Creataceans

Creataceans are a species I created! And I decided I wanted them to be an open species! So here is a guide of how to make one and all of the rules!

Name

The name Creatacean comes from a mix between the words Creature and Crustacean.

Design rules

There are a few rules for Creatacean's designs. They are labeled below.

Diet

[In order of preference]

The diet of Creataceans consists of,

- Crustaceans such as Shrimp, Prawns, Lobsters, Crabs, and Isopods

- Clams

- Muscles

- Small fish

Habitat

There are a few different habitats for Creataceans.

The main habitat for Creataceans are tropical waters near beaches. They tend to enjoy swimming around shallow waters and resting on beaches or little beds in between coral reefs or rocks.

However this is only for the normal variant of them.

For the deep sea variant of Creataceans they tend to stick closer to the deep sea, in trenches and deep sea caves. To rest when in the deep sea, Creataceans typically bury themselves in between rocks or look for air pockets in caves.

Lore and adaptations

Creataceans long ago evolved from canines who lived near and on beaches. They developed fish like tails as they enjoyed swimming.

Due to spending more and more time in the water, eventually spending most of their time in it, they developed both lungs and gills as a form of respiration.

They formed thumbs to help them crack open the shells and scales of their prey. And they tongues developed bristles to help them lick their prey clean.

Their manes were developed to help with buoyancy. The hair on it developed a water repelling oil that not only help them to not be bogged down by the weight of it, but also to help them float on top of the water when they don't want to sink down.

Their inverted eyes were developed to help them easier spot light when they are in the water, however due to this they much be careful when they are out of water as to not hurt their eyes from the sun.

Creataceans big ears were developed to help them hear when they are underwater. Due to sounds being murkey under the water they formed the ability to hear really well.

Skeletal structure

The skeletal structure is shown below.

Variants

There are two variants of Creataceans.

The Normal variant is the usual Creatacean you'll see. They can have any tail and the base color while it must be a shade of blue, it can be any shade of blue.

There is also the Deep sea variant. They are rarely seen due to their habitat being in the deep ocean. Their base color tends to be a dark color with marking that glow. They have a harder time when it comes to hunting due to the limited amount of prey. They also have a second eyelid due to the murkeyness of the water. They also developed webbed fingers due to having to both swim and navigate through the darkness.

Behavior

Creataceans typically are social creatures, living in small groups of 3-4. They help each other hunt.

Despite being predators they are not violent and don't viciously attack their prey.

Creataceans also often enjoy shiny things. They enjoy searching the beaches for shiny treasures.
