Also included is the camera mode feature for taking selfies with your webcam, and then dress it up with a host of editing tools including call-outs, highlights, pixellation to blur personal information and more.

After that, you can share your creations via social media accounts, AirDrop, FTP, or Notes.

Skitch isn't without its drawbacks, though. From my time with this tool, I've found that I can't open more than one image at a time to annotate or edit.

For Mac, it's also not possible to save snaps to the local drive; the export command is used instead.

This free screen capturing program only lets you snap full screen or a selected area, and it comes with a few good enhancements. So what if may not have capture options as robust as Skitch? It's still mighty useful.

The few of the coolest features are a timer, auto upload selection that captures screenshots and sends them automatically to FTP or cloud storage, screen recording captures, and selfie mode.

Monosnap is an easy to use, and lightweight but is heavily loaded. The only drawback I found is that all screenshots uploaded to the cloud are open to the public. So it’s easy for others whom you shared links with to access your snaps with a few tweaks to the URL.

5. Nimbus Capture: Screenshot

Nimbus Capture is a free, browser-based screenshot tool you can use on Chrome or Firefox, but also as an application for Windows and Mac.

It can capture fullscreen, an entire webpage, or selected region depending on what you want. Like other tools listed here, Nimbus Capture also offers annotation and editing tools. Good news for macOS 10.14 Mojave users! You have a key combination that lets you take a scrolling screenshot on your Mac.

Press Shift + Command + 5 simultaneously. The grey capture panel will appear on your screen. This is the entire screenshot function.

There’s also one other combination that grabs the whole page. Hit Shift + Command + 3 and see what you get!

If you use Google Chrome, there’s a simple way to take screenshots with developer tools. Honestly, this way is not the most convenient, because you’ll need to spend some time finding the required settings. But if you’re used to HTML code, you may find it interesting to use developer tools.

Step 1. Open Developer Tools by clicking on the three dots on the top right corner of your browser.

Step 2. Open the searching area and typ 'screenshot'.

Step 3. Choose the size of the screenshot. Don't press Enter. Click on the preffered size with you mouse.

Step 4. Take the screencap and save it to your desktop.

This might be defined a bit like cheating. You pretend you want to print the web page but instead of printing you save it as a PDF file to your computer! It’s even quicker than extensions or online recorders.

The obvious disadvantage of this method is that you cannot choose the file format. If you need PNG or JPG, you’ll have to convert the image later.

How do I install and log in to the LastPass for Safari app extension on my Mac?

The Safari app extension is supported on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later. Please note that the Safari Legacy extension will continue to function on Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) or earlier, however, that extension will no longer receive updates due to Apple restrictions.

Download the LastPass for Safari app extension.

Locate the download, then double-click on the LastPass.dmg file to open.

Click and drag the LastPass app icon to the Applications folder. If you had installed a previous version of the Safari app extension and are prompted that the LastPass.app already exists in the Applications folder, click Replace.

Open the Applications folder, then double-click on the LastPass app and click Open.

In the LastPass for Safari extension app window, enter your email address and Master Password, then click Log In.

If multifactor authentication is enabled on your account, you will be prompted by your default multifactor option (which can also be changed). Follow the prompts to authenticate, which will vary depending on how multifactor authentication is configured for your account (e.g., facial recognition/fingerprint identification, push notification, time-based passcode, SMS passcode, voice call, etc.).

Note: You can also click Additional Multifactor Options (on computer) or tap Use Alternate Multifactor (on mobile) to choose a different method (unless you are part of a company account that has disabled this option). If desired, you can also enable the setting to trust the device for 30 days (unless this option is disabled by your LastPass administrator).

When prompted, click Open Safari to enable the LastPass for Safari extension. If this prompt is dismissed without enabling, you can manually enable the Safari extension:

In the Menu Bar, go to Safari > Preferences.

Select the Extensions tab.

Check the box to enable the LastPass option in the left navigation.

Result: You're all set! If you ever need to log out, you can log back in using the LastPass app icon in the Menu bar or via the LastPass for Safari web browser extension.
