Latest Guild Event
Unfortunately I donât have the funds to host a super awesome guild event so instead Cake and I came up with this idea. Now because weâre lazy and it feels about time our guild held an event, weâll be holding a CHRISTMAS IN (ALMOST) JULY! This will be a secret santa-type event. How does it work? You probably want to knowâŠ. Okay, Iâll tell you! If you wish to participate, you need to PM me via the forums. Put in the title, your in-game character name. For example âTopic: Corncobâ And send me your wish list. The wishlist: THINGS THAT YOU WANT. But remember, we canât all be superstars. Try to include in your list items of lesser value such as, resources, meats/fish/bread, along with those dream pieces ie. Karmeleon petsmount, AP Bearbaric Band (Seshomaru). EXAMPLE WISHLIST: Fancy hats/cloaks Emote scrolls Frigost 3 resources Kamas Wisdom scrolls Karmeleon mount From now until the 11th May, you may sign up to participate. On this date, the 11th of May, I will contact each and every one of you with the name of the person youâre to buy/farm gifts for, including his/her wishlist. You will have two weeks to acquire as many or as few of the items on the wishlist, or even to add some of your own. Gifts MUST be to me before the 24th Mayand I will be handing gifts out on the 25th May. And one more thing. I have a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you DONâT tell anyone who you have, thatâll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. BUT IF YOU DO, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Happy gifting!

Remember how I was talking about organising guild events in Dofus.Â
Just found this gem from 2010.Â
I do not think of myself as artistically talented. I'm a biochemist. But this is one of my proudest moments.
This is entirely drawn, free-hand using a mouse on Microsoft Paint.Â
A long time ago, you used to be able to spin a wheel at the Trool Fair and the goal was to have the apple end between the gap in the Gobball's teeth. If you did, you won the jackpot.Â
Sometimes when I was bored. I would sit there and just spin for hours on end. I can't remember how much it cost to spin, it wasn't overly expensive. But you can imagine, spinning it consistently for an hour. Man that jackpot quickly builds up.Â
This one day I was there, had been spinning for an hour on and off while joining in guild chat. My friend logs on, asks what I'm doing, I direct him to my position.Â
He shows up. Laughs at me. Next thing I know "I won!" "What?" "Yeah! I won!" "No you didn't"
Friend copies and pastes the green text announcing that he has won 1,000,000 kamas or thereabouts. I was fuming. "Give me my money back!" "Haha! I won!"Â
This is the story of my gobball drawing. :)Â

Haha! Yeah of course! Well maybe only if I can be queen for a day. Just kidding! Could be fun to see it on a server scale!Â
I am on Rushu!
But, no really. Queen. For. A. Day.Â
So sometimes, when I get bored and feel like I need something to do. I run around Dofus taking screenshots of myself in odd outfits and odd places. Then I release a series of screens for my guild mates and tell them that the person to take the most screenshots to match mine wins. And then I donate some ridiculous amount of kamas and stupidly cool prizes to the cause because I can never just stop at one winnerâŠÂ Wow. Iâm cool.

You wouldnât believe the situations a hard-working Lego minifigure photographer finds himself in
âIâve had cameras for almost as long as I can remember,â Andrew Whyte tells me from a radio studio in Portsmouth, England. âMy dad was very supportive, and a very enthusiastic amateur. And his father and his grandfather were interested in the science and the practice of photography as well.â
Before our interview even starts, Whyteâs been busy taking a few snaps of his favorite subject, a one-and-a-half-inch tall Lego minifigure. In fact, Whyteâs been carrying the minifig around with him for the past year and a half.
âI finally found a use for that tiny pocket on the right hand side of a pair of jeans; he fits perfectly in there,â Whyte quips.
The idea is that the minifig tags along as Whyte goes about his routine as a freelance photographer. And once a day, Whyte features him in a photograph, which he then posts online.
It all started back in the summer of 2012. Whyte had chucked in the 9-to-5 job in order to spend more time with his kids. He decided to make a profession out his long-standing photography habit. But he found the only time a full-time dad could really shoot was at night, after the kids were tucked into bed.
âI wasnât picking up the camera regularly enough,â Whyte says.
It was on a visit to the Lego store that big inspiration struck in a tiny, plastic form.
âMy children pointed out that there was a camera accessory that fits into a Lego minifigureâs hand. So, I built a minifig around that camera, and I started positioning him into the everyday snaps I was taking with my mobile phone,â he says.
At first, Whyte just posted the photos on Facebook. But the response was so positive that he decided to go all-in. In October 2012, Whyte (presumably with the blessing of his small partner) started taking a Lego picture every day.
He dubbed the project âLegography,â and created a webpage for it.
Now, if youâve seen The Lego Movie, you might be tempted at this point to launch into a rendition of the filmâs theme song: âEverything is Awesome.â
Not so fast, says Whyte. The life of a working minifig photographer, and his giant helper, on Englandâs South Coast isnât as glamorous as it might seem.
âI shoot it live on location, so Iâm embracing whatever weather conditions are surrounding us on this glorious and blustery island,â says Whyte.
âGetting the figure to stand up for long enough to take a photo is a challenge,â Whyte admits.
âAnd I spend a lot of time down at real ground level. The figure is usually positioned on terra firma, down on the ground, and the camera is held upside down, so the lens is as close to the ground as possible. Thatâs what helps to introduce this forced perspective, this sense of scale that makes the figure look much closer to life-size than he actually is.â
It also, Whyte says, garners some strange looks from passersby. The question âwhat are you doing?â is usually quickly followed by âwhatâs his name?â
âI âtoyedâ with the idea of naming him,â Whyte jokes. But in the end, he thought it was more important to maintain a bit of distance from his subject.
The results, as you can see in the slideshow, are pretty amazing. Awesome, if youâll allow me to say so.
In one shot, the Lego minifig slips on a full-size banana peel, sending his tiny camera flying.
âIt took me 19 attempts to get that right, because the Lego camera was being dropped into the shot, just out of view of my smartphone.â
In another, called Risk Assessment, the minifigure is fleeing from a crab on the beach.
âItâs a lot of fun. It makes me smile when I look at it, that one. Everything turned out exactly how I envisaged it,â he adds.
Through the months, the minifig did get an opportunity to broaden his horizons. He accompanied Whyte on several photo shoots outside of Portsmouth. There are shots of him waiting for the Tube in London, and gazing up at The London Eye.
I asked Whyte if Lego had any concerns about his project, but he told me the company hasnât said a word to him about it.
But Whyte did say that, although his project was not to meant to coincide at all with the release of The Lego Movie, the film has given his Legography project a boost. His followers on Facebook and Twitter have nearly doubled in the weeks since the film came out.
And whatâs next for the Legography project?
âOne of the directions I was interested in exploring was the life of other characters, because these minifigs are available in so many different guises. You can get figures that are plumbers, and dancers and skaters and almost every other walk of life. So Iâd be really interested to explore that,â Whyte says.
Awesome, indeed.

Wow. Bees are so diverse!
Had a seminar on Native Bees of Australia today. First thing the presenter said "To most people, there is only one bee. The European Honey Bee" Me (thinking): Yeah, that's right. There is only one bee. BAM!!!!!! Not so much.
