I have this hyperspecific headcanon that Scout has a debilitating fear of medical things/ situations, to the point it goes beyond the rational disliking pain (i.e. needles, surgery, etc) and is to the point of a panic attack if he even goes into a hospital. Of course this would make basic things required for his job very difficult
