Yo tags - rant here 'bout ships

This tag is half pissing me off and half making me fangirl scream. At the moment, it's pissing me off more. So as usual, to vent, I'm going to write a lovely post. Let's start off with the big ships involving our lovely Percy. Pernico and Percabeth are easily in the big relationship war even Ares would approve of. The hate going around between these two is the height of what's pissing me off. Some Percabeth shippers are saying things like "well, it's not cannon so it's not ever gonna happen!" News flash -- shipping doesn't have to be cannon! I personally approve of rachelxoctavian, and it can't be cannon because Rachel has sworn eternal maiden ship by hosting the oracle! Another thing that seems to keep popping up -- snide remarks. I'm pretty sure the one I saw [i refuse to point fingers] wasn't intentional, but it was still harsh. Many posts from Percabethians are rude and cruel towards Pernico/Perachel. For example, saying "Oh my gods, percy and annabeth are so adorable!" Is fine. But proceeding to say "I can't believe you would ship nico with percy." Is not. Or "you aren't living until you ship Percabeth!" Is not okay. These phrases aren't intentional, obviously, but keep on your mind - if you are going to use connotations like this, keep it off Pernico's tag. Perachel shippers seem to be the butt of Percabeth's jokes, too. It's always something like, "Rachel almost ruined Percabeth I can't believe her! Perachel shippers need to be STABBED WITH PITCHFORKS!" Always. It's rather saddening to think that Percabethians are shunning Perachel and Pernico shippers just because it's against their own ship. But let's get this straight right now -- Percabeth isn't the only ship that needs to be told to sit down and stop that, Velma style. Pernico, yes: Anti-pernico's need to stay off the dam tag. It's supposed to support the ship, not to spread negative posts. But perniconians, keep in mind: if somebody dislikes said ship, it doesn't mean they're homophobic. Get that straight right now. Percabeth/Perachel shippers are told on occasion that they just don't approve of gays. But you know what, I'm going to share a story real quick. If you follow the labels certain posts give Percabeth shippers, I'm labeled a homophobe. Me. The girl who helped two of her friends come out of the closet, confront their parents, and helped one of them get a date in one of the most judge-mental cities in Utah. So, according to a few labels I've seen, I'm a homophobe -- Thanks guys. Guys there's enough Tartaurus crap going on Amazon [dunno how much Twice-Kill is liking this]. Let's please not spread it to tumblr.

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.

That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.

there's a difference between enjoying revenge & being sadistic though? i mean revenge doesn't have to be burning them or torturing them and it's a little immature to think that's the only way to get back at someone? you can have schizophrenics and stuff, you just can't make the whole rp about it. what's wrong with that? and you can have serious injury, you just can't describe how they got it or play the scene where they get it. if you're interested in recovery, then what's yours problem?

Anon, there is an extremely fine line between being sadistic and enjoying it. Most users don't know that line is. No, revenge isn't always burning/torture/the nasty stuff, but the way CS makes it sound, we aren't allowed to even mention something along those lines. Immature? Pardon? It was a goddamn example. There are many many others I can come up with -- have you seen television? Have you watched cartoons? This kind of stuff occurs in comic books and Saturday morning cartoons. The damn Avengers have revenge and blood in them, and you don't see them being banned. It's not just schizophrenics [i only mentioned that particular one because it was the first to pop into mind]. We can't have characters with back stories and realistic after effects? Is CS trying to promote Gary-Stu/Mary-Sue's? So what? We want a challenge -- to get inside a characters head. To understand how they got that way -- believe it or not that's part of the healing process I love -- and to play it out. To discover what this Character is all about. It's like I said in my example -- I don't want to read a macabre story. I could honestly care less for the creepy ass descriptions that come with it. But can I not go something along the lines of "her assailant slammed her into the wall at a bad angle, and Gabrielle cried out. "Ow! My arm is broken!""? It's frustrating! Are we supposed to time skip over the best parts of the role play? I had a fight scene between me and a pal in a public role play that lasted three posts. Nothing graphic, mainly bumps and bruises, but my character was knocked out. CS makes it seem like that's too graphic for their little kids. My problem? Thank you, you prickly asshole -- now I sound like a stupid bitch who can't get her way. "My problem" is how unthought out some of these rules are. You can't role play the actual fight. Well how the hell am I supposed to describe where my character's broken arm and leg came from? "Oh, Mr. Evil accidentally bumped into me and I fell off a building but it's okay! In not hurt and we're best friends now!!" Oh wait. Sorry. That's too graphic because it incites revenge, according to you.

