Squint Eye: Causes, Types & Treatments
A Squint Eye or Strabismus is a condition caused by the misalignment of the eye. Here both the eyes will be pointed towards different directions, ie. one eye focuses at one spot, while the other eye may turn inwards, upwards, downwards, or outwards. For a few, the misalignment may be constant, while it may be intermittently occurring for some others. According to recent studies, 2-3% of children are in danger of having squint eyes. You are more likely to have a squint eye if the disease runs in your family. When children with long-sight (without their glasses), strain their eyes to see things, they can develop a squint eye or strabismus. Occasionally adults may develop squint eyes, which puts a strain in their vision. If this happens, consult an optometrist as soon as possible.

Squint Surgery
Squint is a misalignment of the eyes where the 2 eyes are pointed towards different directions. The misalignment will be constant for a few, while it can be intermittently happening for some other people. The deviation of the eye can be in any of the direction – outward, inward, upward or downward. If the child is not treated at the correct time, a situation called amblyopia will occur, which eventually may lead to a permanent loss of vision.
