women or potential birth defects, that then posed the question of whether or not you would recommend a shmashmortion in these unique and dire situations, reasonable as they seemed, you’d then be hit with “WELL, you aborted Beethoven.” or my personal favorite “BOOM! YOU JUST KILLED JESUS!”. While in the shower I reflected on this, and thought that the same game could be extended to women of affluent backgrounds keeping their children and baby Hitler surviving, or little Mussolini, but more poignantly, you could list many, many more such scenarios to play out across tens of thousands of pages, and even then would not reach even a sliver of a percent of the population that has turned out to be utterly unremarkable and useless, which all goes to say rather than worry about what other people are doing over your shoulder, maybe do something with your god damn life and not be another waste of space and breath, and ultimately, ultimately maybe i should take less showers.

the last morning we were in taiwan, we were to be in the lobby at ten, packed and ready to go, it was one of those last days of vacays that don't actually count, spent entirely in transit, and in essence the trip is over. sitting on our suitcases with twenty five minutes till we were to be on the shuttle, and determined to squeeze every minute out of this tiny island, jason and i loaded one last roll into our cameras, and ran to the morning market in an alley a few blocks from the hotel. i fixed my aperture and paced from one end to the other, camera glued to my face and swiveling the lens in and out of focus, stopping only once to buy a bronze dog statue for jj. this is my last walk in taiwan, and it was quite good to me!

so a year ago i went to taiwan, a few months after that i finally developed a few rolls (i still have a drawer full), a few months after that i scanned said rolls on a thermos sized scanner that is more of a ghetto low res camera rigged to a small chamber thats back lit, and so a few more months after that i bought a memory card reader, and two weeks after that i put them on my computer. forty minutes after that i uploaded them. and now im typing this.

Using homegrown cultures that feed on the light-sensitive chemicals you use to develop film, Seung-Hwan Oh ends up with these distorted photos that are strangely beautiful.

for the past few weeks i have been attempting to make another home for myself in the cyberverse, moving from host to host like a formosan ebola, the results have remained wholly unimpressive. it occurs to me that wordpress may offer me my last hope of sanctuary. to be honest i would just hammer it out myself, forging html, and css, and cuss words into my very own digital utopia, what stops me is the cold reality that were this to be the case i would have absolutely no chance at visitors, SEO categorization, indexing. i will keep you apprised. til then, please enjoy this triangulated picture of worf i made.
