Well, uhh, funny story about that. Sooo I found out pretty recently that the Labyrinth does have some side effects if you stay in it too long. For most people, you cling onto everything you can and the Labyrinth twists that desire into turning you into a garbage collector.

Now, if you’re anything like me, who doesn’t HAVE any attachments, the Labyrinth starts to…take away pieces of you, bit by bit. So, no rush or anything, but if anyone has any idea how to leave before more of me starts going missing (like my ears) could you give me some ideas? I’ll try anything at this point.

You're a Once-ler? Why? I mean, what's your deal?

My 'deal'? Okay, you know, given what I've seen of other Once-ler's, you're probably wondering what my gimmick is. Well, besides being stuck in a magic maze against my will, I make hats! It's a good hobby to keep my mind occupied since there's plenty of good fabric around here. I guess that makes me 'The Hatter-ler'? Er, no, that sounds terrible. Please just call me Hatter if you need to call me anything besides Once-in-a-lifetime. Or Once-ler for short. You get the picture.

Ask blog now open! Welcome to ask-idol-ler! This is a blog dedicated to Oliver, a Once-ler OC based loosely off of Ensemble Stars. OOC: (If this blog ever gets overwhelmed with asks, I will be responding with in character text only. Apologies in advance!)

Are they well liked?

Very! In fact, the clothing style he chose for Calliandra (his solo idol group) ended up being some silly 2005 Hot Topic Tripp pants stuff. He was made fun of at first, but somehow, he managed to bring that style back through his fans.

How do they handle being complimented?

Outwardly he tries to act cool, but inside he doesn't know how to handle compliments. He's got some insecurity issues, at this point.

Are they very driven?

He’s very driven to fix what he ruined. It’s pretty much the only goal in his life, and they obsess over it in an unhealthy manner. 

What kind of state is the world that they live in?

It’s pretty modern day, so … Just imagine what the world is like today.

Do they like themselves?

Sometimes. He tries hard to like himself, but his friends bring him up, which really helps.

Are they a good person?

Oliver is a good person now. Even though he looks like a lil’ grumpy face and has his sassy moments, all he cares about is his impact on the world and how positive it is. Most of his money from being an idol goes to environmental reconstruction.

How do they react to criticism?

If it’s about his musical talents… Well, he’s… a bit cocky.

Are they a fast learner?

Yes. He’s an inventor and he catches on quickly- audibly, visually and in any other way~.

How intelligent are they?

Extremely! Just used to be a little morally dense.

the main thing i wish every single person who got into or ever got into the onceler/askblog fandom knew was: every single character is written by one person... (i mean sometimes blogs have multi-mods but what i mean is) like...this is not some overall collaborative writer thing. or one person writing everything.

when you single out one character for better or for worse, you have to be. careful dude. you have to be really careful.

if you start saying stuff like "shoe-ler is my absolute favorite blog! it has the best art! i love him so much more than the rest! he does something none of the others do!" it feels like shit to everyone who isn't shoe-ler's mod

or "i wish grudge-ler was fucking dead. he's such a piece of shit. trash character." do you really want grudge-ler's mod to see that???

please please please be mindful of what you say about characters in this fandom. it's not like other fandoms, okay?

i'm not saying you cant gush or that you can't react or that you can't like...do analysis on characters. you're allowed to have faves and you're allowed to not like things, just think about others before you voice it. (or in some cases keep it to DMs/private spaces)

i've been in the fandom since march 2012, i've seen this kinda stuff kill the creativity, confidence, and motivation for askblog mods over and over again
