the sean combs verdict is making people confront the dangers of the liberal feminist line on sex work before my very eyes. combs’ defenders say consent absolves him of any wrongdoing (which the court agrees), and the people unhappy with his acquittals are struggling to not say you can’t purchase consent, or that the presence of consent doesn’t preclude the presence of (sexual) exploitation. what radical feminists and communists have been saying for decades...😬

SUBMISSION CALL: VALERIE ISSUE FOUR (WOMEN AND DISABILITY)
I can't believe I'm taking submissions for issue four already!! This feels so surreal. This issue will be released at the end of July, which is Disability Pride Month, so it only seems fitting that this issue is on women and disability and the intersections of oppression that many of us struggle with. I am accepting submissions (art, comics, writing, essays, personal stories, poems, photography, collages, etc...) on:
The intersection between ableism and misogyny
How disabled women's needs are often forgotten by feminism
how disabled girls and women are uniquely vulnerable to sexual abuse
The social risk of being an autistic woman (especially wrt being uniquely vulnerable to grooming and abuse) and how to mitigate it
Your own experiences with disability (physical, cognitive/developmental, chronic illness or pain, blindness, deafness, etcetera.)
Not being taken seriously because of your gender/disability/a combination of both
doctors/family/psychiatrists/social workers ignoring or downplaying your pain and your struggles
your experiences with disability care or accomodations, or lack thereof
how you have been treated by men or women (or boys and girls, in childhood) because of your disability

The men who are doing "walking challenges" around the world make me so mad. Oh you're casually walking through Iran and Afghanistan and Azerbajdzjan and whatever. Oh the people are so nice? Oh you're happily sharing a room with 3 other male strangers? Oh you got picked up by a nice group of friends who drove you for a couple hours to your next stop with no incident? Fuck you

‘S—t’s getting really wild’: House Resolution 7 wants to revolutionize women’s healthcare to address ‘the needs of men’
(link)
Arizona Representative Andy Biggs has introduced a bill in Congress that seeks to set a new national standard for women’s healthcare that would prioritize “the needs of men, families, and communities” rather than women.
The bill was quietly introduced to the House on January 3 and has received little national attention. However, given that it outlines an idea to fundamentally change women’s healthcare nationwide, it’s quite a significant proposal. At first glance, it appears to be genuinely concerned with women’s healthcare, advocating for establishing Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers (PWHC) specifically for women and expanding women’s access to quality healthcare. A deeper look at the proposal, along with the PWHC booklet, though, reveals very troubling language and details. Rather than prioritizing the health, well-being, and livelihood of women, the bill envisions implementing these health centers nationwide to ensure that women have access to healthcare that is strictly pro-life, emphasizes “spirituality,” and prioritizes the needs of men.
