Hello, friend!  I'm Aleeta.  I'm a passionate Holistic Nutritionist in the making in Toronto, Ontario. In my own day-to-day life it is important to me that I care for my body, mind and soul.  For most of my life I have experienced many emotional highs and lows, anxiety, depression and the like.  Three years ago, at age 20, I was hospitalized after suffering a pulmonary embolism- cause unknown- and was at a complete standstill in my life, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and quite literally.  Once my body began to heal, I decided it was time for a change.  Instead of cursing my body and claiming it had turned against me, I decided to love it and nurture it so that it would love me back.  Through yoga, meditation, and eating and enjoying REAL FOOD, I finally love who I am.  My goal as an aspiring Holistic Nutritionist is to show others the path to loving and caring for yourself.  Now, as a 23-year old student working full-time, my diet is always centered around ease and affordability, but I always aim to excite my taste buds!  Here, I will share with you my favourite recipes, tips and inspirational tidbits.  Thanks for taking a peek at my blog! xx You can contact me at [email protected] if you have any questons :)

Why Choose Organic?
What the heck does "Organic" food even mean?
Organic food has been grown without:
chemically synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
sewage sludge
genetically modified organisms
ionizing radiation
hormones
Now, I don't know about you, but I'd rather eat REAL FOOD than something that has been chemically altered, genetically tampered with and sprayed with poison.  Seems like a no-brainer!  If you need more convincing, here are some more of the benefits of buying and eating organic foods... The Environment
Organic farming uses more renewable resources to create more sustainable systems and reduces the amount of toxins in food and in the environment.
Soil and Water Quality
Organic farming reduces the amount of chemicals leeched into the soil and water supply.  If our topsoil is laden with chemicals, it will yield less food and nutrients for both humans and animals.
Community
If you're buying GMO, you're supporting the economical beast that is Monsanto.  Most organic farmers are small scale, so try to buy local.  Not only are you supporting your community and getting the freshest, best quality possible, but you are also helping out the environment by reducing the amount of fuel and resources needed to transport goods from other countries.
Biodiversity
Organic agriculture aspires to preserve biodiversity by use of traditional non-GMO seeds, crop rotation, and by working with the natural diversity of the existing environment.  Non-Organic farming uses many chemicals that are harmful to insects and animals that are crucial parts of growth and flourishing life within our environment.  If we wipe out one species, we will inevitably over-populate another, posing a threat to the entire food chain and entirely messing with nature's harmonies.
Healthy and Delicious!
Non-Organic produce can put you at risk for:
toxicity
allergic reactions
antibiotic resistance
immune supression
cancer
Organic food is clean, pure and natural.  The nutrient content and the taste are never compromised.  Isn't that what we want in our food?
Non-Organic GMO foods don't exist so that you can have a cheaper alternative.  They were created so that large companies could make money off of struggling farmers because GMO produces higher crop yields.  It is important to remember that quantity does not equal quality.  Always choose quality... choose real food!
