10 absolutely unhinged things LDPDL has done
(in no particular order because all of these are gold)
swim the Mississippi to have hate sex with Lestat
dive in tongue-first for a kiss. Who does that??
made an absolute show out of killing a racist (well done, honestly)
told his second husband he's boring and called him a little bitch
"sucked [Armand] off" in front of Daniel (Daniel's wording, not mine)
had a passionate make out session with the hallucination of his ex husband in a public park
proposed sex to a 70-year-old
got into a 77-year relationship just to spite his ex husband
screamed at the hallucination of a dead French guy to speak English even though he's fluent in French
fed a bright young reporter lies about his ex husband just to get said ex husband's attention

What truly touches my heart and makes me love Loustat as much as I do is that, on the show, they were friends.
They were friends while Louis was human and genuinely enjoyed each other's company. They would go out, have fun, and laugh. They would sit on their bench and talk for hours. Louis would likely mention a book he'd read, and Lestat would listen despite wanting to talk about music or art. He would listen to Louis and take in all he said and not only from his thoughts, which was an advantage, but Lestat would listen to his voice.
Lestat saw Louis, really saw him, and fell in love with him. With his human heart. With his beautiful brown eyes, the flush of his cheeks, and the sound of his human heart faintly joining Lestat"s in song.
And Louis fell in love with Lestat, too. He fell in love with his silly accent and his strange, foreign ways and would convince himself that despite all the odd tricks that Lestat could perform, he was worth the time spent getting to know. Louis would look forward to all those nights with Lestat. Louis allowed Lestat to see beneath the facade of who he was to the public and see the truth of his heart and soul. Louis was able to be vulnerable and he trusted Lestat with all of this.
They were friends. They loved one another and then fell in love, and that's so beautiful. Their connection existed before the change and before the blood connection. Only Lestat is left in the world to remember the gorgeous brown eyes and the sound of Louis' human heartbeat. The touch of his warm, human skin and Louis' voice in his head from so long ago. He was so desperately in love with Louis the moment he saw him, yes, but once Lestat was able to know him? And Louis was able to let go and be himself around Lestat finally? They were both done for.
There is so much to Loustat and their love, but this is something so important and moving and truly is one of the biggest reasons why I love them.

Loustat short comics - There is nothing else until the storm is over - Interview with the Vampire TV Series
text transcription under the cut ⬇️
Fake magazine illustration
Page 1 Daniel : So, tell me... Did you see Lestat again?
Page 2 Louis : When he's not on Tour, he would occasionally visits.
Page 3 Daniel : So you're what, now? Friends?
Louis : [Hello Lestat.]
Lestat : [Hello Louis.]
It would be too simple. You know us.
Louis : [ That's new. Still enjoying the glitz and glamor?]
But there is this arrangement we are both fine with.
Page 4 When two people hurt each other so deeply, what is left afterwards?
Page 5 Things like that, it seals doors once still unlocked at the time. Can time really heal everything?
[Mets moi dans mon cercueil, Louis, Louis...]
Page 6 [Stay down chéri, I don't want to fight like this. I'll stay. I'll stay, I'll never leave you ever again. I promise. I'll be happy. For you. For her. Please please please please]
Some things were flipped over to show the truth. Others, I learned to see differently. I faced my wrongs.
[I'll be anything please please please please please please. I didn't know it was a gift. I wore it like a curse. I was selfish. I wanted you to suffer. Because I was. Suffering. I came to thank you.]
Page 7 Do we love each other still? Yes. Can we live under the same roof, share the same spaces, the same bed, for an extended period of time, again? No. But this raging, all devouring passion, it is now replaced by something that can never be altered. Is this the price we had to pay to finally be equals?
Page 8 We have never been more understanding of each other. A shadow of something that could have been from the start. Friendly jokes. Bickering I will never admit enjoying. Respect. And then, the always surprising softness. So eerie after all that happened. Yet, we always welcome it.
Page 9 Daniel : [How dramatic. Not ready to live together again, yet he's all over your coffee table.]
Louis: [I didn't buy these.]
Daniel : [Sure. Will you let me know the next time he passes by?]
Louis : [Well I can't. This is his safe place. You will have to find him by yourself I'm afraid.]
Daniel : [Of course. He can't make anything easy. As if he didn't have enough safe places with his ten properties.]
Page 10 Louis: [Nice chat. Bye, Daniel.]
Lestat : [Only when I'm not on Tour, hm?]
Louis [Approximately.]
Lestat : [Thanks.]
Louis : [Did you really just say thank-]
Lestat: *kisses Louis* [...too soon?]
Page 11 Louis : Almost a century is enough waiting.

Lestat’s parenting is so depressing to think about not only because it was sadistic and cruel but also because essentially, up till the great turning point of his marriage with Louis (Claudia leaving home), most of the things he did to Claudia were for her own good. It was cruel, and it was callous, and it was selfish, but I really do think it was the best he could do. He was raised by a father who dragged him home and beat him bloody and essentially imprisoned him in the French countryside until he went to Paris and he was raised by a mother who refused to teach him to read. I don’t know if he thought of her as a glorified doll, or family pet, or even as a daughter when they were all still playing house, but it’s really sad to think about how the way he parented Claudia was him breaking the cycle. He bought her clothes, he bought her toys, he dressed her up, he took her hunting, he took her to the theatre, he spent time with her. Christ, he actually spent time with her, when his parents probably never spent a day with him of their own volition. He was doing his best. And there were many ways he could’ve done better (for starters, by not making her watch her boyfriend burn, and perhaps even emotionally engaging with her instead of dismissing her during the fight that leads to her running away from home, and perhaps even going to look for her after, because it would’ve been easy for him), but it’s really sad that that was his best. He tried to spoil her, he tried to spend time with her, he let her leave home. I don’t know if that was an act of petty spite, or a choice he made because his own father dragged him home, or because he thought she’d come back, but he still let her leave. The first time, at least. He even acknowledges that his parenting may be sadistic, which doesn’t make it less so, but it is a startling moment of self-reflection coming from Narcissus himself. It’s really sad that that was him being a good father. That was his idea of a good father. Jesus Christ.

daniel’s first post-turning public mass discourse event on twitter will be him saying something along the lines of “what is it with blond singers who cannot get over any breakup they ever had and write songs instead of getting therapy” fully intending it to be a snide little remark about lestat but the bugfuck insane swifties is gonna mistake it to be about taylor swift and he almost gets executed for it. when they realise who it’s actually about, they’re gonna keep calling him a sexist man because lestat is so woman-coded anyway.

But we always talk about how Lestat is obsessed with Louis, but what about Louis's obsession with Lestat? No matter how desperately he tries to downplay his feelings for Lestat, Louis is just as obsessed, if not more so. The guy literally spent 77 years with Armand out of spite and jealousy, made tapes trash-talking about Lestat in hopes of attracting his attention and having Lestat chase him again, hunted guys every night just because that's something Lestat would do, and conjured Dreamstat because he missed his ex-husband like crazy. His life was completely consumed by Lestat after Paris. For some reason, they are more chaotic apart than together. And that's saying a lot. 🤣 I'm sure there's a lot more crazy stuff on this list that Louis is just so damn afraid and embarrassed to share. Lol ^^"
