I haven't had the energy to watch any hockey this season but I just got the Canes win the series notif against the bruins and I have never felt so vindicated

The fact that a league that’s so behind on diversity and inclusion is getting rid of one of their only half-assed forms of inclusion for the LGBTQA+ community and is claiming that it’s because they were too busy doing other initiatives is such bullshit. I completely agree that teams as a whole should be supporting the LGBTQA+ community and not just one token ally, but if they didn’t have a new initiative yet, they should have kept the HIFE ambassador program until they came out with a new one rather than doing absolutely nothing

I don't have any words. I genuinely don't. To find out that the team who brought me into hockey, my home team, is thinking of hiring T*ny fucking De*ngelo and J*ke god damn V*rtanen? I want to say I'm surprised that an organization who claims to support and go against what these men have done decided to enter talks with them, but deep down I'm just not.

I know we're a team in the south where these kinds of allegations or other claims are often brushed aside, but I expected better than this. Maybe it was just wrong of me to have high expectations to begin with, but.

I'm hurt. I'm disgusted by Don even considering wanting to sign those two on. It goes against everything their organization claims to support, and it's unfair to those of us who now have to decide between supporting the players which is therefore supporting the team and just not rooting for them at all.
