i have no idea how this would even work but alternate ending to the alvarez arc where what's left of the government of alvarez after zeref dies and they lose the war decides that their next ruler has to have royal blood...and whaddya know, their emperor just happened to leave a younger brother behind...

and that's how natsu became the emperor of another country completely against his will

since zeref was keeping tabs on natsu all that time and knew the names of his friends personally i have to imagine there was some pretty funny commentary he kept up on natsu's shenanigans all that time:

"natsu joined mavis' guild...of course he did."

"oh hey that red-headed girl kinda looks like...hang on. no. no, natsu don't try and fight her natsu don't—"

"a cat with wings...natsu doesn't have a single normal companion does he?"

"natsu stop challenging every single strong wizard you meet...and please stop trying to eat every weird-looking rock you see!"

zeref's biggest form of stress wasn't running an empire, it was all the times he heard about his little brother being a dumbass <3

zeref and mavis as two sides of the same coin, as characters who could have so easily become what the other did, under different circumstances.

zeref, who was gentle and kindhearted to begin with, child prodigy and genius that he was, could have so easily done what mavis did; helping people, contributing to the (positive) development of wizardry, maybe even starting a guild like mavis did, inspiring thousands and using his mind for good.

mavis, who faced similar losses, was orphaned at a young age and lived in isolation, could have so easily become what zeref did had she lived longer under her curse; had she not had good influences on her before the curse...mavis' genius intellect could have taken a darker turn, her strategist mind turning her cold and calculating, the curse of ankhseram making her lose all sense of self, pushing her to use her talents for evil...

it's kinda stupid but it's the first time I ever like put out my thoughts about akeshu in such a substantial format.

I think yeah, I could just write my "this and that" thoughts about them in a doc, but actually drawing a story and really pouring my entire fuckign heart into drawing this comic.

THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT THO?

I want to draw MY vision of akeshu, and share it... but ofc that leaves a lot of uhhh I guess anxiety that I'd be rejected for such delusions- whatever though... akeshu will always be happy..!!
