Thinking about that unused storyboard art from when RotS was being developed wherein while on Mustafar, Obi-Wan and Anakin encounter a giant monster which becomes an obstacle to their duel and have to team up and kill it and then they go back to trying to kill eachother. I can see why it didn't get used, but... Fucking imagine.

They’re so used to fighting on the same side- fighting in sync- and then even as enemies, they have to win one last battle as complementary halves of the same warrior. The iconic duo split beyond repair, but- their tactics and muscle memory still so in tune. Everything between them is the same and yet it will fucking never be the same again.

Then it's over, like every other storm they weathered together, and all that's left is the divide between them and the certainty that one must die at the other's hand. Except we know that's not how it ends, and the final resolution is even worse. Yet mere minutes before Obi-Wan leaves Anakin to burn, they were fighting back-to-back, like they always had.

Star Wars really said "Anakin Skywalker had issues rooted in childhood trauma that was not his fault" but also "Anakin made his own choices as an adult for which he alone is responsible" but ALSO "In spite of the truly evil things he chose to do Anakin was still capable of being loved and redeemed" and I think that's important.

star wars AU where instead of Luck Skywalker and Leia Organa we have Leia Skywalker and Luke Organa!

Luke grows up as a Prince on Alderaan, very soft-spoken, anexcellent negotiator. Meanwhile, Leia grows up as a little shit on Tattooine and gets into trouble galore.

[Obi-Wan is significantly more involved in both of their lives - he keeps needing to get Leia out of trouble, and Luke accidentally met (and recognised) him the one time he was off-Tattooine.]

soooooo i did a redraw of my anidala art from five years ago (jeez). it's inspired by klimt's kiss and now it has upgraded anatomy :))

a jedi named skywalker frequently served as her personal guard…  anakin skywalker…  they must have become… friendly.

I appreciate The Empire Strikes Back for being the only time I can think of when a character just shot their enemy as soon as they saw them without pausing or having a dramatic moment beforehand.

Dooku and Obi-Wan, two people who both loved Qui-Gon.

This art parallels each other's events so to speak. While Dooku is sad for Qui-Gon near their memorial place, Obi-Wan gives his padawan braid to the Master and says goodbye to him one last time
