Could not figure out how to reply in comments so here we are lol. I did an internship at a small zoo where we had to commit to 27 hrs/week for three months, which for me ended up being 2 full days and two half days since I worked during the school year. I would not recommend interning during the school year, as I was constantly exhausted. However, at its core my internship was rewarding and I learned a lot. I was able to build community and have since been hired as an education and zoo keeper aide. It’ll definitely be beneficial to you later on, if nothing else as a resume builder. I loved my internship and I love my job :)
TL;DR: make sure you’re able to commit and don’t let yourself be over scheduled! Take care of your body during, especially if you’re not used to physical labor.
Lmk if you have any other questions!! <3
okay this is something that only like a handful of you can answer but im asking anyway: people who have done internships at zoos, is it worth it or will it make me want to kill myself?
#this is such a nuanced conversation and it truly will vary from zoo to zoo. I was able to work with all animals#some zoos you only work in one section during your internship

When I was in Italy, I saw the cutest little ice cream truck (or vespa?) I knew then and there that I had to draw it with Kiki delivering ice cream (made of fish) to the kitty cats! High res image and art videos on my Patreon~
