Painting the downstairs ✔️ Swipe to see the before...everything looks so yellow and old. It's amazing what a brighter white paint will do!!! In our last house, I made the mistake of painting everything brown. And the house actually felt a little depressing! Even though my husband and I have a lot of remodeling experience, we still make mistakes. But sometimes, you never know how something will look until you do it. If you're thinking about remodeling, GO FOR IT! It's bright and sunny today in Pennsylvania but freezing. We're supposed to have a snow storm tomorrow, so I'm staying inside with my coffee and warm blankets. Have you ever seen these before? After moving in, we discovered pocket doors hidden in the walls of our den and kitchen. Apparently, they were pretty common back in the 60's when the house was built. We love them and have tried our best to repair and save them, even through they occasionally get stuck or fall down. Most days, we like our open floor plan, but sometimes it's nice to close the doors and have a more defined room. I finally did something with this little storage bench! After I bought it, I realized it was too big for my laundry room where I had planned to use it for storing shoes, so I shoved it into a corner of the attic, not really knowing what to do with it. The old basket had been in a cabinet storing the kids' arts and crafts, and the 80's photo albums we're just sitting in a drawer. Just goes to show you can make something pretty with things you already have.
