          every so often the group that traveled with aang, affectionately called team avatar by sokka, would split up for some reason or another. perhaps one member or two needed time away from the others, perhaps they had different tasks to attend to in different places that could not wait, or perhaps they split up as a strategy to avoid being tracked --- the latter being the case this time.

          aang’s job --- to lead whoever is tracking them away from the rest of the group, and then to make his own escape once that task is complete. the rest of the group has fled on appa --- who he would trust with his own life, and has done, many times --- while he has flown off in another direction on his glider.

          he finally decides to land on a rocky patch of land, where he makes his descent, drops from the glider, and twirls it shut. on one side of him, some distance away, there is a cliff, overlooking an active ocean whose waves crash into the face. in the other direction is dense, forested hills. in this place, he has access to water and earth in abundance, and a forest in which his navigational skills should be able to grant him escape.

          satisfied with this, he sits cross-legged on the ground, staff laid in front of him, and closes his eyes. he begins to meditate, and waits . . .

name: aang

age: 12, technically 112 ( main verse )

nation: air ( southern air temple )

short bio: aang was told at around age eleven that he was the avatar. some time after that, he fled the air temple on his flying bison, appa, got caught in a storm, and entered the avatar state to keep himself and his bison safely frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years.

he was freed from the iceberg by a girl named katara, accompanied by her brother, sokka. almost immediately, his return was discovered by a fire nation captain, who was banished and allowed home with honor under the condition of the avatar’s capture. though he and his two new friends managed to escape, his return was no longer a secret.

after his escape from the south pole, he would journey around the world on different adventures with his friends, all while fighting the fire nation and attempting to find teachers for the three elements he was not trained in. his goal: to master all four elements and finally put an end to the hundred year war.

to reiterate, i am a sideblog. follows will come from hissuccessor as previously stated, and we will be considered mutuals if you follow this blog and hissuccessor follows back.

this blog is private which means i only write with mutuals. my follow backs can take a few weeks as i am a busy person and can’t always review following blogs quickly.

i do not unfollow; instead, i softblock ( block then unblock ). this will ensure you are no longer following me and i am no longer following you. i request the same in return, for the sake of dignity. it can be embarrassing to keep trying to write with someone you don’t know has broken mutuals.

i softblock if we don’t end up writing, if i don’t feel like our attitudes or writing styles mesh, or if you post something i don’t like.

if i softblock you, you are free to follow again, as long as you know i will not be following back.

i hardblock you if you do something really bad, something that harms others, something that is hateful, or if you excessively break my rules.

as a private blog, my starter calls, in character inbox memes, and open starters are for mutuals only. anything else will be ignored. ( out of character inbox memes are fair game. )

i can take a while to respond; as long as you don’t keep bringing it up after i’ve given you an answer, you can ask me about my reply after a few days or so. i would even encourage it.

if i drop a thread, i’ll let you know. please do the same.

i rarely write one liners, and unless the situation calls for it, i would prefer not to receive one line replies. there’s practically never enough detail in one line. i prefer para/multi-para.

as far as inbox memes go, i always reblog from the source or an inactive blog. i request anyone following me does the same thing. i do not like seeing meme reblogs in my activity.

shipping

i won’t rule out shipping when aang is older, but because most of aang’s content is from his time as a 12 year old boy, any shipping that might take place will be relatively pg.

even though aang does have content from his time as an adult, i don’t feel comfortable treading into nsfw territory ( of a sexual nature ) at all. no smut will ever be present on this blog.

as a point of interest, i do not condone underage smut, even if you’ve aged the character up. unless your character has actual content as an adult, if i see you writing smut of them, it’ll be a hard, non-negotiable block from me. this goes as well if your character is a teenager with an unconfirmed age.
