Thinking about just how soul crushing the opening scene of Sinners is. How Sammie went through hell, just wants to see his family again, only for him to look at his father and see the horrors he just escaped. I will never ever be over the religious trauma he experiences in that scene. How his suffering is so easily diminished to a Sunday school special. I wonder just how much this has happened to Sammie in the past?

Saw somebody say “Smoke don’t play about Stack.” and it made me laugh, because honestly and truly he don’t. That’s his little brother even though they identical twins, and we know for a fact he upped the pole on two people in defense of him. Imagine how many people he killed or beat down in the military or Chicago or wherever else they went, for daring to lay a hand on Stack.
