A Case Study A Day, Day 4
The subject for today was feet. I learned that feet are easy to draw, but toes are not. I also learned that when you try to attach a foot to a leg, foot physics change drastically. Then suddenly there's a swat team at your door, and Gavin is screaming, and your sketchbook is being taken by SHIELD and it's a mess.

Case Study A Day, Day 3
Today, I finished the previous day's case study on poses. Not much to be said, except that I need to work on the proportion of arms and legs.

Case Study a Day, Day 2
Today's case study was on poses. We planned to do four, but life got in the way so I stopped at 2 and will do the other 2 tomorrow.
I decided to find the largest disparity in body type possible, so I drew two of my oldest friends. One, a guy about 120lbs and about 5'8", and the other a girl roughly 200lbs and 6'2". (Could have her weight wrong- it's so weird with people with muscle)
Today I learned that male bodies are incredibly difficult. When drawing women, especially curvy women like my model, it is easier to fake a curve here and there and just fudge it til it looks right. You can't do the same with men, as their bodies just don't work that way. It requires an attention to detail I did not expect. I will have to spend some more time with them in the future. Luckily, I have a friend willing to model for me, so that should help.

Case Study A Day, Day 1
So today's Case Study was expressions. @liverx and I picked six common expressions - rage, sadness, confusion, happiness, bliss, and contemplation - and had til the end of the day to complete them.
I immediately realized I need more work drawing women - their bodies are easy for me, but female face shapes are so alien! As a whole I was happy with how they turned out, however. I did three female expressions and three male.

Welcome and All That!
Hello! Welcome to my art blog. I created this blog as a sounding board for continued progression as an artist. A friend and I decided we were going to start doing a case study a day, ad infinitum. Having a place to post and get critiques is invaluable, so I am taking a crack at it!
Here, I will be posting pieces as they take form, as well as the results of my case studies! I hope you enjoy, and maybe find some inspiration for yourself. I am always open to questions, as well as commissions!
Make sure to check out my friend as well, over at @liverx ! He does some incredible work.
Thanks!