Perhaps you should switch sites; CS hasn't ever been a major focus of the site. I understand your frustration, i rejoined for easy roleplay. It's unfortunate, but grab your partners and hit skype. You'll be better off thst way.

I can’t ever completely leave cs because I do run Illiterate to Literate, but my role playing days on CS are over. I switched to Awesome Sauce/Advanced Scribes.

Because I can't reblog and it's pissing me off, this is for rummycs.tumblr.com two posts down on my blog --

1 - I never said anything about excessive gore. I certainly don’t feel like reading a macabre novel when I hated writing one.

2 - there was a point brought up by a user in the semi-lit+ club about villains. Our villainous characters have basically gone down the drain. Are we supposed to think that they’re going to sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss how sad they are that they’ve been rivals their entire lives and that they could totally be friends except the hero’s parents killed the bad guys’ when they were ten and scarred him for life, causing the villain to swear revenge on the last living descendant? Didn’t think so — he is going to enjoy his revenge. And we can’t role play it.

3 - I NEVER mentioned anything about sexual and abusive relationships being a-okay. Because they are NOT. I have witnessed and been out through far too many events in my real life to accept these kinds as anything more than disgusting outlets for angsty children.

Please, read carefully; I said “more than”, not “can’t have”. Trust me though. I get its a kid site, designed towards kids from age eight to fifteen. I’m within that age range. But are we not allowed to role play broken bones, dislocates shoulders, traumatic events, etc. if we don’t describe them in particular? Cs’s new rules state that even implying things like that will result in a varying degree of punishment. I couldn’t care less for the disturbing descriptions kids come up with, but for me, it isn’t the event. It’s the healing process. I myself wish with all my heart to be a social worker and child counselor. To help the healing process so they don’t deal with depression and suicide when they’re adults. Even the physical aspect of it, I want to role play. A patient with a concussion. A psychosomatic limp. A born Schizophrenic. All of them trumping their illnesses and all for the betterment of themselves. I don’t want to know how many buckets of pus you can squeeze out of an infected leg wound, Katniss, but now on CS, we aren’t allowed to role play a possibly fatal blow to the leg [think in terms of bleeding out or an infection -- so long as it isn’t descriptive] because it could be considered excessive.

I don’t expect a lot of users to understand my rantings. The tumblrorians associated with CS are the traders, the artists. Everything added and switched to your boards are doing just fine. But mine, as a role player who strives for challenges and out of the ordinary, is finding it harder and harder to enjoy her passion on CS anymore — these new rules may be the cause for me to switch to a different site. [whoo so dramatic]

So I'm not upset at the one image per post rule. Really. I can work around that. I'm pissed that we can't link to shit. Is anybody really gonna read a three paragraph description on what a mental disease is? Or a five paragraph description of their pets? And the gore rule. I totally get that it's a kids site and that's why I stay here. I don't want to read sex scenes or smut. But no fights? They can't have more than a scratch or bruise? TF? I've had a character with a concussion before and the entire fight scene before that. Am I going to get in trouble now? I don't know. Maybe I'm overreacting.

Adding to 2: speaking as somebody who knows multiple people with mental disorders/has studied intensely/has one herself, when you think about giving your character a mental disorder, you need to do your research. Saying "Im a schizophrenic!" And later showing no signs of voices and/or creatures creating thoughts in their head or even symptoms is playing them wrong. Holy hell, I wanted to use schizophrenia for a character of mine and I spent three days researching the disease along with countless hours on YouTube watching simulations and a tv series. Throwing in a mental disorder is not okay. But also remember that those with a dark and disturbing past are either going to have this great outlook on life with an a++ attitude or they're going to develop things like social anxiety, depression etc. it's not a tool. It's a major part of life. If you're going to role play it, do it right please.

1. It is not ‘cute’ to have your characters react violently to being mistaken for the opposite sex/gender, unless they A: are trans* and others are doing that specifically to harass them; in which case all bets are off. B: Incredibly cisexist/otherwise a dick like that and they are not being...
